I'm looking for a full screen caller ID app for the Maple. I tried Photo contact Pro, but it is a bit bloated. Just looking for a simple Caller ID app that will give me a full screen photo when calls come in.
Any recommendations?

Can only think of EnCallio, very small, full screen, themeable, flexible and easy to use, but not free. I used it on my Dash didnt try it on Snap.

Will the HTC Evo 4g receive a update for the new sense ui? I have been wanting this implementation for a while now. Also what does HD in the new HTC Desire mean?
probably high definition, high definition is more of a buzzword then a term, technically the first "hd" tv was invented back around the 50s, its definitely above 480p (enhanced definition) but below the current standard of high definition (720i) the current trend of android phones support 800 x 480 while the highest standard for edtv i believe it 576p(pal resolution)
What's so HD about the HTC Desire? I mean it's like a beefed up verson of the Evo without the kickstand. Also I hope the new sense ui comes out soon!
are there any major differences? I can't tell by looking at some of the pictures out there. what is new in sense?
"-New flip clock animation. There also aren't that many clock widgets,
-There is a blocked callers app, HTC Hub app for your HTC Sense account. For people who just get this new phone, they have an App where they can transfer over their data from their other phone over a bluetooth connection.
-Messaging app: UI overhaul. You have an option for push messages. In the settings you have the option to forward messages to your phone or email addres. Inside the thread there is a sort of new view. It displays the contacts name and number at the same time.
-There is also an app that will link your contacts with the social networking websites, that was demonstrated in that video. It's nothing really new, it just gives you the option to link the twitter and facebook once you add a new contact to the phone.
-The personalize button is the same thing as long pressing on the screen, but it's more personal. A lot more options are put all together in the same place, but essentially the same thing.
-People Widget: There is a new People widget, and by default it displays the contact photos and their facebook/twitter status. But once you get a message or they update any one of those, it replaces the previous status. So if you got a text message, it would show up next to their name, you can tap it and be redirected to the messaging app.
-New Live Wallpaper: There is a wallpaper that you can set that will be based off of pictures you select, so that every time you unlock the phone or go back to the homescreen from any app, you see a new wallpaper. The default images on this rom are great, and i love seeing a new image, its my favorite wallpaper.
-Notifications: Inside your notification pulldown, it displays all recent apps, so you no longer have to hold down the home button, just drag down and select. Also, what htey didnt talk about is how if you're playing music, you have the option to pause the song from the notification pulldown.
-There is a power saver feature
-There is an option for the ringer to become quiet once the phone is moved, and for the ringer to become louder when it's in your pocket.
-New HTC Keyboard, and a new calibration app that looks sexy as hell
-HTC Skins
-Over all higher resolution
-Internet browser: No more fullscreen mode, but you have the refresh button and a new RSS button. Also, next to the RSS button is a button for bookmarking. YOu have the option to disable animated gif animations.
-This is true froyo, so it restores your apps when you load up the app, but only if you were on a version of froyo that had that option, like cyanogenmod
-for search, i never really used it so this may not be new, but you can search every single thing on your phone. i mean, down to a specific word in a text message
-this isnt on my rom but i remember seeing it..you had the option to have these nice power control widgets. one of them that i used was the wireless and settings widget. which contained htc sync, wifi, roaming, mobile network and a button that took you to the settings section under settings
-iPhone magnifying glass when it comes to editing text. It's not the exact same (obviously) it's a square."
I posted that on reddit some weeks ago, thats just some of the new stuff i noticed in the new rom

