So last night I hard bricked my nexus 4. its rooted, with cyanogenmod 10.1 ROM, and ive never had any issues with this phone. I have no idea what happened, but I sent a text message to someone, and it powered itself down. it was fully charged when this happened, so I know its not the battery. ive done some research, and its a true hard brick. no bootloader, no recovery, I just get a red/orange flashing light if I hold down the power button. google said im still under warranty, and they will still replace it even with it being rooted. My question is, is it possible to fix without having to get a replacement, or JTAG? If anyone has had any success, please help.
And like I said, I was only sending a text. I have no idea why it bricked, it restarts itself once in a while randomly, but this time it didn't turn back on.
Try plugging it into the wall for about 5 minutes then try turning it on again. If it doesn't work, RMA it. Why would you risk your warranty and JTAG it?

No, I DONT want to JTAG it. im looking for alternatives. if its possible to fix a hard brick without JTAG or using my warranty. If at all possible, I want to fix it, because I have a lot of pictures and everything on there that I would like to get out of it. I don't want to lose them. JTAG is my last resort if I cant get it replaced, but they said they would. I want my stuff off it though.

This is your last hope. If it doesn't work, RMA it and request for your data to be saved. Not sure if they can do it, but just ask.

thank you I really appreciate it. im gonna try it out and see if it works.
This might be a noob question, but ive never heard of download mode. is it the same as recovery mode on the nexus 4?

ok so if the nexus 4 wont go into download mode, or fastboot, or anything else, I have no choice but to RMA it right? cuz the ONLY response im getting from it is a red/orange flashing light when I hold down the power button. other than that, nothing happens.

Did you press volume down first and then the power button both for a few seconds to get into fastboot mode?
Nope. The ONLY time it has any sign of life is if the charger is connected to it and I hold down the power button. If it's NOT connected to the charger, pressing the power button does absolutely nothing. I can't go into recovery mode, download mode, or the bootloader. I've tried charging it overnight, (and part of the next day) left it off the charger for over a week, it shows up as "Qualcomm-something" when I plug it into a computer, but I can't do ANYTHING with it connected to a computer either, and after I got my replacement, I tried taking out the battery and putting it back in. There was still no change......I've literally done EVERYTHING short of JTAG. Trust me, I searched all over google, and XDA, and tried everything. As far as I know, hard bricking is rare, but it happens. And it just happened, to happen to me. So unless there's a solution someone knows of that I didn't just list, my last option is JTAG.
sinndissension said:
yep. ive done EVERY combination of holding down the buttons, no response. when I plug it in to a laptop, the laptop beeps, like the USB connection sound, but the nexus doesn't show up on the computer. I know the computer recognized what kind of phone it was, cuz the first time I plugged it in, I got a pop up message saying "installing qualcom drivers", or along the lines of that. other than that, NOTHING has worked. If theres ANY fix for this, id like to give it a try, cuz ALL my stuff is on there.

Try charging it for a while and try again in a few hours or better yet tomorrow. Sometimes that helps bro. If that doesn`t help you`ll have to take it in for repair an maybe they can salvage your data if they are wiiling to do that. Good luck.
I think it's just your battery(RLOD) instead of a brick.
See this:

I wouldn't be worried about your files stored on your phone because I think Google has more work to do than search in peoples pictures. What I would worry about is your warranty since you have a custom rom, unlocked bootloader and root...

Well, found out it WAS a hard brick. Google replaced it with my warranty. For some reason they returned my money before I even got the chance to send the broken nexus 4 back. Didn't even mail it. So I'm assuming I don't have to send it back. So I'm gonna JTAG the hard bricked nexus, and hopefully it'll work again.
Thanks everyone for your help.

You may not be doing it right. When I get the flashing light on mine it means I forgot to let go of the power button fast enough. When it vibrates, let go of power button immediately but keep pressing the volume. Does your phone vibrate a few seconds prior to the flashing light?

so i have the same problem. was about to tweet with full battery so my question is what did you end up doing? Did you fix it or abandon it?
Weird. I've had the "red light of death" 2 hours ago because i didn't put the phone on the charger and it had like 4%. Pressing Volume down + power got it to enter fastboot and i was able to start the phone normally so it's charging booted

