Hey, does anyone know how to check to see what the life of the battery in my s4 is? I was wondering if there was a way to test the condition of the battery and how much life it has left.

now I know there are many software out there that measures battery life, but non of them works very well on wizard
so Im thinking about making a program that runs on background and quickly drain the battery
we can then time the battery drain and post it on xda developers to compair
this way we can have a good measurement of how healthy the battery really is, and can have a good measurement on how much battery does todays plug-in or oampclock really consume
OR if anyone knows a good way to measure battery life, please tell me.
To help improve battery life, should EVO 4G owners run the battery to empty when they first get the phone? Anyone have a definitive answer on this?
I got my EVO 4G from the Google IO conference. I am not trying to make commentary on the battery. I simply want to know for certain if running the battery down is a good idea.

Running the battery down does not improve battery life. What it does do is calibrate the battery meter in the phone so you get a more accurate indication of battery life.
I've really loved my Nexus 4, except the battery life is just awful. I've used different kernels, undervolted, switched to 2G, turned brightness down and everything else you can do with the software to get more out of the battery.
Since I bought it used, I'm thinking maybe the battery is a little old and could use replacing. Is there a way to tell before I waste any money buying another stock battery? Like a sensor on the battery that tells you how healthy the battery is and if it still holds a good charge?
Also, are there any options for extended batteries besides the Mugen extended battery case? It's almost as much as I paid for the phone!
Thanks for any suggestions
Provide some screenshots from Betterbatterystats or Wakelock detector after using the phone from a full charge to the point before ready to recharge .

Most Likely Yes, But Your Usage Is The Largest Factor Discerning Whether a Battery Is Healthy. Install Betterbatterystats And GSAM Battery Monitor To Find Out What is draining your battery and which wakelocks are preventing deep sleep. Check your usage if it seems normal. Then the battery is the problem
