Another odd thing I am seeing since the new update, is every time I reboot, if I go into the task manager to see all my open applications... After about a minute or so, I notice there is an app in there that says MIPerroractivity, when I click app info it says it is an app called com.sec.app.MIPErrorNotifier. Why is this automatically open like an app in my task manager when I reboot? Any ody else seeing this?

I see this too
Thanks for the reply. Was hoping it wasn't just me. Perhaps someone with more insight could shed some light on this.

Same here. Not sure what this is, and if I should just freeze it using Titanium backup. Searched google and the first hit was this post
One of the subsequent posts indicates that this app existed on the S3 late last year too - http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...ng-galaxy-s3-sprint-version-stock-rooted.html
Same here! I'm wondering if we rename it to .bak at the end if that will affect anything... anyone willing to test that lol?

QUESTION: Is everyone here running the latest KT Kernel. Bc when I reverted back to the MF9 kernel, I didn't get that anymore...
I am bone stock, haven't even rooted it yet. First time I haven't rooted a phone right out of the gate.

Same here just updated this morning. Bone stock and not rooted. Shows up after every reboot.
I did the update myself not via ota. Did everyone else here do it that way? Or did you receive the update via ota?
Maybe its somehow related to the way sprint is rolling out the update?

Happy I found this thread! Thought it was only me. I flashed the MF9 zip, and I'm using KT kernel.
The thing running doesn't really bother me, I'd just like to know what it's for. I kill it every time I reboot anyway

Should I have? I used Odin to get to stock MDL, then flashed the MF9 zip in recovery. Nothing else. Why would I need to flash the modem if the modem is in the OTA?

Did the same thing.
I also get this PITA notice.
Only thing I have been able to find so far is it appears to have something to do with "Mobile IP ERRor".
I will not claim to know what this means.
I have noticed that I have no cell service while roaming at home anymore.
Hopefully, this is because I am slightly (1/4 mile) outside of the official roaming service area.
I am hoping I can reset the phone profile once I get back into Sprint's network later today.
I am also not sure if this is related to MY upgrading to MF9 using the manual ZIP from SD card method and not waiting for the official OTA update.
I already posted that I did the ota stock non rooted and it appears for me.

After a bit of review
Ok, so I've been doing a little testing this AM to see if I could get to the bottom of this error.
After rebooting, locking and unlocking a ton of times I've decided its related to wifi connecting on the initial boot.
After a while I started noticing a pattern in relation to the toast message that pops up when it initially connects to wifi and the error showing up.
To confirm my theory, I removed the local wifi at my office, and on reboot, no error.
I have zero clue on how to fix the issue, but just wanted to point any devs looking into this in the right direction.
Additional notes, I'm stock, not rooted, and updated via the sdcard method.

Has anyone totally deleted it (not freeze it, but DELETE IT) from system/apps ??
3 week old S4, MF3 build, with safestrap 3.65, stock ROM in stock slot, using Hyperdrive RLS10.2 in slot one (flashed Hyperdrive, the ATT compatibility pack and the MF3 module (jflteatt-MF3-modules.zip)), GPS works perfectly when running Hyperdrive.
I deleted and recreated slot one and flashed SHOStock 2.3 and the MF3 module. All went well, except for GPS functionality. I can turn it on and I see the flashing icon in the left side of the status bar, but my apps do not see any satellites or get a GPS lock - tried GPS Test and GPS Status and Tools. To try and diagnose, I activated the stock slot and booted to stock. Same problem, GPS turns on but cant see satellites or get a lock. Then I deleted slot 1, recreated it and restored my Hyperdrive nandroid. Booted to Hyperdrive and GPS again works perfectly. But, If I boot to stock or restore my ShoStock nandroid and boot to ShoStock, GPS does not see satellites or lock.
Any suggestions as to how to diagnose/fix this problem?
Thanks!

For some reason, the problem went away on its own - but my ultimate solution was to leave ATT for T-Mobile and trade in the S4 for a Nexus 5. Having to use Safestrap to flash a ROM bugged me to no end, and I am loving the Nexus 5.
Any solution?

Thanks for the response . I tried to post this in the Phoenix / Chaos ROM sections, but they didn't let me post this because I am a junior member. Is there any way we could let the developers know this issue ? i tried sending messages, but no response .
I am glad to know that this issue is not just for me.

But it is aslo AT&T. Glad to know other people have this too.
PM me your message and I will post and say it is from you.
I had issues with my GPS once I upgraded to KitKat. Lasted for months with various ROMS installed and was going crazy after trying every fix that was out there.
Finally fixed the problem by flashing NB1 modem instead of NC1. Give that method a try if you are out of options...worked for me!

Tried flashing NB1 modem as well. Still GPS doesnt work.
I also have such problem. Only in Hyperdrive I have GPS. Even on stock flashed by Odin I don't have it.
I read somewhere that it may come from CSC settings. Does anybody knows how to play with that CSCs and how to "copy" CSC from Hyperdrive to any other ROM?

