Hey, I completely wiped my GS4, with TWRP. The ROM i was using randomly shut down my phone and when I went in to TWRP my internal SD appeared to be wiped clean.
Anyway, Im trying to get my backup on the phone but my computer is not recognizing the phone, i installed the offical drivers but device manager still has an exclamation mark next to SAMSUNG_Android.
Any help guys? :/

i THINK i know what i did wrong:
i flashed firmware that i found from another site (not filefactory) with mobile odin. i had done a few backups, but did a fresh one anyway from cwm, and moved it to the "external" sd card. i unchecked everroot--i dunno why, i was going to root with the zip file... this may have been my mistake. but i also checked, "factory reset/wipe data/wipe cache etc" from within odin. THIS may have been my mistake... well, when it rebooted, mobile odin went to it, said everything went fine, then rebooted. now i'm stuck on the gTab start-up screen. it doesn't load the boot animation even. i can get into download mode, and i can get into recovery. tried flashing a rom and a kernel on top of whatever is on the device. that didn't work. mobile odin DID take away root. so i rerooted it thinking that cwm may require root to work.
the problem from within cwm is that it isn't seeing the "internal" sd card, or it thinks the external is the internal... that's how i was able to root again, by applying zip from sd card. it worked. so it IS still seeing internal storage.
this may have already been fixed had i not LOST the USB cable.... another one is on order and en route. i can see no solutions with it as is, i'm going to need desktop odin to reflash...
so the problem as i see it: i can't just restore because i erased the "internal" sd card. i moved my cwm folder to the "external" so even though it's on there, and cwm is reading my "external" as "internal" it's still unable to access the cwm folder with my backups available.
so the solution still requires the usb cable, even if i were to just move the cwm folder BACK to the internal card once i get it plugged in. in the mean time i'm dead in the water...
thanks for any help!!!
My Nexus 4 is not recognized by any PC anymore... Tried 10 different cables and 5 different computers.
It is charging while connected to a PC, just no ADB/USB storage.
Anyway, I flashed Lollipop factory through CWM and everything was fine, but still the same with the USB.
I flashed TWRP recovery and flashed Lollipop from there, again, all good except the USB not being recognized.
I chose "Fix permissions" in TWRP -> reboot took forever -> Reflashed Lollipop -> Device booted fine -> NO Internal Memory anymore.
Used multiple file explorers - the sd card folder is empty. Tried browsing through mounted/0, legacy, sdcard, mnt/sdcard, etc... nothing.
If I use the File Browser on TWRP, I can see all my files so nothing is deleted.
I assume the SD Card's permissions are screwed or it's not mounted...
Status:
* I can't download any other ROMs (as now my Internal memory is basically not recognized by Android).
* I can't move files to the SD card from my PC as my USB port is probably broken
* I have a running Lollipop system with the latest bootloader, radio and a TWRP recovery so I can use its terminal for some commands.
Is it safe to say my device is dead or someone have any idea how to at least fix the SD Card mount issue?
Thanks!

try doing a factory data reset using settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset.

I'll try. Is it any different than wipe using the recovery?

As per my understanding, factory data reset does all the wipe in one touch instead of doing one by one

I did full wipe, including dalvik. Anyway, I'll try it and update ASAP.
Thanks
Didn't help. My device is now stuck in boot loop and now I don't have a ROM to flash as the full wipe clears the SD card.
Just a quick check to eliminate drivers issue may help...Connect the phone to your PC with the usb cable, then go to Device Manager on the PC and see if your phone shows up. If it does with a yellow exclamation mark, you need to install/reinstall the usb driver.
Same problem here
I know this is an old question but I have the same problem as liorry does. I currently installed a new ROM on my N4 (SimpleAOSP), after a lot of tweaking it ended up working but now I cannot access the /sdcard folder via any app or via windows. If I go to recovery I can still see the folder is there and has all the data I had before. Does anyone have any idea on what can I do?, I think I can roll back to my previus kitkat based ROM but have not tried yet because I dont want to screw up the phone.
Suggestions are appreciated!
My international Glalaxy Note 3 just started boot looping. When I turned it on first thing today. Yesterday it was functioning fine.
I removed the battery for 30 seconds still nothing. I booted into recovery, (TWRP) and wiped cache still nothing. So I backed up my phone to an External SDCard, and wiped data still nothing.
So I erased the whole device except recovery, and restored from the backup to try, and retrieve some essential files. Before reinstalling a fresh. The issue is when I go to the internal sdcard on storage it shows as empty with only a TWRP visible. I did get a notification that supersu was not installed. When rebooting the phone after wiping it. But I selected for twrp to install it so it should be there.
I have also tried to recover the data via looking at the backup on my computer but the backup is in a non human readable format.
Any idea how to get the data I need out of the phone or from the backup before I reinstall the OS?
What twrp you are using? Try reflash the twrp recovery to see if the twrp backup still there? Before you wipe did u wipe internal storage too?

