[Q] Issue Installing Cyanogen Mod 10.1.3-RC2 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello,
I am having issues installing CM10 on my Canadian Bell S4 and I'm hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. Here is what i have done so far -
Following the instructions here on cyanogenmod website for jfltecan I have installed ClockworkMod Recovery on the device using the Heimdall suite drivers.
Next, these instructions told me to adb push the CM rom onto the phone - however, i was unable to do this, receiving the following output:
Code:
D:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools>adb push cm-10.1.3-RC2-jfltecan.zip /sdcard/
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device not found
I rebooted the device back into stock ROM, used windows explorer to copy the CM ROM .zip file onto the SDcard, reflashed ClockworkMod Recovery onto the device, wiped all user data, wiped device and dalvik cache, and installed the CM ROM.
Now, the device is sitting on the first boot screen in what seems like an endless loop. I have tried resetting the phone, it simply resumes the circle animation and seems to get nowhere.
I can still boot into ClockworkMod Recovery.
running 'adb devices' shows an empty list while the phone is plugged in both in recovery mode and in the cyanogen logo endless circle
Does anybody have ideas for how i can fix my phone?
Thanks!

Hello to anyone who digs this up,
Sorry for my first post in a panic - i did some more searching around - found some recommendations to wipe /system. I accomplished this by using the 'mounts' section of ClockworkMod Recovery, then reinstalled the CM rom, and now it is working fine.
Thanks!

HELP - recovery issues. Unable to flash any ROMs

Months ago I flashed a Modaco custom ROM to my friend's San Francisco. There haven't been any problems of late, however today I attempted to flash a Froyo build so he can try out C2DM apps like Beejive and Facebook and I was unable to load up a recovery screen. When holding Vol DOWN and booting I just got a white rectangle with FTM inside it - indicating that there was no recovery image installed.
I tried flashing Clockwork Recovery with the ZTE Blade Recovery Manager 2.9 but it kept saying 'Unrecognised' after selecting the .img file, no matter which one I used or whether I changed the name or screamed 'hail Mary'. I attempted multiple reinstalls to no avail.
The device is rooted so I tried using Terminal from the Android Market and flashing the recovery image but although it didn't come up with any errors I was still unable to boot into the recovery image. All it does now is show a green android the same as it would if pressing VOL UP when booting.
I've even tried installing with fastboot for mac, but despite being able to input the necessary commands, fastboot doesn't flash the device and just sticks at 'waiting for device' when the recovery flash command is executed. I've tried connecting the device a number of times, rebooting etc. I have no other USB ports available and no access to a Windows pc at present.
Can anyone assist here? The phone still works fine with the Modaco ROM but it's a bit annoying if that's all he will ever be able to use now!
Thanks in advance.
Japanese_Jellyfish_RLS9_image.zip should be easy, and it installs recovery as well. Please read how to install it.

[Q] Unable to mount /cache - Stuck at CM boot Screen

Specifics first -
Device: VS980 (VZW LG G2)
Recovery: TWRP 2.6.3.2
ROM: CM 10.2 12/6 Nightly
I had a random reboot while trying to answer a phone call today. Its happened before. So I figured I would reflash the nightly to see if it would correct itself. I entered recovery from the power button menu. I tried to flash the nightly from the CyanDelta folder (tinkering around earlier, downloaded it, detected rom, and deleted from cmupdater file). For some reason I decided to wipe cache and dalvik after installing. The phone never rebooted after that. I proceeded to try and power up only to be faced with a constant CM boot screen (I knew something was wrong when I notice how long it took to get to the CM screen). I was able to get back into recovery to try and flash the 11/30 nightly, which I hadn't touched. After flashing, I noticed the "Unable to mount /cache". So instead of trying to fight with my phone to get back into recovery, I flashed a backup. It also displayed the "Unable to mount /cache". My phone was in recovery where I performed a factory reset. ADB was recognizing it and receiving commands. I unplugged it to see if I could get into download mode. Now I cant get it back into recovery. When I do "adb devices" it shows up as "unauthorized". Where do I go from here? I have very limited adb experience.