Ok, I got mine replaced because it was still under warranty, and normally, the manufacturer cant tell its rooted or unlocked if its a true hard brick, (rooting and unlocking voids your warranty.) So i got mine replaced.
If your NOT under warranty still, your ONLY option if you want to fix it is JTAG. Google it, it costs about 50 bucks on average, but its cheaper than a Nexus 4. Research JTAG before you try it though. Or you have to buy a new one. I still have my only one, and i basically use it for parts for my newer N4.
Is it a true HARD brick, or just a soft brick?

its a hard brick. ive tried it all bought a new battery installed it etc. ive looked up jtag and i have the money but idk if i should do it. do you recomend it? i have no experience doing anything like it and im planning on getting the iphone 6 in the fall but i cant stand not having a phone till then especially since high school starts soon.
But the reason im sure its a hard brick is cuz when it shut down the battery was like 50 and charging and it froze for 25 seconds or so then shut down and refuses to boot or show any signs of life now except a blinking or solid red light but its not the red light of death because i replaced the battery therefore i came to the conclusion that it is hard bricked.
i know ive said alot of unecessary information but my question is do you think i should buy the jtag thing? do you reckon its easy to do? or maybe i could pay an experienced professional to do it?
thanks for the reply btw

My Nexus one won't turn on. I tried flashing RADIO 32.24.00.22U_4.03.00.21_2 that I downloaded from Modaco.
After it failed to install showing the error message like
"Multiple Radio images"
and a few others I try to reboot it.
when trying to reboot it there showed a picture of a android and a orangish arrow and a box.
Help...I think I bricked it.
Help?
Please?
Can you get into boot loader? Hold down the track ball, then power on, and keep holding down the track ball...
Also, try holding down the "volume down" toggle button while powering on if the track ball method doesn't work...
If both don't do anything but take you to that same screen, let it sit on that screen for a bit, say 10 minutes just in case...
If still nothing, see what happens when you plug your phone into your computer with the data cable, is it recognized? If so, can you get ADB to recognize it?

can u get to the recovery image? if u can, its not bricked.
well I tried plugging it into the computer, I tried the wall charger, and nothing seems to work. The LED doesn't come on, and the button combination doesn't work. So I think it's dead for good. :C Before everything got screwed All I saw was a box and an arrow pointing at a android. Which I think meant it was unboxing. I then thought it froze so I tried to take the battery out, and after that it didn't turn on anymore. No LED, no recovery, no nothing. :C Quite sad.
Why the f are so many people intent on taking their batteries out while the phone is updating? I'm not saying that led to the bricking...but it probably didn't help.

This part takes a few minutes. I am not totally sure what is happening at this point but I'm assuming it's not good to remove battery during this. Mine sat on that screen for a few min and then finished.
Try to boot up with volume down button held. Then use volume arrows to choose recovery and hit power.

Everyone expects everything to be instant these days... "Uh oh! The screen isn't doing anything, it's been at least 20 seconds! I could just wait and leave it for a few minutes like all the guides say to do. Or I could take my battery out...how could that hurt, right?"
For me it took a good 3-4 minutes on the screen with the arrow and the box.
Anyways, if you can't get to the recovery then you might be buying a new N1.
ahh it took like 5 minutes for me, I have to admit I was a little worried since you dont see status bars or anything, but like said, the guides warn for this.
I cant imagine that removing the battery broke it though, he should be able to load a recovery image
I feel sad for him so bumping
Bleh. I'll just have to wait and see. I'll contact HTC.

If you remove the battery during the period he did, which is when the phone is actually flashing the radio ROM, yes removing the battery can and likely did break it for him. There are 2 ways to brick an Android device, while flashing a radio ROM and while flashing an SPL...
OP, have you tried any of the button combos we have recommended? Have you tried putting your battery in the phone, then without turning it on, putting it on the charger to see if it can charge the battery at least (you said it wasn't even turning on, which is likely because you have a dead battery)... charge the battery first, then try the button combo's we recommended.
And please, when you report back, and not to sound like an ass, do so clearly and systematically (I can't tell from your posts what did or didn't happen, and whether you tried anything we suggested, nor what the current state of the phone is)... so, please use this format to make it clear to us trying to help:
Battery: Charged or Wouldn't Charge (LED will come on if it is charging)
Trackball+Power: Booted into boot loader, yay! or Went to the damn box
Volume down+Power: Booted into fast boot! or Went to the damn box
And remember, you have to hold down the button, either trackball or volume down, then press the power and keep holding down the trackball or volume down until it either goes to boot loader or it goes to the box screen... you might want to even wait for a minute on the box screen(if it goes to that) while holding down the button to make sure it can't get into boot loader...
Okay so I took the battery out, put it back in, and tried charging it. The Battery LED did not come on, so I'm guessing it's not charging.
The Trackball+Power did not work.
The Volume down+Power did not work.
I think I most likely broke it, due to the fact that I took the battery out while it was flashing the radio ROM onto the phone. I kinda did it on a impulse, which is my fault. So do you think it'd be possible if I did contact HTC they'd send me a swap, and not be able to make my phone work or turn on, and everything will go on as if I "broke" it and not unlock it or anything?

