Because I have to be noobish once a while :silly:
I'm sick of random reboots and that kind of stuff. Actually, I'm using JellyCast, but I'm seriously thinking about going back to stock. What's your opinion about it?
if this ROM doesn`t mean more speed and smoothness for you, go back to stock
or change the ROM
better u should change the rom stock rom interface is quiet boring after u use ics ui

From my opinion, stock is the most stable rom available, however it is **** laggy.
Tried few roms myself, they exceeded the performance of stock by far, but, at least, in my experience, they lack in some other part.
So, my suggestion is to stick with stock, but some tweak is necessary,
1-root it and enable xrecovery
2-delete unnecessary apps such as Wise'F*****N'Pilot, chinese and japanese keyboard if you are neither, and whatever apps you render unnecessary.
3-Apply FPS uncap by zdzihu
you are done, you will notice huge smoothness in your phone without the need to flash rom,and if you would want to make it even easier to use apply this theme, link below,

Now you have fast,user-friendly and stable phone, good luck....
Hello everybody and excuse me for starting a new thread. I would like to know wich is the best custom rom for HTC Magic, a friend of mine gave me his phone to flash a custom rom, he has no idea of flashing roms and he is amazed by my custom roms on Galaxy S. As long as i know the phone is rooted( i verified with Titanium Backup)
and i will follow the steps for flashing something on this device. All i want to know is what should i install for him? I just want something stable. Thank you!
Honestly if you want something stable and good on battery life, stay stock and just theme the stock rom. . . it's less hassle, don't have to worry about flashing radios, spl's, or worrying about a bug .ect .
I've used CM6, and ezGingerbread. . . unfortunately none of these froyo rom's worked for me after the 1st boot so i went back to stock and themed mines .

I've been pretty happy with the DreamTeam Froyo ROM. It's been very stable and in my experience the phone is a bit snappier as compared to the stock (T-Mobile) ROM.
Ion Rom for Magic is perfect. It's the most close to a stock rom, but with better energy behavior.
I've just pull my Magic out of the cupboard to use it during "dangerous" activities (trekking, etc), and I'll give him Ion again.

The most stable rom I've ever used is Froyobylaszlo. I just ext 4 and nothing else and it runs fine.
sionce i had this phone i never wanted to use the stock 1.5,, it's so annoying and very stupid and not supported by most of my apps "skype,viber,nimbuzz,whatsapp..etc" and so i changed to CM6 and it was so stable running it for daily use for about a year!! it's soo stable and powersaving is much pretty oookaay
now i'm using GingerYoshi it is reeeaally awesome and makes everything fast and easy and more stable than CM6 in games but it reboots immedietly if RAM went full it does not manage it well u'll need to use a task manager and close apps frequently..
short words,, i was really happy with my CM6 froyo but now i'm happier with GingerYoshi.. GY here i guess it's sticky up there in development

If you want something stable, you'd probably not feel like trying those mimicking the custom ROM on Galaxy S.
The stablest ROM I tried ever, with New Radio on my 32A device, is FroyoDragon0.7 with custom Froyo themes.
All the APKs you need can be found in the Android Market (Enabler).
It is really worthy of a try.
Totally agree with above post, froyodragon 0.7 is by far the best rom i've come across for this phone, second to that would be bananabread 3.1...very fast roms. no prob;lems so far, currently using froyodragon.
Hello everyone...this is my first post here. I got gifted a brand new U8800 pro device and i'm very happy of that fact. Do i need to change the stock 2.3.5 with a custom ROM?Can anyone to tell me what the differences are? And finaly recomandations for some other from the stock one theme? Thanks

1. You need to install CWM recovery only if you flash custom roms.
2. You dont need, if your happy with stock.
3. Differences are unique for roms. You can read them from rom threads usually.
4. Cant help you with theme
Stock roms are good but custom roms are way better than the stock.
Recently i change my stock rom with cyanogen and i see that the phone i faster than ever.
With custom rom you see the real power of the phone.
thank you julle131....and -TRANE-....i'll thing about changing the stock rom with the custom ones...thanks anyway
I recommend you installing CWM, you see, there are some really fancy stuff in UOT kitchen like more informative battery indicators and other goodness, and to install it you need custom recovery image.
What about custom ROMs, I've only tried CM7, but sadly sound of the back speaker is bad. Try it yourself, if you can cope with it then CM7, or maybe MIUI is the way to go, since custom ROMs almost always are better than stock no matter how good the last one is.
Hey guys,
Sorry for the noob question but I wanted to hear some of your opinions on this.
I got my Note 9005 shortly and after finally getting the Network to work, I decided to flash CM11 for now. I love CM11 but for a phone like the Note 3 which has an insane number of cool features, its not the best.
The problem is, I would use the stock rom for all the features but I absoloutely hate Samsungs UI and with the trouble ive been having with Odin, I thought id ask if there was a different rom I could use?
Is there some sort of alternative to the stock rom which:
1) I can flash with recovery
2) Has alot of the stock rom features
3) Does not look like a child made it (sorry to people who like TouchWiz)
I hope someone can help.
Thank you!
Better go for heavily themed roms based on stock rom

Hi, i have read it. Why dont you try some AOSP ROM: C-rom, Cacbon Rom
Carbon rom looks good but im more looking for something that takes full advantage of the Notes features not just Androids customizability.
If you really like "features" you may want to try a stock based rom like Omega or XNote

plenty of roms to choose from, and most are at least tweaked for more speed.
it just depends on what you want, AllianceRom for example is filled with customisation stuff, while SimplRom is debloated like mad.
and don't forget all other roms...but it's impossible to remove all lags though, that's just the way samsung created/abused some files
hope it helps a bit :good:
