Im trying to get LiDroid on my brand new Note 3 SM-N900V. My Note is already rooted and has SuperSU on it the problem is that I need CWM on it and everytime I tried to use odin to flash the CWM custom recovery it says FAIL! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Far as I know you can't use cwm or twrp on the note 3!

You should read before trying to flash your device. There is no CWM or LiDroid for our phone's yet.

No, the N900 is not Verizon's. The N900V is Verizon's, the N900A is for AT&T, the N900P is for Sprint, N900T is for T-Mobile. Noticed how all of them have a letter after the N900? Need to make sure you choose the right now (the one with the V) if and when we do something that works with our device.

Hi, im trying to root my note 3 (SM-N9005) but im having troubles.
ive got the right Chainfire files and im following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
But my phone doesnt seem to finish or start for that matter the rooting process, i just get stuck at the part when the phone should just boot into recovery mode and the screen just has the note 3 logo and up in the left corner it sais:
Recovery Booting...
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
Set Warranty Bit : recovery
nothing else.
im posting here cause i dont have permission to post into the other thread.
anyone have ideas ? :cyclops:
Are you sure you have the right files ? For the n9005 ? (If that is your phone)
Are you on 4.3 or 4.4.2 ?

NOTE: Sometimes the device does *not* boot into recovery mode and root your device. Just do the entire procedure again if this happens. If it still will not install root and such, make sure that in Odin "Auto Reboot" is not checked. Then after flashing, pull the battery, and boot with VolUp+Home+Power button to boot into recovery manually. This will start the install process.
this? yes i tried it but it still does not boot into recovery, doesnt even boot loop just gets stuck in the screen i mentioned earlier
Now if i boot into download mode this is my screen
http ://i.imgur. com/SPO8jHF.jpg
Write protection: Enable ... is that something that can be a reason for this? :silly:
And what does Odin say ? If it says pass, you should do the "pull out battery and manually boot into recovery" and it should work. I still think you have the wrong file, maybe for 4.4.2 ? Maybe a bad download, try again.

Tell me, can I flash xnote rom with cf root?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
Lol, 4.3 or 4.4.2 ?
You could, but you'll need a custom recovery. But more I won't tell you. Spoon feeding is bad. :banghead:
And the fact, that you didn't see the link for the 4.3 file, wich was posted in the same sentence as the 4.4 link, I think you should really do some reading.
Every rom has its installation instructions written in the thread.

Yes sorry about that. I just need guidance I can't find a recovery via Cwm for instance and the x note thread doesn't seem to have an install guide , I just want a kit kat based rom for my note and the last time I flashed a recovery+rom it was a galaxy gio and that was done via sd card and 2 zip files hehe

See, that's why I hate this. How can you say it doesn't have a guide on how to install it, if it clearly does. My first custom rom, coming from 4.3 to 4.4 was xnote. And guess what, i flashed it with the help of the instructions posted on the site, and a bit of Google search too. Why do i even bother, I'm over and out. Maybe someone else will spoon feed you.

I dont know my phone is locked version or not.
On my galaxy s4 when I updated by odin I felt the phone became little slow.
I dont know should I do it on my note 3 or not
What do you guys on xda suggest?

I updated my phone to kit kat the same day that i got it, i havent noticed any slow downs at all, the only thing that i regret is that i update without thinking about a downgrade, so i whould sugest you to update using a firmware without a locked booloader.

Unless you have a specific model of Note 3 (N900W) the KK bootloader won't allow you to go back to JB.
If you have an N9005 I wouldn't recommend flashing N900W firmware as bricking can be upsetting...

Yes, but you can't go back to JB once you upgrade to KK...
Go to Sammobile.com to find out if your region has it. If not you can upgrade to another region's KK, just avoid carrier roms as they require a pit file to flash too...

1. Mine never has.
2. At Sammobile it says - UK (Vodafone) - this is a carrier rom.
If it says UK then its a generic stock rom...
You will have to re-root after update but make sure its the KK cf-autoroot (if you use that).
As you are rooted I'm assuming you have Knox warranty void at 0x1.
If not do a search on how to update to KK using Mobile ODIN, that way you can retain root but still have Knox at 0x0...

Hi,
I would like to know if I would be able to have safestrap installed on my Galaxy Note 3 N9005 International version? All the posts i've seen only shows it for carrier models. Is this possible.
Thanks.

Thank you for providing this link. It was very helpful.
One quick question though, I am interested in the MIUI V5 For Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 By Wonitor. In the thread you provided it suggests that I install roms with Philz Recovery however safestrap uses TWRP is this going to be problematic? I'm thinking that upon rooting the device I would not install a Custom recovery and go through the process and install safestrap recovery?
Thanks again.
Hello.
So i was going to root my brothers Note 3. Rooted the phone, installed ClockWorkRecovery and downloaded a rom.
So i wiped the phone, installed the rom.zip from ext-sdcard and the aroma installer came up, went through that, then nothing... the phone is stuck on the Note 3 Logo. ClockworkMod is MISSING ??? I cannot access it, cant even access bootloader.. the phone is bricked.
any ideas?

If you're installing on the AT&T Note III, there are some issues with what you're describing, one you can't install CWM on this device. I'm honestly not sure how you got any further
wow...you did absolutely no research before messing up your bro's phone....you prob need to odin back to stock...our att note 3 has a locked bootloader and there is no way to unlock it as of yet...you need safestrap recovery...not cwm...read the intro thread of rooting and flashing custom rom on the att note3 man

Depends on what model s4 they have. Just look in the thread for you specific model on how to root and what ROMs are available

TextNow uses the L720T (TriBand) model. I know BC I have one lol. I rooted simply by flashing TWRP 3.0.2.0 for "jfltespr" off TeamWin's site via ODIN, then proceeding to flash the SuperSU zip inside recovery. However, word of the wise, if you're using TextNow Wireless, don't change the ROM!! You will lose the connection between TextNow and Sprint, meaning you'll have 2 different numbers and it messes stuff up. Fun fact in case you didn't know, TextNow S4s are SIM unlocked (GSM will not work in United States, CDMA will though):good:
