[Q] P3110 Auto Brightness & CWM Binary Counter - Galaxy Tab 2 General

Hi all...
I'm using P3110 - JB v4.2.2(stock GB) - PhilTouchRecovery.v5.08.5 - Rooted
with couple questions:
1. If I set brightness adjustment to "auto", display just too DIM. How to fix it?
2. When I enter Recovery mode (Phil's), even only for make CWM Backup; binary counter will be added. Yes, it can be easily fixed by Triangle Away, but is that normal?
Thank you.

Yes it is, I still have su in my files and in my apps list, i also used root checker.
Why do you post this in 2 subforums?
Did you managed to get it unrooted?
if you can't get it unrooted through apps, one sure way is to flash a non-rooted stock rom... of course the big question is... why are you trying to unroot?
Hi AZDR1V3R,
I had the same problem, which is now solved.
Try the following sequence (worked for me; I have an Iconia with HC3.1 Stock ROM A500_4.017.07_EMEA_CUS7):
0) Switch off your device completely and switch it on again (fresh restart)
1) Rotate your tab in the protrait display orientation
2) Switch on the fix switch for the orientation
3) Root your device using Iconia Root (wait until the 5s delay has been finished and the success message has been displayed)
4) Unroot your device using Iconia Root; now the message of a successful unroot appears after the 5s delay.
The essential difference to my previous unsuccessful attemps to unroot is the usage of the orientation lock switch.
Regards
Luis

Unfortunately these steps don't work for me. Anyone else with a sublime solution?
You have to activate Application --> Decomment --> USB debugging
If all else fails, when you get your next Honeycomb update it will do away with root for you, with no way to get it back, at least for now. Patience.

[Q] Auto Screen Rotation went dead

Hello all,
My Iconia A500's auto screen rotation just suddenly went dead on me. Flipping the lock toggle near the volume buttons on and off doesn't do anything.
I've tried resetting the device via the reset button, factory reset it via the settings menu as well as the recovery menu (oh yeah, it's rooted, currently using thor's CW recovery v.1.5). I've also tried installing another ROM, deleting the cache partition and dalvik cache, fix permission, all to no avail.
I don't think its faulty gyro since I can still play NFS just fine. Its just refusing to auto rotate the screen.
Any of you guys ever experience this? Or maybe have any ideas I can try out ?
Thanks in advance!
hello, are you using thor ROM?

I did, just to see if it can fix the issue (the auto rotation went dead while i used a rooted stock rom). why?
Oh, I'm aware that Thor's newest ROM doesnt support the hardware autorotation toggle. I've tried the software toggle without any effect.

Samsung removes binary count on Latest Firmware 4.2.2 XXUBNB2

Hi,
Latest official firmare XXUBNB2.
* Samsung removes binary count on download screen
* Alarm App was nice
* Allshare play removed
* Better Ram management
* better WIFI and Network
- becomes very slow after 2 days usage (need to restart)
- sharp battery charge reduce
??? Boot loader need to check.
Dont update if you want to use custom firmwares (4.4.2)
* First you can notice 3 times flickering on installed CWM recovery
* After installation you can notice a heavy lag when you open settings or open some Apps.
* Selecting options in settings may lead to freeze your phone (often)
* Install software (also via ADB) is painful.
want to use custom firmware again
* you need to go back to old official firmware or leaked firmware (re - partition recommended)

Have you updated it OTA?? I guess samsung have stopped the rolling of this update in India in very few days after release.
Even XXUBMK3 has no binary count.

Try with this method:
Go to recovery by holding volume up+home button+power and after this select wipe data and cache... MAYBE THIS METHOD WILL HELP YOU...
If anything not work go to a SAMSUNG service and say your problem...
Backup the stuff you want to keep and try a factory reset.
I already try both several times. When I go on recovery mode it's same extra bright....

When I flash 5.0 officail stock via Odin, again same issue with rotation. BAck to CM12.1 all good. Now I tried Phronesis Rom v2.0 N5 port, and same issue with rotation. I will pay for rotation fix. If you need some more info from me, logs etc let me know. Ty in advance.

1. Backup all your internal data.
2. Flash via ODIN, TWRP being in one custom rom.
3. Boot in TWRP - Wipe - Advanced wipe - Select all (less USB-OTG and External Card) - Wipe.
4. Reboot in Download Mode (It will ask you that you don't have operative system if are you sure - CLICK yes, and if you need SUPERSU, click no).
5. Download the latest firmware for your device to your pc: HERE.
6. Flash it via ODIN like in the pic attached.
7. Let the process finish till you see PASS in green.

Already done that and even tried with deleting internal data. Im sure that this have some issue with sensors or libgnustl_shared.so which I replaced with permissions rw-r-r
BTW when I installed accelerometer app now, its show wrong info. I guess accelerometer sensor or some accelerometer filr is wrong for rotation. Idk how all good is on CM12.1 Nightly Official, and on stock or any other custom rom doesnt work.

thank you on your time and help but nothing
I too had problems with rotation. This file did it for me. You can try it, you have nothing to lose.

I see you don't have the n9005, so maybe don't try it.
