Resetting flash bin counter - Galaxy Tab 2 General

Hello guys I know there are several apps available to achieve this,I wanna know whether resetting this counter will remove custom recovery CWM from my phone,,,because I still need to install custom ROMs which can't be installed through stock recovery

No it doesn't
You can use TriangeAway by chainfire. It does not affect your recovery or your rom.

Back to stock from custom ROM and Recovery?

I'm running a custom 4.2.2 GE ROM and want to return to my stock ROM. Currently my device has CWM as the recovery and is rooted. Am I able to just flash my stock ROM through odin? Should I use triangle away first, also do I need to install stock recovery? I have read the unroot guide and I understand how to flash just need to know the answers to these questions before I flash. Thank you in advance.

That TW recovery will be there but i m not vry sure that u can use the same on the Ge version rom thats the reason i told u to get back to stock and then work for TA etc for safety of ur device
Thanks for your quick replies, downloading my stock firmware now. Will post how it all goes.
Run Triangle away, clear the counter, go directly to download mode from there. Flash stock rom with odin (it includes everything including recovery rom modem kernel).
After it is done, go into recovery with the 3 button combo (this time you will see the standard stock recovery, do a factory reset there and you are set). Just remember, doing a factory reset in stock recovery also formats the internal sdcard (the internal phone storage), so be sure to have a backup of any files photos or whatever you have there because you will lose them.
Worked perfectly thank you both for your help.

it isn't possible to get back to stock recovery by just flashing a stock recover zip? Is flashing the complete stock rom the only way?

Yes, I managed it. I used CWM Recovery and CM10.2 - a little more detail here, hope that helps.
Yes, you can install custom recovery and ROM but you can't downgrade from the new MH8 bootloader at the moment and I think Triangle Away doesn't work with the new bootloader
ok thanx, i have now CWM instaled, now i have count binary set to 3, i need to know if i can run triangle away last chainfire, to set it 0..any one plz
It work..i reset my binary counter to 0, with triangle away 3.05..

Backing up Original frameware.

So I been reading that you need to be rooted to be able to backup the original frameware .\From what I've read the .tar file you flash in Odin is a modified kernel .so after you root you would have a Root+recovery image of the original frameware .
What I'm trying to achieve is to get a full backup of my original frameware, kernel and efs. Before I go balls out off this phone .
I have a i9500 (Baseband i9500ubuamde) Android 4.2.2 . the carrier is Claro ,Dominican republic .
Apparantly you don't even need root to do backup (nandroid).
1. Flash custom recovery (philz) via Odin with phone in download mode.
2.Reboot into recovery.
3.Backup.
Make sure you get recovery for your i9500 and not the i9505.

To my under standing CWM works directly with the kernel so to even achieve that you would need root access .. Now I'm confused . Well ,I found the original frameware and kernel so I'm downloading that now . Seems i need to root the device in order to achieve every of the things I want.
Edit- yes sorry you are using sgs4.
Clockworkmod (ROM manager) only needs root access if you are using the app from the market, if your only using custom recovery you don't even need the app!
BTW recovery doesn't touch kernel and I don't even believe rooting (with cf-autoroot) touches the kernel either so I'm not sure what your reading that's giving you all this information that isn't quite right.

You dont need to do that. Every rom should be available for download. So that includes the one currently installed on your phone.
What you want to achieve is to my knowledge not possible and completely unnecessary. If you want to return your phone to it's original state, you just flash the rom you are currently on true Odin.
ps root and custom recovery are seperate packages. So if you apply one, you won't have the other. You need to apply both.

[Question] Knox and custom rom

Hello,
A friend of mine have a Galaxy note II N7100 with android 4.3 N7100XXUEMK8 so with knox crap

Just open Odin, connect the phone in DOWNLOAD mode and via AP flash Philz 5.15
That is all.
When I do this and try to enter recovery it just bootloop
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Found a fix for that problem
I just re-rooted my phone yesterday (after i bricked my N7105), i would assume the steps are similar.
1. Follow the standard steps to root the phone with Odin.
2. If encounter bootloop, you may have to download the default stock and re-flash the phone to its factory state.
3. After you managed to root the phone, somehow the Knox protection will disable your Super SU. Go to play store, update your Super SU. After the update, run the Super SU. There should be a prompt/popup for you to disable Knox.
4. After step 3, you will be able to install custom rom easily with rom manager =)

Should I reroot?

Hi,
When towelroot came out I installed it on my note 3 so I could get root without tripping knox. Last night I installed safestrap to get a custom rom without tripping knox, but when I installed alliance rom on rom slot 1 it somehow also installed the TWRP recovery and tripped knox. So now that my warranty is void anyway I was thinking about
installing another rom, just the normal way.
My question is if I should I unroot my phone first and root it the root de la vega method or can I just install whatever rom or recovery I want with my current settings/configuration? Also when I boot my phone into download mode I still get the custom OS warning, I don't know if that's a problem or should I press continue there?

Since you have tripped knox, no worry anymore on warranty. If you plan to flash new rom, you are always advised to have clean installation, meant to clean everything, else you will experience unnecessary problem. To backup your current setting, download titanium backup to make your apps and setting backup. You need to spend some time to familiarize with TB. It is very handy to help u restore previous rom settings and apps.
You do not need to unroot your current rom.

@Marcel94 :
I have never use safestrap anyway... so I have no idea how it works actually.
But... a clean installation will be good.
Grab latest firmware nd flash through odin, and go to recovery stock and do factory reset.
Then root with cf-autoroot, flash cwm/twrp.
Then flash ur rom.

Thanks for the advise guys! What do you mean with "go to recovery stock"? Will my recovery be stock again if I flash the latest firmware through odin? Nevermind, I already flashed the stock rom and got stock recovery, thanks!
