Hey guys,
I recieved my 2012 Nexus 7 yesterday (used, super cheap, awesome device for 130 bucks!) and the owner before me had 4.1.1 on there (whyever ) I flashed stock 4.3 and installed franco kernel and root, now I miss my CRT-off-Animation.
I already tried this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30255880&postcount=1
but I get this error:

Is there any other way of enabling CRT off? For example flashable Zip, I have TWRP on there and I'm rooted as I said so that shouldn't be a problem but I can't find a flashable .zip anywhere.
I appreciate your time, thanks in advance!
Greetings from germany.

Sorry if this is not answering your question, but I think it's something to do with the kernel android 4.3 uses. I believe CRT off animation is currently only compatible with 4.1.2 and below, correct me if I'm wrong though. I'm still pretty new to the XDA scene.
We could always wait for an update on the CRT off animation so it's compatible with android 4.3. I want it on my 4.3 S3 as well.

Point if view 10"-1. This is the name of tablet my friend got yesterday.Unfortunately it looks like something is wrong with it. Like it is not that type of tablet running 1GHz processor.Too slow, slow response on commands. Is there a solution to reinstall software on it, some tutorial or similar? Ill try to get additional info about this tablet installing system info.

Hi There.
Just re-install the stock rom from here: www.pointofview-online.com/default2.php?content_id=36
You can also use the advent vega stock rom from here: www.myadventvega.co.uk/
Good luck.
Just to say I managed only to re-install original firmware. I DL it here http://downloads.pointofview-online.com/Drivers/ . Officialy this is SEC SOC Test board and it is NOT recognised by any of recognised drivers or update softwares. It is easy rooted device with Z4root but it can't be put in recovery mode as It should be. Simply it is not recognised as Nvidia or similar tablet (drivers, too,although they installed correctly) just SEC SOC drivers. Special burning tool is used to burn firmware and OS on it.
If someone knows exact procedure for upgrading it with different ROM i'm here
It use IMG extensions for it's needed software which is delivered by DL package.
Regards,
Hey everyone, just wanted to share a Jetstream theme that I have adapted to work on Thor's Galaxy Rom. I was orginally created by bOOsted over on the Galaxy 10.1 forum(Thanks for the Great themes bOOsted). Flashed the attached file in recovery and reboot. I'm sure you are asking why Thor's galaxy, well because it is a freaking good, stable rom.

I cannot post link here but same website where you got his 14.2. Also highest kernel of his that you can go up to is v1.5-1.6. Can find 1.6 where you click on the 1.5 link. Using those combinations was a smooth rom for myself.

if you updated your Chrome over Market, it will not work. New version is working only on ICS Supported devices. but we can lie Google and use it with change build.prop. this solution is until someone hack google chrome app to get working on custom roms
change these lines on /system/build.prop and push it to system. but backup first!
ro.build.id=ICL53F
ro.build.display.id=IML74K
ro.build.version.release=4.0.2

ro.build.host=vpbs3.mtv.corp.google.com
Enjoy! press thanks if it helped
Attention: after this hack, may your home button not work. Maybe search button too

This is something that I've been messing with for the last few days. I've never tried modding stuff before now, but hopefully this will pass for a decent one.
It isn't the final that I am hoping for, but so far so good. I have just ran short on ideas. And I am game for just about any suggestions.
If anyone would like to try this just flash the zip in CWM. It modifies images in 2 files, all located in system/apps. They are... Acer Ring.apk, as well as systemui.apk
It has only been tested on my tablet which is running Civato's Flexreaper R1 with the v4 bootloader. I Can't say anything for compatability with other roms. I would guess that it will be fine tho.
My request to those that install this would be to please share any ideas for some of the other system icons (specifically those visible on the home screen.). Icons like the wifi (needs to be something that has levels for power indication.), the microphone up near the search bar and the app drawer launcher icon.
Screenies...

I will add to this as time permits. I'd love to do something with the lock screen, just need to figure out where that sucker's hiding...
Also, if you do something goofy and bork your tablet, as usual, it's all on you...
Enjoy!
p.s. Thanks to Civato for the great rom, and unknowingly giving me a little nudge in the right direction. Plus I used his MOD installer zip and FlexReaper rom as the base for this.

Hello all. As you can see, I've successfully booted openSUSE on the A500. In the coming days, I"ll be updating it, and release a root file system. The rootfs will not have xfce4 installed.
What works:
WiFi
Booting
Audio
YouTube (HTML5)
Chromium (Hexxeh's armhf build)
What doesn't:
Probably everything else. I really haven't tested anything.
Xfce4 is fairly smooth.
Thanks for all the work you do. It's cool that now we are seeing RPM based linux distros running on this tablet!
ca we please get some video or screenshots.
thanks.