It sounds like you have a true brick... disruption of the radio ROM flashing causes lots of bricks, and did so for you.
It is pretty common, at least with T-Mobile with the G1, to call them up and tell them your phone asked you to update, and while updating it froze and won't turn on or charge anymore. Not sure if HTC will handle it the same as T-Mobile did, but if they do they will just send you a new unit, you send the old one back, and you are back up and running... they might ask that you send it to them first, but there is no way for them to test if it was rooted/unlock boot loader if it can't be powered on, so you should be fine.
Sweet. So I called HTC, and they said they'll repair it, but I asked for a swap instead, so I'll be getting one by either Wednesday, or Thursday. Good stuff! I'll tell you all how it goes. :] Now I am stuck with my Nokia N95. Thanks for all your help.

Yeah, he doesn't have to tell them... but they don't have to cover his phone either.
If they find out it's unlocked after the fact, they can charge you to repair the phone.
How exactly will they know he unlocked the bootloader if the device cannot even properly turn on, unless htc has other methods of being able to "restore" the phone, then he should be rather ok. Am I not looking into this deeply enough? Can the phone turn on with a new battery or something? Does HTC have alternatives ways of checking?

That's my point man.. I don't know. All they have to see is that open padlock and they can deny the claim.
On Saturday night i was txting playing beer pong having a good time.
When all of a sudden a black screen came out saying something about how it was goin to restart and reset or something like that and that all my personal info would be gone.
So i did it and once it restarted it just stayed stuck on the boot up screen.
Not thinking twice about it as i was having fun i just put it in my pocket thinking maybe its gonna take a lil longer but then i realized after awhile it was still on that same screen.
I took out the batter turned it on again same thing happened.
I gave up and decided i'd just deal with it the next morning.
Next morning comes its now like around 1-ish crazy party haha
Point is phone is dead i charge it for 30 min? i try turning on and nothing.
So then i boot up pushing both buttons figured i would do a hard reset.
Still nothing!
My friend decides to take me home so i take this time to charge my phone a lil more with his car charger and at first it was charging then out of no where it doesn't charge?
No light?
No boot up?
Nothing?
I take the battery out and back in then plug it into the charger and the light doesn't turn on but my phone just starts vibrating uncontrollably...
This freaks me out so i take the battery out and again same thing.
I took the battery out for a couple minutes then put it back in and it started charging again.
yay!
Oh btw the whole time this happened i was able to get into bootloader mode so i figured it cant be bricked and i can fix it just got to charge it.
I got home battery wasn't that charged but i plugd it in to my computer in bootloader mode hoping it would charge for a bit then i downloaded a new rom and i read it was a good idea to use task29.
Sounded like a great idea to fix my phone.
I got the Repack by ShaDrac and flashed it on my phone.
One strange thing i did notice was that usually when i flash it i see HTC then a progress bar.
This time it was just blank all black but with the progress bar i saw it go all the way to 99% and 100% on my computer it even said successful flash.
But after that it just stayed off?
No reboot ?
NOTHING!
wont charge
wont turn on
no bootloader mode
completely bricked.
im sure the battery is just dead since it wasn't that charged to begin with but i have no way of charging it!
I did a lot of googleing and found no answers i refuse to believe its bricked!
it cant be rite??

If you have only had it for a week then the best thing is to just take it back to wherever you bought it and ask for a direct replacement as it should still be within the time frame for that.
Sounds like you have done everything possible to bring it back, taking the battery out, hard reset. If it wont turn on, wont go into the bootloader and you cant get an activesync connection then theres not really much more you can do.
Mark.
yea i agree, dont waste time fiddling and trying to bring it back, get round the shop today.
Unfortunately thats not an option as i got it from someone else and then unlocked it since im on at&t. At most i would have to call htc and hope the manufactureres warranty can do something but i highly doubt it.

