[Q] mb525 stuck in bootloader+ internal storage issue - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear community,
i am a (proud) owner of a green lens Defy and it has been a while since i began to flash new roms in my phone, thank to your amazing work to make our dreams come true
i have switched to cm7, cm9, cm10 with no problems at all, until i tried this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140839
and then, the nightmare began!
Now i have 2 big problems :
1) since this rom didn't work on my device, i tried to go back to another cm7 i used to try before and it didn't work anymore
Then i tried several ones which worked before with no success, then i tried to reflash my current sbf file (PL firm-3.4.2_131-003_DEBLUR_SIGN) with rsd lite (i tried 4.9 and 6.1.5 version btw) and i ended stuck in the bootloader. i tried the sbf i want to use now as it is recommended to work with cm7: (JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN), and i was still stuck in the bootloader
i don't know if we can call that to be bricked but whatever, i have done this walkthrough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807899&highlight=no+app2sd+partition
ok , with this walkthrough i can use a custom recovery or a nandroid backup but i (still) cannot install another .sbf file other than the one on the walkthrough (JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf) and i don't know why. it is a eclair rom if i am not mistaken, so , i should be able to rsd lite a froyo one with no problem. Here is my rsd lite log when i tried to flash JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN.

I spent hours to find links with persons who experience the same issue but i cannot find any reel solution.
i have seen : http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/31432-faq-cyanogenmod-7/
All-in-One Defy Beginner's guide :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
Is that possible taht the sbf files i try to flash have their CG versions lower that the JORDN_U3_97.21.51.sbf ? will i be able to flash froyo sbf files again?
2) my second probleme is : when i flash ( with custom recovery or nandroid files ) and use the previews cm7 i used i have a major issue:
my internal stockage is bugged : instead of the usual 1,5go of internal storage i usually had before i bricked my device, i only have 128Mo
internal storage space!!! ( i don't speak about sd card, ram and sd card seem working fine). i can't , then , reinstall my previews applications ( i didn't use hd games or big apk so i didn't have to store on my sd card)
I tried Aroma wiper & formatter 2.0 , but nothing change.
i would be grateful if somebody had some advices and could, eventually, redirect me on a valide link where i can download a nandroid version or custom recovery zip file of the JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_179-002_DEBLUR_SIGN.sbf file.
Thank you for this great site, indeed!
kind regards
edit: hurrah! i did a stock recovery wipe data/cache , and reinstalled my favorite recovery rom and now i have my 1,3go internal storage back ! i am so happy !

[Q] Another noob with a slightly bricked Defy

Hi all, :
Ive owned a defy since january, and after a lot of lurking here decided to take the plunge and have a play with it.
It was a stock unbranded uk defy with 2.51 blur rom, it rooted no problem with super one click, i then installed thi version of recovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875233
I then botted it into recovey and am now stuck in a bootloop.
I can access stock recovery (vol down and power) then touch bottom right of screen. I wiped cache and user data from here.
I can enter bootloader (vol up and power) and rsd lite can detect the phone.
My question is what is the easiest way to bring my phone back to life ? Im not sure if i need to flash sbf or rom.
Not to fussed about having the latest roms or mods, just a working phone before the battery gives out.
Thanks in advance, Sam
This happened to me a few days ago the way you should do it is download the 2.51 uk sbf file and flash it over using rsd lite and it should boot straight back Into the operating system and by the way how come that version did that to your phone I've installed recovery on 2 defys and they both worked
One more question did it boot up into recovery or not ?
No it didnt boot into recovery, just the boot loop. Any idea where i can get the uk sbf ? the link here seems to be dead
So you installed system recovery and then once again in the program installed it and then you clicked boot into recovery right ?
http://and-developers.com/sbf:defy
This website has all the sbfs your one should be the second on the list
RSD lite that one into your phone and it should be good to go
so.. is the usb debugging on?
when tap install recovery button, you should turn off usb debugging.

mannn you save my life, i was looking for a stock rom from Latin America, and i got it from that link.
Thanks for the link memz180. Downloaded sbf and flashed sbf and phone is now working. Next question is what is the idiot proof way to install recovery ?
You installed the correct recovery just make sure you click into the program and install the system recovery within the program and then click on boot to recovery make sure i would make sure superuser is allowing it so check that out to and also as stated above turn off your debugging in development and then click on recovery see if it works.
Goodluck
Rerooted phone and reinstalled recovery, no problems this time. Thanks all for your help.
Sam
No problem here at xda we do our best to help our fellow android mates lol

So, I was using my laptop with W7 to flash my Defy, I tried RSD lite 4.9 and 5.0 and kept getting the error message. I decided to give my desktop with Vista a shot and installed RSD lite 4.9 and the motorola drivers; i don't know why but immediately after plugging the phone in it started flashing! Awesome! After that I rooted again and installed 2ndInit (Wich is awesome!).
I backed up and flashed CM7 from the custom recovery mode. Everything started working excellent until I decided to re install 2ndInit!!! BIG MISTAKE! Never do that! I nearly bricked my phone again and couldn't load into recovery mode anymore! I had to re flash JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1. After that I had to repeat the whole process with the exemption of reinstalling 2ndInit after CM7.
Since 2ndinit is already installed you don't need to re install even if you don't have the app in your tray.
I'm in the same boat, my phone is in a reboot loop, and I can't seem to flash it...
RSD Lite 4.9 on win7
Error:
Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. Unable to retrieve initialization values from INI file. (0x7029); phone connected
/me bangs head against the wall...
read somewhere else it has to do with where RSD Lite is installed, on my win 7 32bit that was c:\Program Files\Motorola\RSD Lite...
uninstalled, reinstalled in c:\Motorola\RSD Lite and copied the sbf to that dir too... seems to be working... hope this helps someone else!