The new Sense UI is complete, because its already on the Desire HD and Z. Only things that is constantly being updated is the stuff for the HTC Hub. But thats just themes, ringtones, wallpapers, skins and whatnot.
New Sense = SEX.
I can't stop using it...
The Mail app and widget have also been greatly improved on the new Sense UI. It adds a universal inbox as well as batch actions. Much nicer to need only one Mail widget now on the homescreen for those people with mutliple email addresses.
i wish they would release an update to the sense ui for the non HD Desire :/

does it run on Android ?
Apk file for testing?
---------- Post added at 03:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:43 PM ----------
It's on play store but not compatible with smartQ z1Watch
*ClockFace Selection*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.935b*
You can now choose the clockface (from settings).
The clocks in the list are real clock showing the actual time
I have more clocks to add.
Credits to +Daniel Ortiz and +Roy King for those first clockfaces.
If you want your own clockfaces added to the app, send me your files:
https://plus.google.com/101149847908870195450/posts/jfFJts5bQDW
There is a slight bug: when you choose a new clock and come back from the settings the clock take some seconds to update. I will fix this, but i'm taking my GF to the cinema and wanted to send you this update before i come back.
call acceptance and sending through dialpad
is it possible to add a feature in this app, to recieve calls and send calls through the dialpad without a sim card and phone having to be next to you kinda like the samsung gear does, because this app would be better than the gear manager in many ways(i love this app great job)that would be great thanks.
*Voice Control*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.935*
You can now enable *Voice Control*
When the app is listening the red mic icon will be displayed. The Android SpeechRecognizer is very unstable. when it crashes the icon disappear, if it's the case wait until it come back.
The listening is only active when the app is displayed, therefore there shouldn't be any problem with battery.
The implementation in only partial so far.
Key words on the main screen or clock screen:
Call : Remote Call
Text: Remote SMS
Play: Media player control
Find: Find my phone
Lock: Remote Lock
Location: Get GPS Location
Setting : Settings
Clock : Display the analog clock
Stop: Stop Listening
Key words on incoming notification: (not for call or sms notification so far)
Dismiss
Local : open app on local device
Remote : open app on remote device
Stop: Stop Listening
*Stay tuned, a LOT more to come...*
*Shake it !!*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.936*
* On main screen and clockface: shake to toggle Voice Control On/Off (to be enabled in settings)
* On Notification, Shake to Dismiss
I will add more implementations in the app, like in media player control.
*Dual Time Clock*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.936a*
You can choose the time delta in settings.
*Smooth Second Hand*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.936b*
Option to get a smooth second hand instead of just a movement each second.
Some bugs fix.
*Notification Auto dismiss, Settings menu reorganized*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.94*
New option to auto dismiss notifications with custom delay.
Full reorganization of settings menu
(Call Forwarding menu has been added to general settings)
(Call and SMS notification settings has been added to "Notifications" setttings)

For MiPS cpu & SDK 19?
*HUGE update*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.936c*
*Please go in settings menu to choose your communication type, it has been changed since last version*
I have completely rewritten the communication engine:
Better Stability
Possibility to enable independently each Communication type (only the first instruction is taken into account)
Keep Alive and Status check for Push Type (local and linked names are red or green following their status)
Option to sync Connection type: when a connection type is enabled/disabled on a device it’s synchronized on the other (if there is an active connection)
....
Other:
Many new languages (Spanish, Finnish, Hebrew, Russian, Chinese, Greek and Dutch)
Settings menu can now be displayed with a white or black background, and the font size can be adjusted (small, normal, big).
Many Bugs fixed
...
*!!! Push Communication is having problems!!!*
We have grown too fast and reached the quotas on Google app Engine
I have sent a request to google to higher my quotas but until it's done you might encounter problem with the push communication.
I'll let you know when i have news.
*OutGoing Calls Notification and Auto dismiss with end of call*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.96f*
There is now a notification for Outgoing calls too, which will allow you to hang up from the watch.
Incoming and Outgoing calls notification are now automatically dismissed at the end of the call.
PS: Push keep alive min delay as been brought to 5 min as i'm having problems with the Quota on google app engine. I'll see if i can lower it later.
*SWApp Link as LockScreen and notifications dismiss LockScreen*
*SWApp Link dev update 0.96g*
You can now use SWApp Link as your LockScreen: to be enabled in the settings.
Incoming notifications now turn the screen On AND dismiss the lockscreen.
(Depending on the locksreen you use you might need to disable it first.)
