Nice end of story "nearly... Myself" you made me smile

nearly broke it? jesus man, i though that you drove over the phone on your truck, or it survived tornado, or fire or something like that. and then you come up with this imaginary random fail... GL
The phone takes a micro sim, why do you need an adapter?

He meant the incredibly flimsy and small simcard tray not adapter.
This is my second Z1 as I broke the first without using it by bending the pins in the sim slot with the adaptor had to use my insurance to get a new Z1 CPW would not replace it as I broke it putting it in cost me £60.

The tray design is shockingly bad, and will be an issue for anyone who travels and swaps out sims to avoid roaming charges. I don't think it would take much abuse. On My Galaxy Note 8.0 it just clicks into the side of the device naked 'micro-sd style'. No reason why Sony could not have implemented the same mechanism.
Maybe on the Z2 !

Sorry i didn't explane properly Virgin sent me a new sim card a tiny little thing with 2 adapters i am thinking nano and micro? i didn't put the adapter into the flimsy plastic tray and the sim just fell into the slot and wouldn't come out until i got a pin and managed to free it

because my transitioning from iphone 4, I had to get a micro-sim adapter for my new desire HD, but the weird thing is once I put my simcard in the phone, I can't take it back out?
There doesn't seem to be anything holding the simcard.
Does anybody know why?
luckily I came up with a way to remove it. If anyone run into this problem ever, let me know. I can show you.
I use tweezers haha.
What ive done is cut out a very thin piece of soft plastic and slide it in the sim card slot. Luckily I didn't try to force it out. I read some people even had to sent the phone back to get it out because they snapped the adapter.

Just wondering if anybody knows if the Nexus 4 SIM tray is required in order to make a connection kind of like a lot of battery covers. Tried putting my SIM in with just a piece of tape attached to pull it back out but I can't seem to get it to recognize.
Thanks.

You definitely need the SIM card tray. It is there for a reason, not sure why you would use tape as you could definitely wreck the internals of the phone.
I'm pretty sure it does. It keeps the Sim aligned correctly.
Why would you use tape , vs a sim tray ?

The use of tape being ?

Given how sensitive the N4 seems to be with cut-down SIMs, I really can't imagine how a SIM with no tray is going to line up properly.

Hello everybody,
I am a worried owner of a Xperia Z5. I have had it for a little more than a month now.
I have discovered that my phone is bend and it's not the result of a particular accident. It's bend in my jeans pocket. It's my first Sony and i have never had this problem with other brands.
It's bend just where you put in the SD and SIM card. I guess the frame is weak at this spot
Am i the only one with this problem?
Kind regards
I don't have this issue.. I put my Z5 in the front pockets.. Do u put it in the rear pockets?

Go and repair it in Sony services.. My phone is fine, and the frame looks strong.

This is strange

Considering the place where it's bent and the phone dimension I would say front pocket with 'heads' down or back pocket with 'heads' up and then a quite strong force applied by sitting down and having the pants get tight and thus bending the phone against your leg. A sturdy casing would be good in those situations.
Are you one of those lads who wears those skinny jeans that are designed for girls?

Just ordered my Devilcase, I don't think it will bend with such a bumper.
Yours look not good though.. I would bring it back for warranty if I where u.
Sony won't do an RMA on it. They say this can only happen because of misuse. Guess this was my last Sony

I guess this would be your last device. If this ever happens to any device they'll tell you the same thing sadly.

Maybe....but I have never had this kind of issue with another phone. I think I will avoid phones build of only glass and a metalframe. I guess they can't cope with my definition of normal use.
The other phones may be made of soft plastic instead of glass and medals. It happens more often than people think. Instead of a bend some phones it equals a broken screen even when the body is straight as if there was no impact.

You might be right. I have just never had this problem before and I have had almost all the Nexus devices and the Oneplus One.
I feel you. I seen where people claim they didn't abuse their phones and their screen randomly shattered out of nowhere. Some of them here on these very forums. It happens and always sucks for the person it happens to. Now if only we had phones like the Flex

Christian Dølpher have you sent the phone to sony? i have the same issue, reason i am asking is becasue they will charge me £21 if it is my fault
Hahahahahah..... I can't believe there are people that are so ignorant! Why on earth would you even think of blaming a company for that?
ANY PHYSICAL DAMAGE IS ALWAYS USER'S FAULT!
I'm sorry, but I've got to agree with Sensination.
The phone didn't bend on its own. It was because you were storing it wrong. Sony has every right to refuse a return.
It's obviously not a widespread issue. Just make sure you store your next device in a better pocket.

As i said earlier they did not acknowledge the bend as covered by the warranty. The answer was that the bend was from wrong use of the phone. After that I decided not to fix the bend, because the phone isworking fine.
Hi all, I recently purchased a nexus 6p, very impressed with it, great phone, the only issue I have faced is when I ejected the sim tray, the little handle on the sim tray has a slight free play, in experience I have never come across this on my nexus 5, 5x, and other phones I've owned or put a sim in. Please confirm with me and check if ur sintray handle has a very slight free play, thankyou.

I did not notice anything funny about mine when I put it in. It's nice and snug now too. I tried to see if it would wiggle with my fingernail but it is solid. If you think it feels defective though trade it soon so you get in the replacement window.

That's weird, mine feels solid too, and had a snug fit, but just when I took the sim tray out it just wiggles very slightly, its not much of a major issue to hand in for replacement, if it breaks then I will. Thanks for ur testing.

I know I know what a noob question we have here ! it's just I am new to nano sims , I received my galaxy s7 edge yesterday, I took my old sim today to a near mobile shop to have it cut and when i went home i tried to install it but it didn't fit inside my phone I tried with some pressure but it just didn't so I had to cut a little bit more of its width and apparently I went so far now its length fits in the sim holder but its width is short...what I want to say is the sim doesn't stick to the holder it's loose , I took the holder out several times to make sure that the sim didn't fall inside the phone and it didn't, I am a little bit obsessive can a loose sim card affect phone performance? causing lag, bad signal, whatsoever?
MementoM said:
I cut mine at home and mine also needed to be shaved a bit for it too fit and now it's smaller and also does not fit in the sim tray perfectly. Mine still acts the same I get better network speed with an AT&T phone and a little less with an international model. I wouldn't be to worried. You should see my SIM card its trashed it looks uneven and the gold data part is all scratched up.

thx for your reply, mine is not that bad tho, but this cannot affect performance right? and by performance I don't mean only network performance I mean performance in general
No. Never. Absolutely not. It's not even a legit chance.
