[Q] Exynos N900 charging time? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

According to different reviews, the LTE Note 3 charges its 3200mAh battery impressively fast "thanks in part to the new PMIC (PM8941) which is part of the overall 8974 platform story"(AnandTech). Wondering the charging time of the 3G version with Exynos 5420 could catch up because the other side of the bigger battery is longer charging time.
Thanks in advance for N900 owners' answers.:highfive:
BTW, my S4(international I9505 with SD 600) charges faster than AnandTech's review, usually in less than 2 hours. Even faster on CM 10.2 because it breaks the current limit of 1300mA with screen on and keeps charging the battery at 1900mA with Samsung original charger.

Don't know how they measure that up exactly, but my note 2 used to take around 2.5hr not 3.2hrs

Is your N9005 charging faster than Note 2?

I haven't counted it from 0 to 100. But it took one hour to charge from 5% to 53%. I have the snapdragon model not exynos.

Q- is this good battery life for 4.2.1? Screen cap attached.

Updated to 4.2.1 with new 32 gig nexus 7. I've heard lots of people have been getting bad battery life with 4.2.1 update. Is mine good or bad? Attached screenshot.
Thanks

It really depends on your screen on time. I'd say getting 5-7 hours of screen on time would be considered good battery life.

I personally wouldn't consider that good battery life, however I'm spoiled in a sense. I never kept my tablet stock, modded from day 1. But I'm sitting at 85% right now with 4hrs screen on browsing web and xda and it was fresh off the charger. I also get over a week of standby time when it sits.

Which kernel and settings are you using? Thanks!

Yes which ROM and kernel are you using? 4.2.1 seems to have bad battery life. Mine is just rooted

Battery charges in 90 minutes, is this sign of a bad battery?

Can see the title - I can charge my phone from 4% to full in rougly 90-100 mins using stock charger. This seems significantly faster than reported by other review sites, does this mean my battery is not fully utilizing all its cells?

Mine did the same thing....
Mine charges super fast too, but I still get great life out of it. 5-6 hour screen time, all day and into the next.
This phone gets better battery life than any other I have ever owned. The fast charging is a great bonus.

It could also have something to do the the 1150mA charger. That's more current than most phone chargers.

On a related note, this thing either charges faster on a car charger or is just much more efficient than the Galaxy Nexus. My Galaxy Nexus's battery would actually drain when using GPS in the car while plugged into my Kinivo BTC450, especially while also playing music. My Moto X actually charges reasonably quickly while using GPS and playing music. There's definitely no need for some high voltage car charger.

Battery life sucks

2 hours on the phone did this to my battery. Screen time was 48 mins. Screen was off on call using BT. Phone was red hot after call

It is something you installed or something on your setting up the phone.
this phone battery is amazing , trust me it is.
I get screen on times , unthinkable to my previous phones with brightness way way higher
so.. just try to figure out what is eating your batt and why.
edit:
then again you didnt start your battery log with 100% batt
and your drain was due to a very phone cal (?) With screen off, but your network signal suck really bad, maybe is from there ? But even with low coverage I find it hard to imagine that drain.
But then again.. never had low coverage ..
Yeah I can assure you it's something in your settings that is giving you poor life. You didn't give much description of what they are so it's tough for me to help you with what to fix, or how much knowledge you already have. I recommend BetterBatteryStats and Battery Mix for starters.
Install BBS (Better Battery Stats) and find the rogue application that is causing battery drain.
Battery life for me is amazing. I get close to 28-30 hours with mid - heavy usage.

Your signal during this two hour call was awful. Keeping a connection while not using the phone is a battery sucker in these conditions. I imagine it is much more so when you are actually on the phone. I'd suspect that as the culprit, as the radio has to be pumped up to the max constantly, instead of every minute or so.
I had a note 2 on same network and never saw this kind of drain. I think this qualcomm chip is ****. In my settings my cpu was at 2.27ghz for 1 hour 43 mins! Why was my cpu maxed out while making a simple call.?

Your battery drain might be due to google play services and other apps running in the background

Several!
The extra parts, that extend the micro-USB 2.0 connection, increase your data bandwidth (allowing faster data transfers) AND increase the amount of power supplied. That means faster charging! It's completely backwards-compatible with micro-USB 2.0, so any old accessories and chargers you have still work (suck it, Apple), but at the same time, it increases your options because there is now more bandwidth and power available.
I picked up a Samsung micro USB 3.0 cable on eBay for £1.59 and it charges waaaay faster