Interesting. For me, so far GPS didnt work on CHAOS ROM and PHOENIX Rom. It works well in stock / imperium ROM / Hyperdrive ROM . I hope someone finds a fix for this. Phoenix is too good to not use everyday.
Solution Found. Check below. Its about changing the csc file. after changing it my GPS works awesome
Explanation is at the last post in this thread.

Suggested solution worked on Phoenix ROM, but didn't work on Goldeneye ROM. Anyways it's a solution for this problem in some cases.

This is what I did. I odin back to NB1 base. changed the CSC to UK code ( I couldnt find the US CSC codes listed ). Then installed the Phoenix ROM. Its woking like a charm.
$20 via paypal to the person who can get me up and running again.
GPS is very important for my line of work, and I'm trying not to panic.
I'm on MK2. I've been using stock and SHOstock ROM flawlessly since getting the phone just before Christmas. I've NEVER had any GPS issues. Ever.
I decided to flash the Safestrap version of Hyperdrive on ROM Slot 1, along with MK2 kernel module. Installed fine. I flipped back to STOCK rom(SHOstock), until I had time to mess with the new ROM. On the way home from work, I realized I had no GPS.
Using GPS Tools and GPS Fix apps, no satellites showing at all.
I've done everything I can think of, including using ODIN to flash back to stock MK2. Still no dice.
Can anyone give a guy a hand? I'm currently running stock and have re-rooted using saferoot(the same way I rooted previously).
Thanks in advance!

There used to a method that involved the service menu on the GS3 but I'm not sure if it still applied

Nothing has happened to the phone(no drops/spills/etc). It started right after flashing the new ROM, so I'm fairly certain it has to be related.

Ted, per our extended private message convo on Friday, thanks for giving me a good shove in the right direction!
Dlp22, I have the same problem, did you solve it?
any suggestion!
I had the same problem after upgrading to MK2, almost on the verge of getting rid of GS4 and switching to another device. But for now, I have fixed it by installing Hyperdrive RS13 using Safestrap on Stock slot (did take a backup of the stock slot before wiping it out)...
Ok I have looked everywhere and tried many fixes including the AT&T fix (put me into a bootloop) and clean flashes... but nothing is working.
Here are all the steps that i have done.
I have a Bell note 3 that was rooted on JB. I sent it into repair after unrooting (it still said custom but i guess they overlooked that). When i got it back it was running KK official.
I rooted with autoroot and flashed X-note with Civz kernel and the wifi/nfc fix.
Now everything is running great and i still have knox 0x0 (which is good)
EXCEPT my GPS is not connecting. I am using GPS status and it will show that there are satellites to connect to and will take a really long time to connect, then it will drop everything and say that there are no sats to connect to...
I need my GPS and am willing to sponsor a beer+ for a working solution...
And is there anyone out there that has seen the same issue?
Thanks in advance
I rooted my note 3 with x-note! I was having trouble with the gps before and after rooting as a taxi driver it really is passing me off!

Try replacing the GPS config with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by.zatta.agps
It worked for me and I'm also using a Bell N800W8. My GPS behaved perfectly while on stock, stock rooted (with custom recovery) and at a point after flashing several roms it broke. Now it requires this app to work. I've also gone back to stock (knox 0x0) and couldn't get a lock.
Obviously it's a software issue I'm just unsure why flashing the stock firmware didn't fix it and a fix is required.
Good luck!

No offence taken
I posted there twice and it got buried within the hour and never got ansered...
Im a volunteer EMT and i rely on my GPS to get to emergencies, i needed a resolution ASAP.
I ended up just flashing vision-x n900w and now the first GPS fix after a reset can take up to a min (but it gets a fix which is an improvement)
But subsequent fixes take only a couple of seconds.... so i guess i have to live with that...
Thanks for the help (and i'm usually good with forums but i had to make an exception this time)
I have the same problem not running xnote or with at&t. I was rooted with xposed. Have tried restoring stock with odin but still doesn't work. I can run a AOSP rom and it works fine so not thinking its a hardware issue. I will start a new thread as this isn't specific to xnote.

Hi
Since wednesday (19.08) my GPS doesn't work. I mean..
Before 19.08 I was using SixPerience, earlier I was using XtrestoLite, Alliance v9/9.1.
And 19.08 I flashed Alliance ROM with KtoonZ Kernel and GPS stopped working.
Tried on Omega ROM with Omega kernel - all the time doesn't work..
Tried on CM12.1 - still doesn't work..
What's wrong ? Im using G900F.
Please help I don't want to pay for repair because of knox warranty void 0x1
Solution
When you flash a custom rom, be it tw o cm without getting a gps lock first in the stock rom, the gps will stop working. You simply have to flash the stock rom, get a gps lock, and then you can flash a custom rom. Always get a gps lock before flashing. Its really annoying but its the only way i know so far.

Thanx bro for your answer. Can you tell me how to get a GPS Lock?
Flashed stock ROM and still GPS doesn't work
Solution
Did you flash the stock rom using odin? With a stock .tar file? To get a gps lock just go outside and using google maps set a route somewhere and then activate the navigation. Wait untill you hear the voice saying the directions and in the status bar youll see a message saying "location set by gps".
