Hi all,
I have searched the threads for a definitive answer and there are a few different posts with a few different responses.
Is there a "set" order for the Verizon LG G2 in regards to Root, the OTA and Loki?
From what I've gather, I do NOT want to do Root -> Loki - > OTA.
Can I do OTA -> Root -> Loki (AKA: does the root tool work with the OTA)?
Or should I stick with Root -> OTA -> Loki?
Thank you!
OTA>Root>Loki works fine for me.

Just rooted using ioroot17. And of course, as soon as I do, I get the OTA (12B) pushed to my device. Going by autoprime's post, it says 012B root was added to ioroot way back in v12.
EDIT: After reading more I think my question should be will it break recovery? Currently have TWRP 2.6.3.3 flashed. TIA.
Accidentally accepted OTA, lost root.
BL unlocked (dev ed)
All threads I've found say root no longer works on 98.18.94 but I'm guessing that assumes locked BL which mine is not (dev ed)
Haven't done this in a while -- please help...
Motochopper? Safestrap? Matt's?
Or can I just use ADB to flash TWRP 2.6 -- will that root?
Patience and help greatly appreciated...
Thanks!
uhh if your bootloader is unlocked, just flash a custom recovery, then download the superuser binary and flash it through recovery. boom, rooted
Hi all,
Maybe I missed it, but I was wondering if there's a new one-click app (no computer needed) for rooting a VS980 with Lollipop on it. I have 39A on my Verizon phone now (lost root after taking the OTA) and now Stump doesn't work (says "device is patched").
Is there another 1-click, no-PC root method? Otherwise, I'm fine with re-flashing stock, as I'm all backed up. Or, if I simply flash the stock 39A kdz, can I use Stump root again? Ideally, I'd like to not do anything other than use a 1click root tool on what I have now... If one's available.
Recently returned to stock (via LG G2 is UNBRICKABLE NOW! [FIX REAL HARD BRICK]) and got all the OTA updates. Now my phone shows 3AA.
I've tried to root using the following methods:
[GUIDE] New Root Method for LG Devices
[ROOT] Root your G2 [ATT|VZW|TMO|KT|RGS|BELL|TELUS|OPEN] [Yay!]
Now my phone shows software version "VS9803AA" and "Modified". Are there any newer ways to root after the 3AA updaate?
Update?

Hey, so I am pretty new to rooting just wanting to optimize my phone a little, I rooted my LG G6 H870 through LG's official website, but SuperSU doesn't seem to recognize my root I have checked with fastboot getvar unlocked and I am supposed to have root, what's the problem?
Through LG's official website you can only unlock the bootloader, which give you the option to install a custom ROM or install a custom recovery and root your phone. Check the official thread in the guide news and discussion of Lg G6 and check the unlock bootloader thread.
