I don't know what happened, but after installing the 2.1 fastboot EU the screen started to show things not properly, the menu at start duplicated and such things, when I start an App (like camera) starts to show pixel lines. What happened? I need help, I bought this cellphone today.
How to repair this?
PS: Can't post image... sh*t
Ah OK now you got fastboot?? If you do just flash another ROM.

I used one rom for 2.3.7, trying to install that was the moment when I realized the screen problem, but I'm sure that the problem started after installing the fastboot. this error appears in all the roms I use.
If you can manage to put the screenshot on a other device and check if it does not look messed up then its a screen fault.

I apologize if this circumvents any rule and/or policy on this forum.
I just want to give people a heads up regarding Chainfire 3D Pro 3.3.
If you have JB, don't install it, I made the mistake of doing so and my P5100 ended up stuck on the boot screen.
Solution: Re-flashing.
Well the author does say " Now available for Honeycomb- but still a big risk there!!" So if you're running Honeycomb, that was a possibility.
Another solution, which I just did to my SGS2 with the new JB (and already had the CF-3D pro app installed so didn't see the market warnings) was to boot to (stock!) recovery, (home+volup+press power till get logo while still holding other keys for a bit longer) plug in USB to PC, run adb shell, then su, then
cd /system/lib
./cf3d_uninstall.sh
throws some errors but phone reboots and bingo.
You might try clearing cache and dalvik in recovery too. Its no guarantee, but it can help with boot loop issues depending on the cause.

For normal non root apps, yes, but won't help in this case, since Chainfire 3D isn't putting anything much in data or cache, all the main modifications are /system/lib which clearing cache won't help at all...

Unless its conflicting with something else. Then it could help. Still less likely, but its free, easy, and won't hurt so its worth trying. Something could have gotten botched on the install too. It could be a Google play cache issue. (Its probably not)
I've fixed plenty of stuff in my life by doing things that shouldn't work.

Installing the app isn't causing the non boot, it is going into the app and pressing the option to get it to, via root, modify the system to put new surface flinger drivers in. It is these drivers, which are in system, which causes the non (full) boot on JB. No amount of any cache or even factory reset will fix up /system modifications. Just good thing it has a driver uninstaller which can be run from adb shell.

Ooooohhh!! Yeah thats different. I read the op as if he just installed it and got bootloops. I didnt realize it wasnt until after he used it.
My bad!
In that case this is a lesson in why you should always make a nandroid before messing with system files.

Flash a new rom. And why you have used ist? I mean chainfire wright it in the description that only gingerbread should install this.
There is a driver uninstaller you can run from adb shell from recovery, if you don't want to flash a new system partition or full rom again.

it is such a pitty that CF 3D doesnt work on any 4.1+ rom :/
I was using it on my phone on ICS,but its devs are obviously not making it compatible with 4.1 and 4.2

Been asking this problem in some threads...still didn't get enough answer. Now I'm making this one in order someone who has the same problem can give me a clue or something...
Here's the thing. As the title said itself. I have problem with random reboot during the screen off. I used Karma and AuroraSp Romance. Yes screen off, I mean when I'm not playing with the phone or even touch it the phone reboot itself in a couple of hours or maybe minutes. The worst thing is the phone didn't wake up, so I had to press the power button. I thought the restart problem was caused by heavy use but not in my case.
What I've done to solve the problem (that I know as a noob) were :
- clean cache and fix permission.... failed
- change the roms couple of times with clean installed....failed
- change the recovery with the latest one and again did a clean install.... failed
Please anyone? Is it Rom related or just my phone getting old?
Thanks in advance
Regard

No matter what I do... no matter what ROM I flash to, and I have tried 4 different ROMs, I keep getting the UI Stops Working error and then my phone is virtually non-functional. The notifications, navigation, and launcher bars go away and I cannot do anything. The only thing that I can do is boot into recovery and then flash a new ROM, BUT I have been doing this a couple times a day.
I even formatted my entire phone, internal storage and all, started completely over AND YET I still get the issue. What can I do???

