I'm having some other intermittent random screen errors so I may just have bad screen, but has anyone else had their keyboard kind of stop taking swype input. It's hard to describe, but normally you rest your finger on the first letter of a word, then swype around, and you can see the blue line wherever you finger goes. Well randomly, but fairly often when I am inputting words it stops working, I put my finger down on a letter and nothing happens, slide it around and no blue line or input. Sometimes if I randomly tap any letter it starts working again, or if I lift my finger and try again, although sometimes it takes several tries.

Hi,
I've had my Hermes for about a month now. On about 4 occassions I've pulled the keyboard to use it and input will not be 'received' properly. It seems the Hermes gets stuck in a 'mode'.
Some of the keys work... like at the moment I clicked forward on an email, slid the keyboard out to start typing but the letters did not work. Pressing 'Return' activates the start menu, however.
I started pressing random things to get it work: I pressed the green phone button to get to the dialer, tapped the X for the dialer to get back to the email and now the keyboard is working again. Weird!
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

If you can rule out software issues then there is a push on multi connector inside that may not be pressed in firmly!

I've had this problem sometimes. If I 'beat the phone' to it, or catch it mid-thought, as it were... Just have to be a bit slower with it. Seems that I slide the keyboard out before it has time to allocate the appropriate amount of CPU time to flipping the screen and initialising the hardware input, so it either takes a few presses for it to register, or it just gets stuck in keyboard-in mode, and I have to soft reset to make it work.
Happened on my old Hermes, not happened yet (touch wood) on my new replacement.
Hello,
I've a trouble with my beloved Tytn:
when I tap near the center of the screen, usually the tap doesn't work properly, but it seems that I tap to the bottom left of the screen, and not to the center.
This trouble causes the tapping of the left softkey, and for example when I'm typing an sms, it send...
I've tried to adjust the screen alignment, many times, but it doesn't work.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Does it happen constantly, or intermittently? I've noticed something similar on my 8525; When using the stylus, all of the presses are registered perfectly, but when using my fingers, the phone seems to have a hard time registering the press. Often times, when I'm using a touch keyboard, it will react as if I had pressed the "X" in the top right corner.
Like I said, it never does that with the stylus, just when I'm using my fingers. I think that the touch screen driver or whatever on this particular device has a hard time registering the presses from a larger-surfaced object like a thumb.
It happens some times, and only with use of fingers (and I have not hotdog-like fingers...).
I don't know how to solve this trouble, but it's difficult to work with that.
Oh, so it sounds like your issue is similar to mine. See, I think that the software that detects the on-screen presses is most likely calibrated for the stylus (hence why you use the stylus to align the screen when you first boot the OS). I think that it has difficulty detecting larger surface contact, which causes it to freak out and detect the press wrong.
This has bugged me for a while, too. It even happens when I'm using my thumb to hit the tabs on HTC Home; I'll hit a tab and the task manager from the upper right corner (I use O2 Plus 2.0) will drop down. Very annoying.
Anynody else have any ideas?
I've had a look around and found issues relating to freezing on the lock screen and in calls but nothing to do with SMS's.
If i'm constantly texting on my HD2, every other minute or so after sending/receiving around 30 texts my phone starts to lag, and soon after gets to the point that replying to a message is near impossible. For some reason it really doesn't like picking up spaces when I'm typing, eventually getting to the point where it won't recognise any input, and attempting to press any of the hard keys doesnt work, except the lock key, which shows half of the lock screen where the keypad was, but the top half of the screen still remains in the text input window.
Is anyone else having this problem? The only way I can solve it is to pull the battery!
sometimes.. like a frequency of 1 in 20 text messages sent (yeah i just got it today.. been firing them thangs off lmao)
anyway, sometimes when i swipe using the LG keyboard, it drops off the word i'm trying to form and just takes the first 1 or 2 or 3 letters and starts a new word. happens when i press down hard or when i try to swipe softly and smoothly. but then after i spell out the word and send the message, the next time i type one it's working fine
thoughts?
So this is my second going on my third Note 3. The first one had a faulty speaker right out of the box (very scratchy and low in volume). Bang my second one in and less than a week later... the phone is acting up. The bottom 1/4 of the screen doesn't work properly. For example: if you open a text message thread and try to tap the box to open the keyboard it wont work! I found my self tapping it repeatedly over and over again. Sometimes it will eventually open.
Problem 2: typing. If i hit space bar, it will double space, hit the letter b or v or both. Also if i am using any keys at the bottom it will either miss my input or hit 3 others.
Problem 3: Happens rarely. The phone goes beserk once you tap it. For example. I dailed 0 and all of a sudden #* 0 191 etc were hitting dozens of times. Apps opened closed at lightening speed.
One test I can do that works all the time is hold the Q button on the keyboard and slide my finger along the keyboard working my way down. It shouldn't hit any other keys and it should just slide.. but once i head south of the H button all the keys I slide my finger across start going bezerk...
anyway im going to return my note 3 in hopes for a better working one...