You might try taking the battery out and leaving it out for at least 24 hours. Sometimes that will reset a few things and bring the screen back on but im not guarenteeing anything. Yo uhave nothing to lose at this stage though. You could also try connecting it to your pc via activesync and see if it connects. Even if the screen isnt coming on you might still get a connection which you could use to flash a new rom.
Even getting a replacement battery off ebay very cheaply might sort it out as I have heard of batterys going funny before.
Just a few sugestions.
Mark.
all the phones should (I think) be manufacturer warrantied for the first year, so I bet htc will fix it, though you might have to pay shipping.
dig out your regions htc repair center and get in touch. so long as they can't see the hspl it should be free.(
I dont have HD2 (<--nexus one), but one thing i have noticed with all HTC phones that I've had something similar happen is when i have tired to reboot the phone by turning it off and then trying to turn back on it wont. I would take the battery out and still it will not. I would do the same with the sd card and same but what fixes it is taking the SIM out press the power button few times with no battery and then putting everything back on and it turns on. It happens in a while. Maybe not the same problem but i guess its worth a try if you haven't yet. One more thing I would try is to take the battery out, the sd card and the SIM card out and then plug your phone into the charger and wait a few mins to see if the led or screen would come on. Try the same thing by plugging it to your computer. If computer does make sound and it does detect your phone then it might just a screen related issue which might be the case since you already flash it with a different rom and nothing came on. I know you probably have tried this but you didnt say in your post but have you tried this?
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:
“This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to the manufacturer default settings. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer defaults, or press other keys to cancel.”
3. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
4. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
Good luck
I agree with mskip about the 24H thing if you let the internal/backup battery die it could solve a possible brick then by reflashing
also what deanesn said about the HD phones its also true (same prob with G1 and excalibur) sometimes out off nowhere it wont turn on or its just going to give you a black screen... wierd huh!?
important things I wanna know is
what rom where you using? what radio version? what were the last app or apps you installed on your HD2?
anyways from what I've read&done ever since I joined XDA this is the best thing to do in a situation like yours
This is when you get a black screen
1 if its stuck on the boot screen try to do another hard reset
2. if you cant or nothing happeneds try to see if you can acces the bootloader screen
3. if you cant, remove the batterie for like 24H or maybe more so the internal batterie dries out (if you do that make sure that you try to estimate around 50% to 70% before removing the actual batterie for reflashing)
4. then insert the batterie and try to acces the bootloader or hard reset by pressing the key combanations dont try to see if by a miracle chance it would fix the problem (trust me at this point it wont)
5. if it actually DOES bootup find and download THE STOCK ROM FROM TMOBILE
6. HARD reset if nothing then do it agn but before it has a chance to, try to boot up
7. quickly acces the bootloader wipe your phone (task 29 for hd2) and flash the STOCK ROM (not a custom rom. I read somewhere that its always better to go with an official tmo rom)
thats it Ive try many things on my ALMOST bricked situations this are the things Ive done MAYBE IT WONT WORK FOR YOU, one time I thought my excalibur was dead until I left my phone without a batterie for like a weak then later out of nowhere it boots up only on the first tmobile splash screen and I was able to fix it
LOL even tho those steps prob dont apply to you what you can do is call HTC and tell them you have a black screen on your htc DONT TRY AND ACT all smart by telling them you have a brick and you had a custom rom and all of that cause that prob voids your warranty with HTC, from what I've read this one guy told them that his girlfriend was texting and then the phone froze and the she remove the batterie and the screen went black. And he got a replacement
also another one that I read is a guy telling them he was doing an OFFICIAL ROM UPDATE and the phone never turned back on.
hope it helps
Mark:
Thanks, and this is actually my plan lol I used to flash my old motorola rizr all the time even had to testpoint it to bring it back from a complete BRICK! but the one thing i couldnt fix was water damage haha but after a week of having the battery out some how... miraculously it came back
Deanesn:
How is the nexus one? I was gonna get a nexus one or a hd2 but the screen size ended up being the tie breaker although ever since my g1, android has had my heart haha
Ive always hated windows mobile but the hd2 was perfect!
I also agree with what u said, i have seen those symptons before.
But yea thanks on the advice.. sadly... already tried it and nothing.. =/
Tuppaacc:
Thnx thats exactly what im trying to do.

