I just bought the a LG d802 without carrier lock.
I have never tried to call somebody until today.
I'm rooted but on stock rom with few changes...
And I can't make any calls. I press on a contact and the app loads one millisecond then back to the dial pad... Even on other phone apps
Does anyone know what to do?
I found the culprit! Tasker somehow cancelled all my calls. It still does even with all profiles turned of so don't know what's causing it... Some setting in tasker? Memory error?

Try a factory reset & see of that will fix the problem

Hey everyone,
I have a regular GS4 and haven't changed anything, stock firmware, stock rom, not rooted. So I have the problem when I have a phone call, after like 1 minute the person on the other side can't hear me anymore for like 3-4 seconds and this repeats every 3-5 minutes. First I thought its because I was in a building, but this happens everywhere and also with full signal strength.....so what is the problem?
Everything else works fine, but this is realy annoying because this is really on every call.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Strange problem, maybe it's network related? Try flashing another modem. Google modems for your model of Gs4

Please... DO NOT flash anything... Check if Your problem persist with Your SIM and another phone and Your phone and another SIM (from different network). If it's phone related - go to service and do not play with modems as it won't probably change anything.
Actually, yes. As slig said, if your phone isn't rooted then it's best to take it to your carrier or to samsung under warranty.

Sometimes when I send a text message it just keeps trying to send it and sometimes just fails, sometimes the delay is for a min and any message sent during that time won't send :/ its really frustrating and irritating, there are no fixed patterns and it just happens, some day it wont happen some day 5 out of 10 messages will do this. I can't find any solution to this problem anywhere. I use evolve sms but it also happened with the stock one. Any kinda help will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's what happens when your phone cannot find a signal. Sometimes your phone will say it has a signal but will not be able to send anyway. Simply reboot the phone to reset the connection. You should reboot your phone at least once a day to refresh all connections and get rid of ongoing processes.
Hmmm ok if i restart it works for a while, but have to do it much more than once a day :/ Restarting works as a temporary solution. Any other permanent solution?

Hi to you all.
Today I bought a used S5. I met the seller on a coffee shop as agreed and checked that the phone was ok, no marks, no scratches, wifi worked and so on.
Some minutes later I got a message saying "SECURITY WARNING - UNAUTHORIZED ACTIONS HAVE BEEN DETECTED. RESTART YOUR PHONE TO CANCEL THEM".
My network signal is lost...and although i restarted the phone, the message keep popping up and my cell signal disappears!
I've searched the internet for some solution and so far most of the forums I saw, stated it was some app that messed up my kernel (indeed one app tries to get root access as soon as I tried to start the phone).
Is it normal to loose the cell signal?
Is this something that can be solved with installing an original ROM from sammobile or is this a stolen S5?
Contact the seller.
Maybe it is because you put another sim card and is locked.
Or try to do a factory reset.

So I did a full original rom instalation, via ODIN. Now the phone is ALMOST working ok....but I don't receive any calls nor I can make any calls.
Sometimes I have acess to mobile data....but that's it.
How can I solve this? How can I know what's the problem?
It might be because of Knox
Have a look at this

Hi guys!
I seem to be the only guy with an Android phone in 2015 having problems with a substantial delay before my phone starts ringing when receiving a call.
I have an application that checks incoming phone numbers (that are not present in my Contacts) and displays a splash screen pretty immediately but the person making the call usually hears about 3-4 tones before my phone starts ringing. Does anyone know how to fix this problem because a lot of callers get the satisfaction of saying "you asleep?" constantly when calling me in the morning.
I have an unrooted i9505 running official Android 5.0.1
PS: The workaround to extend the time before it goes to voice mail is decent but I'd like to get this solved instead.
Many thanks and best regards,

That app is causing the delay.
Thanks for writing!
I tried uninstalling the app and experience no change, I'm afraid.

Thats strange. I haven't heard anyone about a similar issue, so I assumed it was because of that app.
I would then suggest backing up and performing a factory reset. I think that will be the easiest and the fastest method.

Yeah, the app causing the problem would have been almost too easy. I'll gather courage to perform a factory reset and let you know.
Thanks!

Back after a reset now (I really hate doing them)
The delay is still there though. It MIGHT have been a little better though, between the 2nd and 3rd signal my phone started ringing.
Anymore ideas?

Some more observations: any music player or etc seems to stop pretty much immediately when another person calls. Then there is a couple of seconds of silence before the phone shows the call and it starts ringing. It's like the phone knows it's getting a call but is having problems telling me about it...

You could try another modem and/or firmware. Other then that, I have no idea.

Yeah, I guess I'll just have to root it again and take it from there.
Thanks anyway!

Do you have the same problem with another sim? Sometimes strange problems are due to sim card or sd cards. You can also try that.

Thanks for the tip. I could always try and remove my SD-card but I have no spare SIM-card to try with.
Regards,
Hi,
Try to look into your build.prop if there is a value for ro.telephony.call_ring.delay
If yes, change value to 0
If not, add this line at the end of build.prop :
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=0
Save and reboot.
Hello edzamber and thanks for the tip!
I added the line as it was nowhere to be found and rebooted.
Still 3-4 tones before my damn phone cares to start ringing...
I tried setting the value to 1 instead and now it seems to ring after 2-3 tones. Not sure if the build.prop-editing caused that, though...
It seems I solved this!
Not exactly which action of the following that did the trick but I went to Settings > More > Application Manager and cleared the Data for all three(!?) instances of the Dialer-app. In addition, I cleared the call log directly from within the Dialer-application (420 records).
Now my phone lights up pretty much instantly when I call it from another phone!
Anyone else find that every once in a while you'll call someone and won't be able to hear anything and they won't hear you until you call them back? Happens when I call out from time to time. Very frustrating.
Tried wiping dialer data. Also tried reinstalling app updates from the play store, no change.

I'm actually on ATT, which means it's probably not carrier related. Wonder if anyone knows of any alternate dialers that would work? Could see if it's app related or driver related.
I've done this but found my phone was on mute. Next time it happens check to see if that's the case. I think maybe it is easy to hit with your face?
I had the same issue but it would work with some numbers and not with others. I found a setting under the caller that was turned on for hearing aid support. Once I turned that off, it seems that my issues have gone away.
10 hours into the phone (got mine this AM) and I like the device but still not a fan of the camera, even with the Google camera port. Some things essentially (intentional) seem half baked or not thought completely through.
I just downloaded the MS Launcher and I have to say, I like it a lot. I'm considering keeping that the stock launcher.b
Same issue, my face it's the mute button all the time.
Happened twice in a day, I had to reset everything and still same if I restore all apps from back and/or if I connect my phone to car bluetooth --> safe unlock.
