first of all, it's dual, not duel. a duel is when you offend some bloke and then you shoot at each other, or stab each other to death. or be girls and slap each other with white gloves.
anyway, this phone is fast. loading pages cannot be a benchmark, since that depends on your connection. try playing some games, or using some cpu intensive apps. you'll see the difference.
and try not to troll. i mean wtf, your nexus one is faster than this phone. to quote the post above, as it really hits the spot: seriously!?
I don’t know if this is where you are seeing the difference.
I had a HTC legend and when scrolling web pages with a lot of images, I could never see the checker box appear. But in the SGS2 I see the checker box appear quite often, perhaps it's just me or the way the phone is set up, but either way it does not annoy me.
But when it comes to sheer speed the SGS2 eats the legend a million times over. The most noticeable difference can be seen when installing apps, the SGS2 is blazing fast!!

Just like this forum then .

HTC Legend uses a CPU browser, while GS2 uses a GPU browser making it way smoother, but checkerboxes appears.
Download Opera Mobile or Dolphin HD or something to make the checkerboxes disappear.

Theres an andriod phone that does not have checkered boxes? I thought that was only in safari!
I can assure you that my sgs2 on 800mhz max cpu speed will out bench your nexus one any day.

you could try flashing a newer version see if it helps.
go to menu > settings > about
and look at the "baseband" field to see what your current radio is.
should have a number like "KF2" or something

yes you will need to learn how to use ODIN and then use it to flash a newer modem and keep trying till you find the one that works best.

Don't be put off! Odin is an app that you run on your PC, you connect your phone in download mode (turn off then hold down volume down, home and power), download a file and then click a couple of buttons.
It's a doddle, as long as you follow instructions.
Now, finding the correct thing to flash to your phone is a different matter completely!
Yeah don’t be put off. Rooting is easy. I was also scared at first, but it's basically a 30 second process. Try CF-Root, it's easy, just make sure you download the correct firmware for the rooting process.
So I bought a vibrant 3g on Craigslist. I love it, its especially fantastic running passion ICS. But in settings>apps>running its only showing about 330mb of ram, about 200 of which is currently being used. I had an LG P500 Optimus T before this phone and both phones ate supposed to have 512mb of ram. But they usually don't show all 512, I.e. my O1 always showed about 450 of ram all together if that sounds right? Idk if the previous owner of this phone messed it up or not or whether it even needs needs to be fixed at all. Please let me know if anyone knows anything about this issue, thank you.

Well this happens because the OS it self needs ram to run an also the parts of the phone take up ram like the camera takes ram the Gpu takes up ram those are the only two i know of but it really doesn't matter but it does affect performance a little but hopefully google can slim down OS

Thanks y'all, I did a few Google searches and that's exactly what they said.
Another quick question; passion ICS is amazing on this phone but sometimes, occasionally, the touchscreen is unresponsive on the lock screen. Does anyone know any reasons why? Or any solutions to it? I've been looking around but I can't figure it out for the life if me. Thanks and God bless y'all.

I'm having the same issue, and im sure everyone else on V10 is too i hope it gets fixed in a update soon.
Meanwhile, if it happens, just lock your screen and unlock it again and that should fix it for that time.

the vibrants ram criples the phone. My cuzins infuse 4g with about 100 more free ram functions much better than my vibrant. it doesnt "hang" to free up ram and it can multitask 10 light apps instead of 4 or five like the vibrant. I love my vibrant, but my flash videos crashing and my fb app hanging just to free ram makes me pissed. dont even get me started on browser start up. Runing simply stock over here (better than simply honey and lighter).
So basically its the stock 4.0 browser with the chrome skin and no flash and as of yet no chrome plugin support. But try it out anyway.
Its never gonna support flash, just like android post-4.0

Awesome. Thanks for the heads-up! finally something that can compete with dolphin for pad...
I thought it was ICS only?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485495
I've been using it since yesterday on the CM9 KANG in my P7500. Have to say I'm VERY impressed. Seems faster and more "desktop-ish" than the stock browser. It surely deserves a try!
working fine for me but.....
After fooling around I can't find any way to set the user agent to desktop. Is there a way, a tweak for that yet? That's quite annoying
Its ICS Only!
Well, if anyone here is not using any of the Kang CM9 ports on their GT10.1, then you don't know what you're missing. No reason for anyone to be stuck on 3.2.
No flash, no YouTube desktop site, no good.

Actually I use it a lot for video calls. Every time I travel it is a great way to share views from my location.
Also with Google goggles I scan foreign signs and get it translated on the fly

Hello guys. I have had me N4 for about 3months or so maybe a little longer. I came for the HTC one S. Cracking phone that was.
Anyway my thread may seem a bit pointless it may not. I been playing around with the N4 and still feel I am missing something with it. Either be rooting it or something.
This maybe a hard thread to help me with, but try. I mean I would like to hear how you use your N4. Have you rooted it. Did it make the phone better.
I feel there things I can do more with contacts on my phone. Tips and tricks I am missing.
Any advice. Or help welcome.
Thanks.

It's bad enough they took away calling+4G LTE web browsing, but now this too?! -__-
Given that us Sprint users pay that mandatory $10 premium data charge this is ridiculous. We deserve to have download booster enabled. What a moronic move.
Being that the int'l variant is already rooted, I don't think it will be long before someone finds a way to enable this (hopefully).

The lockscreen widgets are used by choice, and the toggles are customizable. You can remove the items that you don't want to see.
While Download booster is certainly a great disappointment for me,I still have no reason to go for the S4. My main reason is the 801 processor.

Considering @sac23 got it working for our Sprint S4's weeks before the S5 was availabl, I'm not worried about that as much as I am about the no lockscreen widgets! Now I will defintiely be waiting a month or so to get this phone to see if the Devs can work their magic and get some of this stuff working OR if Sammy/Sprint pushes out an update.
But for now guys check out my thread about DL Booster Alternative.