I was using Duttys_Leo_Sense_2.5_5.2.21898.5.0.91_2.10_Radio_2.08.50.08.2_HG_V1.7_WWE Rom.
Im not really sure what radio i was using but if i had to guess i would say 2.10 since i dont remember flashing anything else and i heard the best radio was the one the HD2 already came with.
As for the last app installed ummm.... iGo8? not sure either but in total all the apps installed where

umm cant think of any other ones. I know i didnt install much just had flashed the rom the night before.
again sorry for skipping your question.
try
try taking sd card out and boot it work for me
Here is what you have to do after I made a mistake and "killed" my US version HD2, but it's back to service.
First of all, you have to be sure the battery has at least 50% left. If the unit is able to charge the battery, leave it charged for a couple of hours.
Second, unplug all the cables from the unit, take the battery and wait for a few seconds, then put the battery back in. Press and hold volume down button and press red (end/power) button once. If everything goes well, you should see a tri-color screen.
Third, plug in the phone and run ROM update again.
WARNING: flashing will erase your personal data.

the thing is the phone itself wont charge the battery.
I plug it into the wall and no lights turn on to indicate its charging.

You need to get a desktop charger so you can plug the battery in and make sure its fully charged. I dont think they are available from shops but you can buy them online (ebay) for around a fiver.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Desktop-Battery...&otn=8&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=9087015918333818927
That one says for the T8585 but im pretty sure they both use exactly the same battery. You might want to check on that though.
Mark.
My goodness, that OP is a real doozie.
That's pretty wild man, although I don't have much input, other than the obvious suggestions that have already been provided for you... I will say that was a worthy read.
Yea thats pretty much my only option I will be buying that desktop charger real sooon and ill get back to the forum with my results.
Cant believe they are so cheap haha
Ive even seen one that comes with an extra OEM battery and charger for under 15 dollars!

U have a Bricked HD2 my friend
i bought the wall charger and it charged the battery but it still wouldnt turn on or go into bootloader mode or do anything!!
=[
..
any luck with un-bricking your HD2?
Seems like OP bought a damaged phone in the first place or something, or something "happened" on the night of the party. Beer got on it, perhaps?

This is exactly what happened to a friend of mine as well. He accidentally flashed the captivate Odin3; nothing works now. The weird thing is, is when you plug up the phone now it will do nothing. It won't power on. It won't even give prompt from the computer, anything. The only way it will power up at all is having he battery in only. Can someone explain me how this might happen? Can a software flash just short out a board?
I don't know how to help you...but am wondering why do people try this?????? We know there is no recovery available...I am just speechless.... That's probably why moto locked bootloader cause of crap like this and money loss

Ill on honestly he could of been looking for a way to clear the stock/angel rom, so that he could reflash to stock. Even if you reflash/wipe cache/ reformat some settings remain. For instance if you don't have debugging on and you turn the brightness off by mistake you're FUBAR'd!
Can he get to download mode (battery out! Usb connected. Volume down). If he does, there's still hope.
I actually had to flash the US Cellular kernel in order to get to the point where I could re-flash the stock kernel.

I have flashed the captivate rom and the i9000 rom before from odin, and was still able to get into download mode. At the time i hadnt made the odin restore files so i had no way of fixing it. The files i created in another thread should be able to get him back, as namebrandon can tell you

That is what is so weird about all this. If he usb is plugged in at all the phone will not power on. It will only power on when it is using the battery.
And yes. He was trying to flash back to stock ROM bc he bricked it with a different ROM. He was under the impression that Odin would auto detect his phone.

If he cannot get into download mode (pull out battery, pull out sd card, put battery back in, hold ONLY the volume down key and plug into computer) then he completely bricked his phone. He might have clicked the update boot loader option in Odin, or just flashed something that he didn't know what would happen when he did.
If he takes it back to verizon, they will most likely replace it as long as he doesn't tell them he rooted it / tried flashing it.

Microwave?
Take the battery out first. 4-5 seconds should do it. Too long and the plastic will melt.

um. how about that is a horrible idea. i just kicked you on irc for even suggesting that.
If you cant get into download mode, you could always splice a micro usb cable into a surge protected outlet and burn out the board...

