I recently (and stupidly) upgraded to the MF3 Build. I rooted my device and removed bloatware. In the process of removing Samsung and AT&T apps I didn't think were important I rebooted and found my Screen stays on constantly and WILL NOT timeout. The quick touch power button timeout does not work as well. I have been simply turning down my brightness until I can figure out which system application I need to reload. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Obviously I feel stupid.
Obviously if I wasn't on MF3 I would just ODIN a full stock package back on but with good ol' MF3 I do not have that option.
Thoughts?

I just updated to MF9. I ended up doing a complete Odin wipe with the complete MDC package, updated to MDL, then installed MF9. I could not get MF9 to come up from the update menu - even with a completely stock phone. I had to apply the downloaded zip.
I then rooted using the CF-autoroot method. Running on stock recovery, stock kernel. I disabled a couple of apps I don't use through App Manager only (not TiB) to make sure I'm not disabling anything crucial.
This morning, I noticed that when the keyboard pops up (this is the Samsung keyboard) I can usually type 2 words and then the keyboard freezes. I can't make it go away with the back button. Sometimes it will unfreeze after 30-45 seconds and disappear, sometimes I have to reboot the phone. Even if I use a task killer (I use Watchdog Pro) the keyboard overlay persists even after I kill the "keyboard" process.
Anyone experience this? This NEVER happened under MDL.
I don't really see much difference between the two. I was hoping that we would get new camera firmware because both my and my wife's S4's have some camera lag and terrible low light performance which the firmware is supposed to fix, but apparently only AT&T got the new firmware.
I haven't really been hurting for space since I got a class 10 64gig MicroSD card so so far, I'm not that impressed with the update for me it broke something that worked, and didn't address any of the problems I was having.
looks like I solved it.
I went back to MDL and reinstalled MF9 again. everything worked until I started messing with settings.
Apparently having the language update checkbox checked is what did it. If I don't check any language update checkboxes on everything works fine so looks like a combination of bad reception and the keyboard app trying to check for updates while it's in use is what did it. It's odd since the phone was on Wifi, but whatever.

I rooted my phone using CWM and flashed TriForceROM a few months ago, and everything was wonderful till about a month or so afterward, and now at random when it's idle it'll crash? I'll go to unlock it, the Menu and Back buttons on the bottom will flash, and then I'll have to wait a few minutes and press the power button (sometimes a couple times) and after vibrating once or twice it'll boot up to the Samsung splash screen.
I managed to do some research and found it might be just because it's rooted, but since the problem didn't start until a good bit after the root I was thinking maybe (hopefully) it's something else? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Any help appreciated ^_^
Crap, I just realized this isn't in the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 thread >_< That's what I get for paying attention, how can I move this?
So I have my AT&T Galaxy S4 on stock 4.3 mk2 rooted, and every now and then my phone decides to lock itself to where I have to enter the pattern except the screen doesn't respond until I restart the phone. However holding the power button does bring the shut down, restart and airplane options up in which the screen does respond. It's a very annoying issue and I still have a year and a half with this thing to go, so any idea on how to fix it? Or even what caused it? Only "custom recovery" is safestrap which has been installed and unused for a while
Thanks in advance
try not using pattern unlock and see--

I had some lag issues too when my S4 did the ota from mf3 to mk2. Various apps would freeze or f/c, or at times not even open when selected. I took it to Samsung Experience Center (this was before XDA got tar files) & they re-flashed 4.3 on my phone. That solved everything. Phone was fast and lag free even stock with all the bloat ware. So perhaps try flashing mk2 and see if that solves your problems.
Hi Guys,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S5 (G900F), and pretty much since day one had random freezing ie. unable to wake phone from standby.
The alert light still flashes as if the phone is on, but the phone does not wake.
Putting the phone into recovery sometimes is achievable, otherwise I take the battery out, ( I reboot, clearing cache etc on a daily basis.)
However, I get still get this problem.... I am not sure if this related to kitkat 4.4.2, or whether 4.4.3 will fix this.
I am using Omega ROM 5.0 (4.4.2)
Used titanium backup for restore.
I have tried the phone without the backup. and I still get this problem.
Any ideas, thanks in advance!
If this is a duplicate, please let me know which thread I should look at. I have read a few with no success.

Have MJE and had stopped OTAs. Would like to move forward to lollipop on this phone. 2 different questions:
1. Would I be able to install a lollipop ROM from MJE or is it already locked down with no options
2. Phone is in "custom" mode. Can I just reenable OTA updates and let it receive updates OTA without bricking or does the knox need reset first? Not worried about warranty issues.
Please spare the flames, I dont know what I am doing much but can follow instructions and I am just looking for a little help. Dont want to blow my phone out and not be able to do anything with it. Thanks!

Im in the same boat with you. Im still on 4.3/MJE/Stock/Rooted. I rooted with RootMaster when i got the phone over a year ago and disabled OTA updates. Its been an awesome phone but recently been having glitches (screen flickers randomly when on and auto adjust brightness is turned off and google maps cannot find my location, the GPS icon never comes on anymore, other mapping apps still work fine) and ive had to disable my google play services from killing my battery. Also my music has been stuttering on poweramp (not sure if it is just a app issue). Another thing Ive noticed is when i restart my phone its been doing a double bootloop, it gets to the launcher screen then immediatly reboots, but then fully boots up the second time.
Any suggestions anyone? I want to keep root and dont mind stock. Go launcher gives me most of the customization i need, really only need root for AdAway (which doesnt work so well anymore), Gemini App Manager- so i can keep certain apps from startup upon boot, SD speed increase (which im not really sure actually does anything), and of coarse TITANIUM.
Do i need to do an ODIN flash or TWRP or CWM? Can i just hit the factory reset and keep my root? Maybe flash up to 4.4.2? I keep seeing that 4.4.4 and higher cant be rooted unless im mistaken.
Any direction from someone knowledgeable would be greatly appreciated.