You said you wiped evrything.. So it includes Internal storage too right! And TWRP automatically creates the folder evrytime you boot into it.. If want the data from your External storage, try taking the card out and copy it or use MTP with TWRP. Then flash your fresh Rom.

So, I can't access the internal storage on my phone through a pc after flashing AOKP and their custom recovery, from AICP and TWRP. Just keeps insisting my phone is empty, tried using the phones browser to download opengapps (what I was about to put on my internal storage to flash). No luck there and I can't give permission for the browser to use storage as it crashes when I try... To reach this point I came from AICP using TWRP and flashed the new (AOKP) recovery using chainfire's flashfire, then I messed up booting the new recovery and installing the new rom over the old one instead of wiping the system first causing the phone's applications like UI to crash and unusable. So I then went back to the recovery and wiped the system, downloaded the rom to my pc and tried and failed to copy it over (internal storage isn't there). Using minimal adb and fastboot (which wasn't working properly with my phone; adb could detect the device but then trying to deliver any fastboot commands it just says 'waiting for device' with no device being detected while in fastboot mode or recovery, I managed to sideload the rom and launched it up and now although the phone's stable and not crashing the internal storage still isn't showing up and this is when I found out trying to give storage permission crashes the app I'm giving permission to. Can anyone shed some light onto how to fix this? Been here before after a new flash but cannot remember for the life of me how I fixed it and even then it took hours of messing around. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, all states the phone can be in (bootoader, recovery, system) and uninstalling the drivers rebooting the pc and phone and reinstalling the device. All to no avail... Scratch that, factory reset and wiped the cache again and the storage has miraculously reappeared sorry for taking up space haha
Hi Guys,
It's all in the title really, I have tried rolling back from the latest MIUI stable rom 20.1.9_v11-10 to my previously run V11.0.2.0 , this got my phone (mi9t) stuck in a bootloop. After going into recovery mode, I have realized the internal storage folders are all messed up, with the folders names showing in an odd combination of number and letters (Something like: 9KJJGDKJ).
The phone still mounts via USB to the laptop, by I'm unable to transfer any files to the internal storage. And as such, I'm currently unable to flash it with a ROM.
I'd appreciate any advice on this, hopefully one that would also help me salvage the files and data I have on my internal storage.

For backup have you tried running adb command "adb pull /sdcard _(here specify any location in your pc such as C:\x\) from CMD when in TWRP? And for flashing ROM you can use "adb push (ROM zip location and destination such as C:\x\anyrom.zip /sdcard/)" and flash ROM .zip from your sdcard root in TWRP AFTER factory reset and wipe system from TWRP. Remember factory reset will erase your internal storage. Hope it helps. Good luck.

Well, it looks like you phone is encrypted and the only way is to format data, and did you format data before doing the downgrade?
Do you have TWRP?
You need to format data, internal memory encrypted.
Boot to TWRP
Format DATA
Reboot to TWRP
Transfer xiaomi.eu rom and flash
Reboot

I would try another recovery, sounds like something is corrupt with the twrp version. Have you tried Orangefox?
I had the same problem. Only thing that works is formatting data. A different twrp wont work. I tried 3 different versions all the same.
Thanks guys, already formatted my sd card yesterday and then I was able to re-flash the Android Q update.
My data is lost tho. Thank you all for your input here.
