Hi everyone I've recently been thinking about rooting my phone and loading a custom rom but still want the exclusive features of the s4 (infrared, air gesture, smart stay, etc) and wondered what roms offer that or at least some of them? Also I know rooting my phone will void the warranty but heard the reseting the registry count (I think that's what it's called) will make it seem like I never did root my phone?
Many thanks
May want to try Omega rom

Hi. As I said in the title, I've just changed my phone to samsung galaxy note3, but I'm not sure how to root this phone cuz I used to use a galaxy s2 before I changed my phone. ps. I live in South Korea and I'm using a Korean galaxy note3 ( sm-n900s)
The things I want to ask you guys are these
1. How do I root this?
2. Is there any custom roms that can be installed on the note3 jellybean 4.3?
3. When I root this device, does something happens to the knox warranty thing? When I searched a Korean developer forum, they said if I root this device, the knox warranty will be broken so you'll not be able to get free a/s.
4. Is the way of installing roms on note3 same as the way of galaxy s2?
5. Is it ok to install non-korean roms on my note3?
Thanks.

Of course - you'll trip KNOX 0x0 -> 0x1 and void your warranty

One piece of advice I will give you. Read until your eyes burn and you know everything that goes wrong/can go wrong and how to fix it if it does go wrong.

Go to Note 3 Android Development session, there's plenty of custom ROMs option there... Enjoy your root!
hi everybody -
i am new to the forum and i would like to know if it is possible to actually put bloatware on a google edition phone. i know this sounds weird but here's the story. i thought i was being a cool boyfriend by buying a google edition s4 for my wife instead of the regular at&t samsung s4 from their site because there would be no bloatware on the google edition. After my wife (who has been used to using the bloatware off s3 and loving some of those things) played with the google edition and absolutely hated that it didn't have any of the samsung features from an actual samsung phone bought from at&t. What i'm wondering is, is there a way to actually put all that bloatware onto a google edition s4 somehow? so that way, the phone will perform and have all the apps and features of an original samsung s4? does it need to be rooted, etc.? any tips and info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.
Joe
The short answer is no, it's not possible. But you could always sell it on ebay and buy a GT-i9500 or GT-i9505 instead to stay off contract, or buy the AT&T phone.
Theoretically, it's possible. Not by direct flashing I9505 firmware. But some cleaned one should be fine because I9505G has less space in system partition.
I'm not sure if partition layouts between I9505G and I9505 are the same (except sizes). If yes, then you can flash CWM/TWRP and then install any custom I9505 TW ROM. If partition layouts are different, then some work will be required.
You need to monitor threads about flashing GE ROMs to normal I9505 device and see what's the difference.
Or find playstore alternatives for the bloat she liked and install those.
Hello
I have an opportunity to purchase a Galaxy S5 LTE-A. I have been considering it but was wondering if I can root it and then put custom ROMS on it. The device comes unlocked from factory but don't know if the bootloader is unlocked as well.
I know that most of the ROMS here are for the standard Galaxy S5 and the internals for the "Prime" are a bit different.
Would custom ROMS work with the "Prime?"
I also want to know the same. The problem is that not many will be have the phone to test so we will probably not get an answer to his.
Yea. Also I'm wondering if Nova launcher prime works and if zooper widget works with 4.4 kit Kat
yes to all of those questions.
I have been a Sony user since 2011 and never tried other brands but now I switched to Galaxy S5 and I'm kinda feel noob now
The model number is "SM-G900F" and I noticed that there are other Galaxy S5 aside from this.
Is the CM12 on official nightlies "klte" is the same for all? or is there a specific baseband for each. I wanna try some kernel and AOSP based rom.
By the way my phone is still on 4.4.2. Ive heard there is 4.4.4 and 5.0.
Im used to doing modding on sony locking unlocking first bootloader before flashing kernel then flash rom. Is there a big difference when it comes to samsung? particularly Galaxy S5
First......DO NOT allow your phone to update to 5.0.0........It REALLY screws things up......
Second......research KNOX as this will have a direct bearing on whether you decide to go the whole custom route or simply just root, debloat, and customise your stock firmware.........

Hello, i currently own a samsung galaxy s3. so i know alot already about installing custom rom, custom recovery kernels etc..
i once bought a samsung galaxy s5 and customized it successfully but there are times that the phone reboots randomly for no reason. and that was a hardware issue i suppose, since after i flashed and original firmware, the reboot problem hasn't gone
any heads up i need to know before i install any custom rom or so? i am planning to buy an s5 but scared to make mistakes again.
are there any apps to test the hardware issues?
Thanks and regards
