I'm using stulys beta keyboard (which I find much better than original Samsung keyboard Note 3 with OTA update) and Swiftkey.
the question is what would be the bes/easiest way to switch between the keyboards?
Going through the settings menu is very time consuming...

The keyboard switcher should appear in your status bar when you use the keyboard (top left in picture below). Just pull down the notification shade and select choose input method to switch between keyboards.

I have a questions guy.
In Nexus 7 if you want to go to quick setting you just swipe down from status bar at top right if you want to open notification you swipe at the left.
Are there any mod to do the same as Nexus 7?
2 finger swipe is kinda hard you know. Human finger are different length

Just got the Galaxy S4 from Spring and for some reason I'm not being able to turn on the multi-window setting. Go into the settings, see the unchecked box and won't let me check it. Tried holding the back button from the home screen to bring up that side bar, but no dice. Anyone have an issue like this?

Yeah I've tried that as well and no dice.
How about holding down the back button?

Yes I've tried that as well.
I like having the soft keys always present, as compared to using pie, but I want 3 dots instead of actual icons all the time so it doesn't feel too intrusive. Is this possible?

Depends on the ROM. On most of them you can just theme the navbar icons. So, yes it's possible. Check out the themes and apps forum section.
cheers

I find the virtual buttons a bit of a nuisance, I would much rather use gestures. I originally wanted to hide them only on my home screen, but it seems it's all or nothing with qemu.hw.mainkeys in build.prop.
I'm fine getting rid of them, however I'm wondering if there is a gesture system I can have instead, for example a swipe from bottom takes me to the home screen?
Edit: I'm on rooted stock 4.3.
I'm using cataclysm ROM which has a unique feature which fades out the buttons after ten seconds in any app. Other wise I think there's an xposed module that can have swipes to navigate.

Thanks man, turns out I was Googling for the wrong thing - once I figured out that they were called navigation bars I came across an app called " GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys" for rooted devices. (For future people)
I'd rather keep with rooted stock for now but I will be sure to keep an eye on it for when I decide to dabble in roms.
I really miss having this from Cataclysm on my Nexus 5 every time the keyboard popped up. Would be amazing if someone could make a flashable zip that could add this to a stock, rooted ROM.

That's good to know but I love how Cataclysm could make this work with any keyboard. I happen to be a fan of the stock Google keyboard and with this setting enabled, you'd get left and right arrow keys on other side of the home button. Best solution I've seen.
