If i format my exus 4 ca i use the nexus toolkit to restore it back to stock (the root etc). i wat my phone fresh ad empty but ii am not sure if i can do that without bricking.
thank you in advance =]
Flashing the stock images alone will erase everything on the device. Don't worry about bricking.
Than you

Hi
Just a quick question , is it possible to root again on 4.1.2 if you were on 4.1.1 stock only rooted not unlocked.
Without loosing all the data?
Cheers

+1 and I don't want to unlock and relock, there was a method taken from galaxy nexus but doesn't work anymore after 4.1.2 update

Why would you want to relock?
Just unlock, root and be done with it.

Unlocked and rooted now. Just made the regular backup through rooting toolkit and voila and everything back to as it was after restore. Didn't take too LNG either for backup or restore.

@krelvinaz
as unlocking bootloader is not necessary for me (i dont flash new roms , ...etc )
also you know that feeling you are doing something wrong took me awhile (lack of courage) to root
@ghostaa
noob question , did the backup restores everything (even the widgets you placed on your home screens, i hate to customize it again)
Nope backup didn't restore the widgets but apart from it everything else was!
Hope this would help...

OK little preface, when I got my N7 I updated to 4.2.1, unlocked the boot loader and rooted with no issues. I found the zip for the 4.2 tablet ui and flashed it though TWRP. For whatever reason that soft bricked my N7. I completely spaced making a backup so I was stuck. I was able to flash the stock 4.2.1 firmware and got it back up and running. now I am trying to reroot my tablet but it's not working. I've tried flashing the superuser zip through recovery and also tried using the toolkit to push the needed files and nothing has worked so I'm at a loss

Xda is not your personal tech support. That being said, flash stock and fastboot OEM lock.
Beamed from my Grouper.

Don't flash anything from another device.
Read the instructions carefully to install/flash a rom or kernel.

+1 That`s about the only thing to brick a Nexus
Don't do any formatting, and don't delete partitions. If you need a clean slate, do a factory reset or flash the stock image using fastboot.

The only thing you can't format is the bootloader that will brick it

Yep avoid flashing stuff for other devices. Most things will be recoverable but some can brick it. E.g. recoveries
Never ever use the command fastboot erase bootloader as this will 100% be a brick
I haven't seen anyone do it on the nexus 4 however i have seen people do it on the nexus 7

hi there, im using Cataclysm rom and i don't really like it. so is there a way for me to change it back to stock rom? thanks
If u made a backup just restore it in recovery, you should always have a backup in case you want to go back! If u dont have one you have to flash the factory image and lose all of ur data.

Get the factory image here, make sure you backup EVERYTHING including your internal storage: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occamjwr66v

In my Nexus 4 rooted was installed a rom AOKP but when I restart system, the OS donĀ“t detect simcard neither wifi...in settings wifi is undetected ON/OFF is disable, also without MAC number. I try to install an original rom stock android 4.3, using two methods from terminal and with Nexus Root Toolkit, but in both ways send me the follow message:
archive does not contain 'boot.sig'
archive does not contain 'recovery.sig'
archive does not contain 'system.sig'
and I believe that those files are my problem when I install android 4.3.
SOMEBODY HELP ME?
Signatures are not needed on the nexus. This is not the cause of your issue

do a clean install / stock 4.3 firmware
Those errors appear every flash for everybody. Your problem sounds like a radio issue. Does it show anything for baseband?
Did you actually wait for it to finish.
That screenshot you posted was still in the process of sending the system image to your phone
