I saw that the 3.2 update was available today but i had to root my Iconia in order to remove an old version of zinio and reinstall it as the old version sucked.
Can anyone confirm if zinio is still in within the system apps in 3.2 and if so which version it is?
Thanks in advance!
I have a rooted NC ver. 1.1.0
What's the easiest way to get up-to-date with the latest root? I see when starting my research to do this I've not received any of the B&N's OTA updates since I rooted about a year ago (I turned off OTA updates after my initial root).
Thanks
You might need to flash the new stock fw. (1.4.2 is the latest, I believe) then reroot with ManualNooter 5.0.2.xx
hi, my brother and me, we ve got two acer iconia a500 with 32gb.
my brother rootet his iconia 1 month ago and installed an ics rom.
now i bought my rom with normal firmware and no root.
i updated it to 4.0.3.
now my brother wants the official firmware on his iconia back.
is there a release of the ofw or is it possible to make a backup of mine
and he flash this rom to his iconia (so its nearly the same)
im looking forward for a positiv answer
Hi there,
Best bet would be for your brother to revert back to stock honeycomb and then allow the OTA updates to update him to the official ICS. There are many guides here on XDA on how to do that. That is likely the safest bet based on what bootloader he might be running etc.
can you please give me a link for a guide to getbstock rom back. hard to find something, aspecially when you are german
I went back to stock 3.0.1 and did updates up to 3.2.1 then i install Iconia tab update from the playstore when i got upto 3.2.1 then checked for updates again and it pushed ICS to my tab hear is the link method one worked for me method two did not let me update i kept getting the your device is upto date message. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276227
Method two would be the best if you are not able to get your cpuid did not work for me but might do for you good luck need anymore help post back hear.
I just got my new Nook Simple Touch Glowlight for Christmas and am quite excited to root it and try everything out.
It currently has Firmware 1.1.5 on it and since Nook Manager (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040351) recommends having 1.2.0 as the firmware I started looking to see if there was a download out for it.
However it seems that B&N just recently updated the firmware hosted on their site (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/Software-Updates-NOOK-Simple-Touch/379003175/) to 1.2.1 and I am unsure if flashing this will break my ability to get root functionality.
So my questions are simple:
#1: Will upgrading to the 1.2.1 firmware cripple my chances of rooting my device?
#2: If so where can I find an original 1.2.0 firmware download?
Thanks in advance!

Use the 1.2.1 that's on the B&N website.
It must be a bug fix from the 1.2

#1 - It shouldn't. Performing a factory reset should revert your FW back to 1.1.5 if it turns out that rooting 1.2.1 does not work.
btw. Modifying NookManager scripts should do the trick for 1.2.1
dq11
I get ModManager not available for 1.2.1 during the root process
Update: I modified two of the script files in the image which were hard-coded to 1.2.0 and changed them to 1.2.1 and the rooting procedure worked perfectly after that on the new 1.2.1 firmware as the base
./scripts/install_nookmods:if [ "$SYSTEM" != "1.2.0" ]; then
./scripts/install_old_installer:if [ "$SYSTEM" != "1.2.0" ]; then

Hi, I just purchased a used Tab S2 T710 from Ebay and received a really nice, like new tablet but it is has B&N Nook version of Android 6.01. At least for now I would like to change it to the stock Android 6 as the Nook version lacks much of the stock widgets and installs all the Nook stuff. Which I don't need or want.
I think I can just use Odin and flash the stock firmware but I need to find the firmware which so far I have not found.
My current Build No. T710XXS2CRH1
Can some knowledgeable person help me confirm and point me to the right firmware, Please?
I am open to updating to a newer version of Android but not sure which to choose.
Thanks
OK, update to stock firmware android 6.01 via Odin, all went well but Nook remained the same.
How do I get rid of Nook and it's apps to get normal OS.
What do I need to change?
Really want just get a original Android default apps instead of Nook
Thanks
