Hello,
since i've backuped my CM 10.1, flashed MIUI and restored CM, the gapps are crashing instantly.
I dont know why. All ones are crashing (com.google.gapps, Gmail, Picasa Uploader, etc.)
I already reinstalled CM, the same.
I installed it this way:
1) Wipe user data
2) Wipe cache
3) Wipe dalvik cache
4) Format /cache
5) Format /data
6) Format /system
7) Install CM 10.1 ZIP
7b) Flash v20 Baseband
8) Reboot (CM works)
9) Reboot Recovery
10) Install GAPPS 4.2.2 ZIP
11) Reboot
12) All GAPPS are crashing
Why?
Something wrong?
Please help, i really need my LGE610!!!!

Well, I didn't flash baseband at all, cause I was already on 20d.
I wiped everything, installed gapps after reboot and also tried to install them right after flashing cm10.1 zip, but gapps are crashing.
Redownloading the rom and gapps didn't help..
@PecanCM I did a logcat and all gapps crashes have the same cause:

Yes, I'm completely sure I have a correct gapps.
For now I came back to cm10, the only stable version for me.

This happened on Vivo 3 and New experience rom. (My guess it's due to Bieltv specific kernel) . I have two Gmail accounts. I synced one properly. I'm on cm7. I can't change kernel to stock now i was on percy cm7 base. Flashed bieltv kernel and then Flashed new experience (bieltv rc4 base) . Going to stock doesn't help
The 492 error on Play Store is a bug of the kernel.
To fix it, flash the kernel first before flashing the ROM, not the other way round.
it has nothing to do with Bieltv kernel - I use his rom and kernel and I have bout 8 different accounts all loaded into gmail at the same time
you can follow my instructions in the cm7 thread for correct install of the rom to avoid the data partition not being mountable which will stop you installing anything
492 error can normally be solved with the following (as long as you can mount data partition in cwm)
wipe cash
wipe dalvik cash
with root browser delete .android_secure

I recently installed jb experience v10.1. I was on vivo 3.2 before it
I had many problems after that
Play store error 492
Facebook messenger apk gives "error parsing package" I tried many versions
And instagram says " your phone isn't compatible "
I wiped cache and data and dalvik million times, changes the rom to cmx and to vivo again, no thing
I did format data, system, cache, million times.
Help please

can you mount data in cwm if yes goto next step - if no flash stock rom via odin and do the install process all over again
if data can be mounted to fix 492 error do the following
open phone settings
goto applications
manage applications
select all tab
in the following apps clear data and cahe
google play services
google play store
google services framework
delete .android_secure from the root of your sd card (requires a browser that can show hidden files - the folder name starts with a dot)
go into cwm
format cache and delvik cache
mount system
flash the correct gapps
if all else fails flash stock rom via odin and start the install process again
for "error parsing package" it means one of two things
1 - the apk is for an android version higher than the one installed
2 - the apk is for armv7 only
I was trying to flash GApps (Paranoid Android GApps) Google Stock Package, but got 'insufficient storage space in \system partition' instead. I tried formatting, wiping the system partition, and some other stuff. Could someone tell me how to fix this? I did a complete return to stock and tried flashing from there, but the error still came. The ROM that I'm installing this with is Euphoria-OS 1.0. I know it is possible because I was using this setup earlier, before I managed to break it. How do I install the GApps package without compromising and using a smaller package instead (maybe wipe/format \system partition in some particular order?). Using a Nexus 4, 16GB variant.
Dont install full GAPPS. Install mini or mudular GAPPS. Then install whatever you need from playstore like calendar, maps, google+, TTS, GMAIL, etc

I guess that would work, but that's not really 'solving' the problem, more like brushing it under the carpet.

Have you used something like Titanium Backup to go in and remove the apps installed on /system you do not need? (additional language keyboards etc.)? I have not run into this on the N4, but have on other phones (try getting 4.4.4 KitKat on the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, I did ) , I would go in, remove the unneeded apps to free up space, and then reflash Gapps again.
I'm running into the same problem with my Nexus 5.
Even choosing the "mini" GApps there is not enough space to install.
This is really weird.
Would say this is a general problem with LineageOS
I only use Pico open gapps for all the roms I use and have tried so far that way you never have to worry about the insufficient storage space error
I've been fighting with this error and finally solved it... the system partition was not getting mounted.
It was expected to be here: /dev/block/platform/soc.0/by-name/system
.. but looking at the filesystem we see: /dev/block/platform/soc.0/{random}.sdhci/by-name
To resolve:
adb shell
cd /dev/block/platform/soc.0/
ln -s {random}.sdhci/by-name ./
cheers

For a few weeks i've seen the Omnriom 6.0.1 in the update dialogue. I am running the last version of 5.1.1 (20160108-NIGHTLY) on my hammerhead device.
Can I just uprade using OpenDelta as I would from a 5.x to a 5.x.x? Or do I have to wipe my device entirely first?
Thanks for your answers.

You SHOULD be able to seamlessly upgrade unless we screwed up.
So make a backup first!!!
If things misbehave, try wiping.
Ok, to be honest that's what I did the first day it showed up. Phone way extremely buggy then (understandable). How is it today? Do you use it on your everyday device or just on a testing unit?
So I tried it via OpenDelta and after the upgrade "com.android.phone" crashes over and over. Same thing if I wipe the phone first. Went back to 5.1.1.
I opened an issue http://jira.omnirom.org/browse/OMNI-1272

You need to flash a 6.0 gapps. Backuptool should not preserve any addons (such as gapps) across version upgrades for this reason.

Will try full wipe + flash then
I had to reflash the backupt from 5.x. Then I wiped instead of format and flashed Omni 6. Now it works.
I couldn't format, update TWRP, install Omni and SuperSU because when I tried to encrypt the phone it would never boot.

Can someone confirm that Omnirom includes the patch which is referred to on that page: https://github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Notes-for-Android-6.0

No, it does not include that patch. If you can get into settings, you can allow the necessary permissions manually (ie all of them). A full data wipe should work as well...

I've always been a bit nervous about that patch.
CM does not include it either, they do however include two patches that are in AOSP master but not any release branches:

Many users reported booting. You have to unmount system.
Do not flash gapps. It's not compatible with miui 8.
1) Open mi app store.
2) search for "Google"
3) open and install "blue panda(du) foot print logo app" ("I can't read Chinese")
4) Click on install
5) Open the app
6) Click on blue button
7) Install all prompted apps manually ( select install unknown source in security settings)
8) after everything installed you see yellow button just open it and login your Google account
9) Enjoy.
10) Like this post if it helped you to install gapps and reduce force closes.
