[Q] Multi Window greyed out.... - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm rooted with Root de la Vega....I've experience little to no problems until now but updated a few apps last night....now my multi-window functionality is lost. It has greyed out the option to turn it on in settings.
What happened? Has anyone else experienced this? Do I need to perform a factory restore to fix it?

If the toggle isn't working try going into stock recovery and wipe your cache. That doesn't work the factory reset

The Message "Config stopped" keeps appearing on my Nexus 7 screen and it jumps into repeated rebooting.

Are you using a custom ROM? If so, do a full factory reset and wipe the caches. Then install the latest version of the ROM (make sure it is not a known bug of the ROM too). Don't restore your apps via an app backup thing. If you must, do them one at a time so you can identify if one of the apps is causing the problem.
If you arent on a custom ROM, consider uninstalling all apps that are risky, then reinstall one at a time.
Next wipe the data of any system apps that could cause this problem.
If this doesn't work, do a factory reset. You may need to return to stock using adb to wipe the dalvik and cache (I don't know if factory reset doesn't this anyway).
I hope this helps
Thanks, I will try the latter, as I'm not rooted. Will keep you posted.

Re hiding developer options?

Once you have unlocked developer options is there a way to re hide it again?
I tried clearing the cache in the settings app but it didn’t work. I don’t have the option to clear data in the app as suggested elsewhere.
I think there is no way to revert it,
Other than reflashing to stock via odin,
What's done cannot be undone (insert dramatic sound here)

Why of you want to do that..
It's just so nobody can mess with it in future. It doesn't really matter. I only opened it to check a setting for a problem I am having.
1) Backup data
2) Factory reset
3) Restore data
4) Profit

Life's too short lol . Didn't do a factory reset on my S3 for the whole time I had it and it really could have used it.
There is a solution in the nexus forum but for some reason it doesn't work here. I can live with it for now.

[Q] Notification Pull Down not working after 4.3 OTA

A friend of mine just updated her Nexus 4 to 4.3 via OTA. Since the update several background apps kept crashing repeatedly, but she uninstalled them before I could get her to check what the exception message was. After removing the apps everything seems to be working except the Notification Pull Down. Notification Icons correctly display in the Status Bar, but you can't actually open the Notifications. Try as you might it just refuses to open. The phone has been rebooted several times to no avail.
I've searched several threads but haven't found anything even remotely similar to this. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm not sure what App affects notifications to even try clearing data on. I've thought about removing her google account cpmpletely and readding it, but I'm helping her over text, so trying to keep the complicated solutions for when we've tried everything else.
Any suggestions or ideas would be very greatly appreciated!
Has she wiped dalvik cache? I think that not wiping dalvik can cause apps to crash.
Try to reflash the ROM and wipe cache & dalvik, and do a factory reset and optionally wipe /system partition.

The phone is completely stock, non-rooted, locked bootloader, running stock 4.3 OTA.
I'm trying to find GUI solution that doesn't involve installing a custom recovery. Thanks for the idea though.
Doing a factory reset seems like the only logical thing to try, in case you don't want to unlock your bootloader and install a custom recovery. Beware, you will lose your apps and their data.
You can try to reflash the ROM again, but I don't know what's the procedure with the stock software. If you can just apply update from .zip, than you should be able to do that from the stock recovery. I never had any OTA update so I can't help you further unfortunately.

Help needed for factory resetting on Lollipop

Hey guys, I have Lollipop 5.0 on my Nexus 4 and just got the notification for 5.0.1. I'd like to update my phone to the latest version and then do a factory reset. I've already backed up all of my data that I need. However I've read on some forums that doing a factory reset with Lollipop automatically turns on Encryption on the device and this causes performance issues and slows down the phone. There is a way to factory reset and not to enable the encryption as well? Or is there no other option other than encrypting the phone? Can someone also explain how the encryption works? Does it decrypt the phone when you switch it on or when you unlock it from sleep and why does it cause performance issues?
Many thank.
Can anyone help?

[Q] Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.

I'm a root user, Titanium Backup installed and that's the second time i flash Android 5.0 and after a while i got this error. Tried factory reset, wipe data, wipe cache/dalvik and didn't worked out.
Tried entering in Safe Mode and the error is persistent.
Is there something i can do?
I'm using GalaxyS4 Settings for Froyo~JB (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ion.setting) and with it i'm able to got into some of my settings, but the stock app doesn't work by itself.
Is there some way of flashing the stock Settings app again?
Another weird thing is that my SPen does not take screenshots anymore and that only happens with Android L (5.0).