The only ones that I can think of are the live wallpaper ones, Email Exchange since I don't need it, and face unlock. I also froze the NFC. I wouldn't think that would cause it. I was reading on the internet that the Facebook app can cause it so I deleted the app and we will see.

When this happened to me I used Matt's utility option 1... rooted it updated it n made a TiB of everything... now when I tinker n it gets wonky I restore the systemui.apk n reboot... I know you said that you started over does that mean you used rsd and flashed stock... or did you go through a recovery to do the wiping formatting n what not?

Had this happen the other day and this is what I did. I rebooted the phone WHILE HOLDING THE VOLUME DOWN KEY. it boots into safe mode. While in there make a TiBu of your apps. Then boot into recovery and factory data/reset like 3 times, flash back to a ROM and restore your apps. This way you don't lose your stuff.

When I meant started over I was yes referring to the booting to recovery and then wiping/formatting everything, then reflashing a ROM. That works, but I just am nervous now because the issue persists no matter the ROM. Sometimes it takes a day or two or sometimes it happens even quicker than that. I think it might be Facebook so I am not installing that app again. Why FB works on my Nexus 7 tablet and my wife's phone just fine is beyond me.
I didn't know I can make a backup of systemui.apk and restore it to make it work. I wish we could find the main issue to begin with so we can resolve this once-and-for-all.

Yea I backup everything on my external hard drive (that after I back anything up I bubble wrap and put in my fire safe< a bit paranoid) every week, so that if anything happens I can just wipe it clean and start fresh (I have never used rsd lite but I'm guessing its somewhat like option one of Matt's utility) that restores your phone to a moto flashed like state... ready to be sold as a certified like new device (as Verizon would call it)...

Are you mounting system in TWRP, before you wipe data? For some reason, I stopped doing this when I updated to the newer TWRP. There was a thread on here where someone said they mounted prior to wiping and it solved their 4.3 issues. I tried it and it worked for me. I would suggest you try the same.

Help, I downgraded from 2.3 to 2.2 for various reasons, but now when I try to upgrade again I just get the pink screen ,if I try using the option from settings/storage,it says key data couldn't be backed up , the installation will stop. Also if I boot into the system it runs fine for about a minute then locks up completely so I can't even continue to use it in 2.2 can anyone advise ?

Try to put the 2.3 dload folder to a sd card, then remove the battery, plug in a USB cable to the computer and the phone, volume up+down+power (if I remember right lol). See if it will update that way.
no, that's the usual way I've been flashing it, I can get to the image folder ,but it won't boot into recovery either

Odd. Maybe try to flash the ICS pink screen unlocker? I had weird issues at some point too, then I flashed that and the problems went away. Afterwards flash ICS.
Just tried that, still no luck,it doesn't even get to the unpacking screen,it just stays pink. beginning to think its beyond repair

I think it's still possible to fix it. I was loosing hopes too, but I messed around with it anyway and got it working. Just try different dload's, different methods and maybe you'll get it running. Maybe other users will have some ideas too.

Hi there!
I think when you upgrade from software menu there is an option for data back-up.
Uncheck this option and the error should go away.
Also what do you mean with this: "Also if I boot into the system it runs fine for about a minute then locks up" ?
What do you mean it locks up? Touchscreen is not responsive for example?
My suggestions:
1) Do a factory reset and then check if you can upgrade
2) Try re-installing your recovery(use cwm 5.0.27 by geno for best compatibility) or even replace the whole image folder with the froyo one from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146856
Your phone is not beyond repair that's for sure. Since it boots fine.

I haven't noticed an option for data backup, will check again later on. And yes when it locks up touch screen becomes unresponsive and none of the buttons respond either. Also when I try to enter recovery ,both custom and stock, it displays the kernel logo then vibrates with a black screen for a second then back to kernel logo and continues to boot.

Ok guys,I copied over the stock image folder and now it works ok, however I still can't upgrade from froyo. At least I can use it again though so thanks for your help, its much appreciated. Incidentally, there wasn't an option to back up data when upgrading, but that error has now gone, except it now just reboots instead, so I will just keep trying.