help me! big problem with my green lens Defy

Fisrt, sorry my poor English ^^!
i had a mistake in flashing rom for my defy (green lens) not plus
I flashed Stock SBF of Defy+ to my phone by RSD lite (so stupid ~.~!)
And now
1. Although I do whatever, the camera is not working (MS2Ginger2.1, CM7 nightly, greenbreadmod ...)
2. Although I do whatever, i can't downgrade to 2.2 stock: tried do nandroid restore + fixed SBF or flashing any SBF 2.2 stock by RSD lite => resulting: black screen + white LED => can not go into Stock recovery and bootloader can not be seen, but RSD lite can detect my phone => i redo my stupid work: flash Stock SBF of Defy+, root and install 2ndinit is ok ~.~!
please help me! i need camera work, status ofmy phone: version 2.3.6, MB526, slightly lag, camera not working (camera.apk, 360camera, LGcamera ...) so boring and tired.
i'm noob in English so please explain simple, understandable ^^ thanks so much
that`s exactly what i faced since 10 days...the problem is the stubborn build 2.3.6 which never allows u to install any different build...!! i think it`s a trap ..motorola itself ignored many Emails from me to solve this problem..
Make sure you delete Data and Cache
Don't flash a nightly of Cyanogenmod. Instead, flash the stable release - http://www.multiupload.com/AIWXM5HJWY
then flash the stable kernel - http://defy.wdscript.fr/kernel/CM7_Kernel-signed.zip
I'm not sure I understand all of your post, which makes it difficult to help!

Root Defy+ Android 2.3.6

So yeah, I tried rooting my Defy+ but it failed in every try I did:
First I tried the tutorial on the CM Forum (for installing CM7) but it didn't work.
Second I tried SuperOneKlick and similar tools but all failed.
Third I searched in Google very much but only found ways with Flashing the ROM.
My problem now is:
1. I don't want to flash another ROM
2. I wan't to root my Phone for apps e.g. AdBlocker
My Versions and Numbers:
System Version: 45.0.2310.MB526.Retail.en.DE
Baseband Version: EPU93_U_00.60.03
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-ge281 b6e [email protected] #1
Build Number: 4.5.1-134_DFP-231
(dunno what you need or not)
So is there any way that I may have overseen to root my Defy+? (Without flashing a different ROM?)
just here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956&highlight=root+231
Edit: Only way is to flash them 2 roms as you have chosen the 231 version which is the latest one with no downgrades so you have to only use that version or higher (when it comes out)
Try this stock rooted rom.Just flash it via rsd lite!
I send the download link because i cant post link directly!
maybe to add im not that advanced^^ have no idea what you are talking about
can i also directly flash CM7 via rsdlite?
ok i tried to flash those thingys but rsd lite was unable to open these things saying me invalid filetype
what are you trying to flash? if you are using the link I sent you use the CEE versions (second one) As the CN one you have to flash 3 files instead or the 2 on the CEE one.
I have flashed that may times and it always works you might have to extract the .SBF file out of the zip folder. The RSD lite I have will do it for you but not sure if the older versions do.

As i saw it cant get the external sd card info, so try changing it or mount it manually from mount and storage, or flash a custom recovery again
And the unknown baseband happens too when flashing roms

Motorola G2 XT1068 problem after flashing omni

Hello, i decided to open new thread because I nowhere find solution. My problem is that after flashing my moto g2 with omni 6.0.1 it get stuck on warning message (about unlocked bootloader). Now I can only get into bootloader menu, connect phone to PC (it's showing dewice as motorola dadb interface),I can only flash twrp using fastboot (fastboot boot twrp.img) and that's it. I can not flash anything permanently to the phone: any custom recovery, any rom, can't fix it with logofix. It just look like phone doesn't accept any flash. I tried also to change boot and other img but with no succes, always after any operation when I reboot phone it's get to warning message.
My phone is motorola 2G xt1068, 8gb, bootloader ver 48.87. Once I tried to flash it with retail rom from sd card via twrp 3.8.0.1 it shows that previous system was omni-titan 6.0.1 and retaildsdsall can not be flash, always shows error 7.
I wonder if I can flash it with upper version of omni: 7.0.1 to fix the problem with booting the phone.
If You could give me any advise how to solve the problem, I would be very appreciate.
Waitng for your reply Guys.
After a lot of tryes I found that anythig I do on the phone after restart it's getting to the same state, even if I manually deleted folder "Firmware", after reboot it's going back. When I prepared Moto for installing new rom using Philz recovery, all the data stay on it's place ( I mean private data like thumbnails in DCIM folder etc), nothing dissapeared. It's look like it have some copy of the system in internal storage and always after rebooting it's recovering it back, even if the system is flashed by new rom.
Have U any idea what's wrong with this phone?
Additinally I found that a lot of internal memory is busy: over 4500MB and free is only 780MB. Even after wiping everything, also formatting system.Should it be like this?
Edit: 2018-02-15
Ok, if noone could help me let's treat it as a blog.
Digging in google I found spanish site with a lot of custom roms for motorola. Now I'm trying one by one till I found the right one.
It's a pitty that Father's of the omni rom leaving me lonely in that situation, I think that they are the best of source of informations about that rom.
2018.02.19
I tried to install OmniRom 6.0.1 Homemade but on the beginning I had the infothat installation failed with error 7. So I found the solution to change the information in meta-info folder.I did it but when instalation started after "symlinkig" it stopped with error: some symlinks failed, error 7. And again I stucked.I feellike I'm very close of the solution but I need help. I'm using twrp 3.2.1.0 running via fastboot (boot twrp.img).