[D800] Stuck on LG boot logo

I had CM11 M6 installed. I wanted to flash this kernel called Furnace. I used the AOSP version, not sure if I should've used stock. Before I flashed it, I tried to wipe the cache. It was taking about 5 minutes so I force rebooted it. After I did that, my phone would be on the LG boot screen for about 3 minutes (before it was about 5 seconds) then I would see the CM boot screen. Overnight I tried wiping the cache again. When I woke up, I was on the lock screen. I flashed Furnace and then I was stuck on the LG boot screen. I went back into recovery and tried resetting to factory or whatever it's called and it took awhile to format /cache but it eventually did. Still, I was stuck on the LG boot screen. For some reason I thought installing a new recovery would help (I had CWM before). I pushed a TWRP recovery file for my device to my phone. I then put this command in the adb shell: dd if=/sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery (recoveryfilename.img was replaced with what it was named). I rebooted into recovery from the old recovery, and on the top left it said secure booting error. I tried restarting and booting into recovery, no luck. Now I'm not really sure how to flash a new recovery because I can't get into recovery. I'm pretty sure to fix my booting problems I need to reflash CM, which will flash CM's kernel...?
Also, when I try to use fastboot commands on my computer, I get ERROR: could not get pipe properties
Can I use adb while it's in this boot state? Please help!
By the way, I'm using a mac
Edit: Looked around on the Furnace Kernel thread, I guess I used a too new version of the kernel for CM11...
Edit: Found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142, gonna try it out soon...

Bricked Mojo

Hi,
I had CM12 installed on my Mojo - but wifi kept dropping out so I decided I wanted to flash the stock rom as discussed in these threads. I wiped everything except the external sd card which had the stock zip on it (data, internal, dalvick etc)
I tried to flash the stock rom and nothing happened past the MD5 message (it was stuck on the flash) - so I pulled out the power cable and now when I try and reboot the Mojo I get nothing but a black screen. I've tried connecting with USB 2.0, but adb does not pick up any device (on adb devices command). Any hope for a recovery of this one??
I've managed to get into the boot screen but I get a simple message saying "....driver not found.. Booting OS" and it's permanently stuck on this message
TWRP is there but where??

I can't seem to get it to boot into TWRP - even though I know it is on there, as it was there after I did the wipe!

Phone is (soft?) bricked.

My phone is a6000 plus variant and was running on CM 12.1 update 19 prior to getting bricked. I have flashed the same ROM before, however, this time I ended up flashing it twice-the second flash without clearing cache, data and the like and on top of the same ROM.
The problem is that the phone is not booting into recovery (just showing the lenovo logo).
It is however booting into fast boot mode. (Hold power key for reboot).
Now, I would just use adb to flash the phone but with cyanogenmod 12.1 with no update, the device is not showing in adb. (The USB worked fine before this, however I had USB connected during flashing and noticed that CM 12.1 with no update would not be detected on my PC.)
The phone is alive and well just not being detected in adb. Every time I connect the device to my PC via USB, the drivers install but fail.
I tried updating the drivers with device manager but error 10 is showing.
If I remove the battery the phone shuts down, until I power it up again, which results in the lenovo android logo on the screen.
What are my options in such a case?
Timeline of events:
I boot my phone into twrp with adb and flash CM 12.1 no update.
I see that the PC adb is not working and drivers fail to install.
I boot the phone into recovery using advanced recovery and notice that in twrp recovery the adb devices detect my phone.
I flash a queue of CM 12.1, update 20 and super user zip.
I recall that I had forgotten to clear data, cache and the like and end up dirty flashing.
I reboot the phone thinking it will fix it but the device just boots up the android and lenovo logo.
Furthermore, the device is not being detected in adb and drivers fail to install.

First of all remove your sd card and use a sd card reader or put it in another phone.
Then on the other phone/PC download a stock CM12 or 13 ROM and Gapps.
Save the ROM on the sd card.
Put the sd card on your phone and go to recovery
Wipe everything except SD CARD and then flast the ROM and GApps
