I bought a NOTE 3 N9000 in the U.S. for use on T-Mobile in Hungary (Europe.), and the question is can I active the phone and use it in Hungary.
I am reading what seems to be contradictory information about regional locking and un-locking on this and other sites
By the way doesn't anybody have a list of countries by region?
Thanking in advance for your time and patience
I guess not. US gsm bandwidth is different than in EU.
Plus, regional lock.

Hello I just bought N4 - hw rev 10. Currently running latest PA but this happened on stock 4.2.1 as well - when I search for carriers I've got good number 4 but every carrier has the same name as my mother network. So instead of seeing Orange, Plus, t mobile - I see play play play on the list. Play is my mother network. Tried reset and other rom as well with other kernel. My only idea is to replace sim card to proper microsim because currently owned was made by cutting sim with special tool and is 4 years old.

Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9500) currently running Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. I bought my phone abroad in Gibraltar in September 2013 and it was unlocked to any network. As the phone was not bought in the UK, my phone is not locked to any carrier and therefore the carrier cannot send the settings needed to update my phone to 4G. I have been in contact with my carrier (three) and they have told me that it is not a problem on their end as my phone is unlocked. They have advised me to go to a Samsung Shop so that they can sort it out for me but i was wondering if there was a way i would be able to fix it myself?
Here are some details about phone:
Model Number - GT-I9500
Android Version - 4.4.2
Baseband Version - I9500XXUFNC1
I'm pretty sure the GT-I9500 is not capable of LTE.

I have looked a lot online and i am pretty sure that it is capable of LTE. I might need to double check with Samsung to be sure but my research online has said that the I9505 is not LTE and the I9500 is. There is mass confusion over their capabilities though so i am not 100% sure.
I9500 doesn't support LTE. I9505 supports it. I own I9505 and LTE is working fine.

Not sure where online your finding BS that says the i9500 has LTE (4G) you had better delete it from your bookmarks.

I am the owner of both the Honor 7 Euro 16GB version (PLK-L01) and the Chinese 64GB version (PLK-AL10) so I thought it would be useful to put together some of the differences in case anyone is considering one or the other. I will list the Euro device feature vs Chinese device feature:
Hardware
Cardboard box vs Solid Plastic presentation box which doubles as a bedside stand
16GB vs 64GB
No NFC vs NFC
Software
Google Apps preloaded vs Google Play Store must be installed via the Honor Market and then apps installed from there
No call recording vs Built-in call recording
Nav bar is configurable but not hideable vs Nav bar is configurable and also hideable
3rd tab on Dialler is SMS messages vs 3rd tab on Dialler is "Yellow Pages" which is a Chinese equivalent of True Dialler and of no real use outside China (the SMS app is separate to the dialler, but cannot be disabled)
A little bloatware vs A little more bloatware, most of which can be uninstalled
The Chinese version can be used quite nicely in Europe with very little Chinese showing up. Both devices have Marshmallow beta versions available, though I suspect the Chinese version will get updates sooner as they won't have to go through Google accreditation.
The devices are outwardly visibly the same.
Thanks I really wanted to see something like this. But a little mistake was made - 16gb vs 64gb ROM not RAM ;D

Are you sure? If it was Read Only Memory, you wouldn't be able to save anything to it. Lol

I add that 64GB version (Chinese) is in Gold design wchich is great
p.s. I use Chinese 64 GB version in Europe with no problems

Nope, I'm sure. ROM is divided in to partitions one for the system files which we don't have acces to and the other one wich is for the apps, video, music, photos, all the files we store in the phone. It's the permanent memory, while RAM is temporary memory which resets everytime you clear it or turning off the phone/computer. European honor has 2GB RAM and Chinese has 3GB RAM

I stand corrected.
However, you have a small mistake - European and Chinese Honor 7 both have 3GB RAM
LTE Bands
Hi AMoosa, are you able to test differencies in FDD LTE bands support between this two versions? Mainly if chinese version suport FDD LTE B7 2600 MHz band. Thansk.
there is however another difference, the Chinese one is far more expensive to obtain.......
With the discounts that Huawei sometimes posts, in the UK the European costs 209GBP and the Chinese one I haven't seen cheaper than 317GBP online.....
Chinese honor 7 doesn't have 4g in 800mhz band, in europe . It's disabled

You are right. My 16GB cost 209.99 and the Chinese one cost 320. However, you get a lot more for the extra 110 quid - 4 times as much memory, NFC, and more functionality in call recording etc. I felt it was worth it. Normally phones cost 100 more for each memory step eg 16GB to 32GB.

Is the Chinese model worth buying in 2016 for use in the USA?
I'm on T-Mobile and am debating whether to get this phone or a different model
Hello,
I have a friend who has the Mate 8 in version 64Go/3Go with and model NXT-AL10.
He has setuped his phone for France ie DL play store, and change some stuff but he doesn't change the rom for a NXT-L29.
So everything works but the logo "4G+" is never displayed.
He has tried all mobile phone providers : Orange, Bouygues Telecom, Free, RED.
It never happened. Always 4G but never 4G+.
When he try to benchmark the network he has a high rate for a 4G connection but never go beyond the theorical value of a 4G rate.
So he supposes that the logo and rates are 4G (he hopes having the logo 4G and the rate of 4G+ connnection but in fact No).
Do you have an idea of this issue ?
Best Regads,
NXT-AL10, stock rom, stock bootloader, no root or bl unlock - CA works fine in Poland.

The 4G+ symbol is not used by Huawei, so don't worry.
Ok so that's why it is never displayed.
Many thanks themissionimpossible.
He told me on his Mate 7 (he had just before) it was displayed 4G+.
So that why he is surprised that is doesn't work now on the Mate 8.
I suppose that is due to the rom NXT-AL10.
The chinese mobile does not try to merge frequencies 2600Mhz and 800Mhz that are the 2 frequencies used for 4G+ connection in France.
But I am not sure that is the source isssue.
On this French website about 4G+ in France the Mate 8 is said to be compatible:
http://www.cnetfrance.fr/produits/4...ibles-et-la-couverture-en-france-39808303.htm
I don't think there might be differences between AL10 and L29.

Yes I also found this source.
So that's why we (my friend and I) are thinking about the fact that this issue may come from the AL10 version.
In fact if someone could have a AL10 version with the 4G+ symbol.
It will be a great news.

Hi pk.waw,
I saw your message, but may be his phone might display 4g+ in Poland. The fact that 4g+ in france is the fusion of 2600mhz and 800mhz make a differemce with poland.
I told him to check that if he goes in poland.
nxt-al10, [email protected] version at China Unicom operator is working greatly, So i have the 4G symbol.
Maybe it´s can be related with kind of LTE. China Unicom use FDD-LTE.
Hi pk.waw,
Might you provide me a screenshort please ?
Best Regards,
Possible solution
Please open Settings, go to More section and open Mobile networks, turn LTE 6 CA trigger on.

Makes no difference. There is no 4G+ icon in the framework (up to firmware 172 at least), already looked for it.

Hi Fabriziio,
Don't waste your time, it seems that only NXT-L09 can aggregate those 2 frequencies.
It's very odd cause the official version in France is the NXT-L29.
Could a software solution be found for this issue...

Very interesting many thanks.
On the mate 7 this kind of configuration was possible with the file "update_cust.app"
But I don't know how to do the same thing on the Mate 8.
I contacted the VMALL support to ask them which version of the Mate 8 is sold (NXT-L09 or NXT-L29).
They told me that is the L29. So I will not buy the Mate 8 because thanks to "grofock" I know that the NXT-l29 does not support 4G+ in France and doesn't support the band B28 700Mhz and is only available in 32Go.
If it was the L09 may be I should have taken it.
So do you think that the NXT-L09 will works in France with 4G+ :

All features should be ok and available.

However the L09 is the single SIM model, so this might be the reason of the available LTE band aggregation.
The new Huawei P9 Plus will be single SIM in Europe.
Ok but I don't understand why a mobile which is single or dual sim change anything about its band aggregation.
Hello everyone, I wonna buy S8 plus G955U USA Version and use in Europe., and i have question.
1. I can use Andorid Pay in europe have Poland credit card ?
2.Will the system have a Polish language ?
I wonna buy USA version because probably USA Version have better Audio quality because have other dac this is true ?
Thanks and Regards
Android Pay starts but i don't have supported cc to check it, it works with custom bank tap to pay services so with android pay should as well.
No full translation to polish. You can add language in settings, but it's mixed and sucks tbh.
About dac i have no idea because I simply don't care.
Worth to mention that theres no Wi-Fi calling and volte on my carrier (orange) on usa/Canadian firmwares.
No lte advance (lte+) but lte coverage and reception is awesome.