We're to the point of trying to figure out how to completely destroy a phone so it won't boot. I don't think burning out the board is much more of a risk than a microwave for 4-5 seconds. What if his cable lights on fire, then his carpet, etc..
It's a stupid point to argue.

lol.. or you could do that. Nice work.
Love this thread.
That's not how you break a phone, THIS is how you break a phone.
No no no, you're breaking it wrong!
I should take it to AT&T and ask them to activate it. "sir, this is a Verizon phone"
"no it's not"
"yes, it is."
"look you idiot, it as your effing name comes up when you turn it on"
":/"
So there is a guy in my town selling a bricked G2, his ad says "was trying to root my LG G2, Now it wont turn on or anything, even when I try and charge it or plug it in. No idea what do to but dont have time to figure it out and needed a phone for work so have already replaced it."
I don't have one of these phones or know anything about the specifics of rooting them or installing ROMs on them, but I have installed them on my own phone (Optimus G) as well as bricked my own phone a number of times and fixed it.
My main question is, if this guy isn't lying and he didn't just drop it in a toilet and dry it out or something like that, is it possible for rooting or installing a ROM or whatever to completely brick it beyond repair? Or if I hop on IRC and get the necessary tools should it be fixable even if its a slight pain in the ass?
I found with my phone no matter how bad I had messed up there was always LGNPST with the stock software to fix it, so I figured it would be similar for this phone but I wanted some more opinions on it, thanks for the help and sorry for my lack of knowledge.
There are a couple of ways of hard bricking g2s so I'd be really careful with this one. If it won't even light up he might be in qhsusb bulkmode or something. Ask him to let you play around with it, if it goes in download mode and pc recognises it you should get it. If he didn't drop it in the toilet of course.
If the phone wont do a Factory Reset, Vol - and power then at the LG logo let go of power then hold again. I would stay away.
My LG G2 was totally dead that I couldnt get it to boot, download mode, factory reset, or even show the battery charging screen when it was off.
Good thing I was under warranty.

It started to process the update, rebooting and stuck. All I could get it to do was show the LG logo if I power cycled it or plugged it in the usb or charger. 2finger factory reset would show the screen but never start.

alright mate im gonna say that
Hi all,
I have a Nexus 6P that behaved very strangely just today. The battery went down to about 23% and I plugged it in to charge (factory charger) and left for work. However, I came back and the phone now appears to be completely dead, no matter what I try. I've tried to reset the device by holding the power button, trying to boot into various modes such as bootloader or recovery, but the device just does not seem to want to start and the screen remains black. I've plugged it into the computer and it still continues to show no signs of life. What could be happening? Is there a possible fix at all or is it now just a brick?
The device was last booting PureNexus, Android 7.1.2 with the stock kernel and an outdated version of Magisk. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Hmm ... A question helping to investigate the problem might be the following ... Battery went down from 23% to 0% faster than usual? I am not sure but ... 8 hours are not usual for 23% while Doze is active ... Not sure tho ... Just wanted to help the investigation.
Good luck with your phone, it's a value-for-money beast!

Well, I'm not sure if the battery went down to 0%, since I plugged it into the charger when it was at ~23%.
It's still currently showing no signs of life.
You can try going to recovery mode or bootloader mode while charging ... Actually try the following:
1. Press VolumeUp+PowerOn button and hold them.
2. Connect the charger.
3. Pray and keep the buttons pressed for 30 seconds
Generally play with some combinations of the example above. It helped a friend once with the same problem on a Samsung J5 phone, it might help you. Not sure why and how tho, let's call it glitch.

I've tried all of these, but unfortunately none of worked and the Nexus 6P is still dead
Next step requires some tools, search for them right now!!
1. Open the shelter ( )
2. Remove gendly the battery because it is glued.
3. (Optional and I am unsure about that) Freeze the battery for 2-5 minutes to ressurect it (li-ion battery)
4. Place back the battery, pray and retry everything mentioned above
Good luck

If you have warranty RMA it, if take apart could void warranty. Not to mention if you try your self, I would buy new battery. Make sure its OEM and is gd quality, with temp sensor.

I'm a bit confused as to who I would go to; I bought this device refurbished from Best Buy, but they told me there would still be warranty on this, and I believe it's been less than a year since owning this device. Would I go to Google or would I go to Huawei...or Best Buy? Thanks!

Go back to where you bought it from, or at least call Best buy and ask them, if it's their warrantee then they should take care of getting it from Huawei for you
