[Q] Phone update while rooted?

Hey, i found out that a person on a norwegian forum could software update his galaxy s2 while rooted without problems, can galaxy s4 do the same?
Cause i remember when i had HOX i couldnt update at all, i just got installation failure when i tried to.
So can S4 update while rooted? Or will it too be unable to update?

You can try doing that since i can update my rooted phone's.... note2, ace 2 and my beloved small phone galaxy y...

You need to install Custom Recovery first and then flash ZIP from SD card:

- With this rom you will get both your phone rooted and updated and adding to that you will have full Kies & OTA update and your phone status will remain Offical.

- If you don't know what is DEODEX ? Well, to simplify it : it allows you to modifiy your phone apperence.

So that thing will temporary fake disable root to make the android think it's not rootet and do a successfull update?
And regarding this photo:
Does that mean i can use it since i did not use kies to update the phone with?

As i`am not an OTA lover it is best to flash the updated rom from Sammobile with Mobile Odin Pro and also keep root

Can you elaborate a little more?
Just got my I9505 (international unlocked) a little while ago. Turned it on and updated (OTA) until no more update. Rooted (using ODIN) and install OTA root keeper. Will I receive OTA update notification when there is one and will I be able to update safely?

EU 1092 in Czech Republic by OTA now

How can i do a factory reset? if I try to do it through android it just hangs up, and I can't (or don't know how to properly do it) access the recovery menu.
Edit: I did it.

Allow the device to receive and install the latest Stagefright patch first. Then do the 6.0 OTA.

OTA in Poland is also up !!!

Currently on CM 12.1 SNAPSHOT.
Edit: nvm flashed stock 5.1.1 firmware(the latest), then adb sideloaded the OTA.

Please i would be grateful if someone could give me a help to install the update. I can not install OTA, my device restarts and say that there was an error during installation.
First of all, i have 5.1 original firmware (23.16.3.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU retfr), with stock recovery and unlocked bootloader. I was root and i deleted some pre-installed apps like Google+, Hangouts etc. And the deletion was permanent.
Then i flashed the original logo to remove the warning screen from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/warning-message-unlocked-bootloader-t2871478
Yesterday i received the notification for the OTA and of course i remooved permanent SU from it's menu, and delete all SU binary etc.
But i still no install OTA.
Could anyone give me the steps how to install the OTA from the first post here?
I read about adb sideload but i have never used this kind of flashing. I do not have TWRP installed as i said, i am in stock recovery.
Motorola Device Manager says that there is no update file for my device!!!
Please help me. Thank you very very much...

I think I'll gonna try this method now, I have nothing to lose. This is kinda long and frustrating way to do this, I'll update you guys

I used prf creator 1.2 with the US Version, Z3C-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined and BETA-SuperSU-v2.71-20160331103524.
Device is stuck at the boot animation. also after flashing twrp reported that root is gone, twrp does not work either!
We have to be patient a bit longer i guess

It's not beta.. ITS an OFFICIAL rollout..
Even PC companion is showing software update notification.

Guys prerooted zips won't work. First of all, Sony's android 6.0.1 has a DEDICATED recovery partition. YOu just need to flash ftf using flashtool.
Use fastboot to unlock recovery and flash a TWRP image using:
fastboot flash recovery <twrp image>
then boot to recovery and flash superSU zip

I haven't really tried to root on locked BL on MM since I only had it for some time. Nevertheless, you can update if you don't care about rooting for now

it is said to be flashed in .82 stock recovery, I suggest to follow it to avoid issues. ?

When I tried to Restart my phone, the graph from the battery menu changed. It doesn't show the whole status of the battery since 100% hence it only shows the status when the phone was rebooted.

How to root 6.0?
I tried by flashing TWRP via fast-boot mode but it shows error of signature verification.
Please tell me how to root?

Good morning and good afternoon everyone, I'm surprised that there isn't any ROM for the YotaPhone 2 based on Android 6.0.1 available for download. So I decided to tweak for my own. This ROM is based on Russian Official YotaPhone 2 Android 6.0.1 ROM Version RU1.1.47, and I recompiled it into a ZIP which you can just flash in TWRP Recovery. I also tweaked SuperSU and Xposed Frameworks. I also compiled a much more stable version of TWRP which an work with this ROM. Happy Flashing!

The GPS is fine, no need to fix, and it's Marshmallow instead of Lollipop.

Marshmallow has the same gps config . Have you tried it? it is 10 times faster because the stock config doesn't use glonass...

Today I got randomly struck by the endless "optimizing apps" bootloop glitch of death, forcing me to do a factory reset.
I'm now free to install this ROM, but I would want to wait if you can add the gps fix.
Could you also add some minor instructions about how to install everything right? Thank you!

Installed it but very slow and keeps freezing the phone, tried resetting it but it doesn't do much help, I like the features though, it has a lot of nice features maximizing the use of dual display.
