Big problem caused by an app (urgent) - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I have an LG E400 rooted phone, with 2.3 android, the screen is locked with a password.
I also use the FontChanger application which has a screen density option. The default value is 120 but it was accidentally changed to 140 - so the screen is enlarged now.
The problem: I can't type in my password to unlock the screen because I'm missing two buttons, the Enter button included.
Here's a photo:

Please help me!
thanks

The only way to get this back to your normal density is to delete your data/cache in cwm (if installed)
Shutdown phone
Press volume down and home button and power button together
This will restore your phone and will automatically restart (all apps and settings will be removed!)
If u get in a
Clockworkmod recovery by pressing these buttons u have to format data/cache and than reboot!
After that u can use your phone normaly

[Q] Gingerbread Recovery mode "@"key does not work

Hi all,
I succesfully updated my Droid Pro to Gingerbread and rooted it. Then played around with it, and now the launcher (home) crashes (dont ask). So I am basically caught in a loop. Cant undo the damage, coz whenever I click force close, the phone tries to relaunch the home screen and --- bam -- crashes.
So I decided to wipe.
I pulled the battery. Powered up, while pressing power + r + m. Sure enough, I boot up in recovery mode. Triangle and little droid. And then --- I am stuck. This is where you are supposed to press "@" and then you get the recovery menu. But the phone does not respond to the @ key. It does not respond to ANY key.
Now what?
Help would be appreciated.

Press both volume keys at the same time..;D
Thanks a bundle.
Edit: and thanks again. Got everything up and running smoothly.
By the by, for those who wish to learn from my mishap: I am in the Netherlands and decided, just for fun, to see if the phone would support the locale nl-NL (Netherlands - Dutch). So, I downloaded more locale2, added a custom locale and ---- the home screen crashed.
So guys, if you want to add your own locale, make a backup first.

the 4 button working abnormally

Today, i didn't remember what did i do in CWM 5.0.27 on my Atrix, after reboot it, the MOTO log gone and show all commands in screen(eg. fastboot, android recovery ...),
but my phone pass through it and into the OS. However, when i click 4 button in the bottom of device, all of them working abnormally, the phone not open the Configuration, Home, Back & Search by desgin, seem they points to the bottom of screen.
For example, if there is OK button show in right bottom of screen, when i click Search button, phone won't pop up Search web page, it will click this OK button.
Who can help me to fix this problem? It is very urgent & critical for me, in fact, my phone is not can be used for me, . Thank you so much.
I'm not sure to clearly undersdand well the problem !!!
But before the OS is mounted, the 4 buttons are not activated.
So in CWM, you should use only the vol + / - and Power button.
Vol + / - for selection
Power button for "enter"
Edit : My reply is totally un-usefull !!! Sorry, I can't help...
you probably formatted the pds partition in CWM. This has info about your touch screen, wifi etc...follow this link to flash the pds image and have your 4 buttons work again.

Can't turn off my HD2 !

Hi,
I have just installed tytung ICS ROM v1.5 for my HD2. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860 )
This is the first time i flashed my phone.
Everything work properly but i have a strange/annoying problem : i can't turn off my phone !
When i press power button a few seconds, a screen who asks me if i want to put phone on plane mode, or change phone mode ( mute, vibrator, ect...) appears. But i can't power off, if i press one more time the power button when i'm on this screen, the phone freeze during many seconds and says that no sim card are found. And just after i have to re-enter my sim-code to unlock the phone.
Like if he reboot.
I don't undertsand, can anyone help me ?
Thanks in advance !
PS: sorry for my bad english.
EDIT: i search on network how the power menu will be displayed.
I found this: http://i.imgur.com/Gz1HH.png
But, on my case, i've just "Airplane Mode" and the 3 sounds icons.
PowerOff, Reboot and Screenshot are not displayed on my menu, why ?
EDIT 2: I found my problem, in general settings i actived "show power off menu" and now it work
Sorry for inconvenience.
I am glad the OP was able to fix the problem. But for anyone that this does not fix your problem, I suggest you go and grab the app Quick Boot from Google Play. You have to be rooted to use it but it gives you all the following options.
Power down
Reboot into Recovery
Restart
Edit: You also have to be using clk as the custom bootloader for Android for the Reboot to Recovery option to work.

Recovery assitance - Power Button broke

Hello and thanks for looking to help
1) I have a HD2 that has a broken power button
2) I have forgotten my password to android
3) I can't get it to restart in CWM for some reason
Have tried the following
1) Reboot using reset button and holding vol up, no good
Additional info:
1) Phone does not display Magldr screen splash - goes straight to a Tmobile Splash followed by HTC and then the bootup animation
Is there any way I can get back into recovery , or push a zip file to get rid of the password to let me access the phone? I'm ultra stuck here and I dont recall if I have backed up the rom either
I appreciate all the help I can get and thank you again for your time. :good::good:

If the phone does not show any magldr screen on startup, surely it is using clk, so holding the home key should enter recovery.
What rom is installed? What install method (nand-only, nativesd, data-on-ext)

Android rom, i forgot which one it is , its been forever. cant even verify since its password locked - install method is nand-only.
Ok I got it to boot to CWM but now i cant select any items . fail! - once its in CWM does this activate ADB? If i can push commands / files to the filesystem i can somehow remove the password protection which can get me back into android . is this possible?
Problem is now - what buttons can I use to select items in CWM?? i cant use the power button to select anything!
Additional Info:
CLK 1.5.0
CWM - 5.0.2.6
Fixed - used debug mode in android to do a reset of the password granting me access to the phone.
well done, just checking if you have read gilbert32's excellent thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398464

Hello,
I've a similar problem.
I've my rooted 10.25'' android screen in my Audi and so with an app like "EasyReboot" I can reboot in recovery mode.
But when I'm within the recovery mode I can't select any line to for example make a backup on SD.
I tried to connect an usb keyboard but It isn't recognized (It's well recognized when the HU running).
I've just remark that when I touch the screen with 2 fingers, the first line is selected (Reboot now).
So maybe a finger touch combinaison ?

For me i cant download any app , basically i cant use the system, the error popped up and never goes away, i want to clean the cache partition but i dont know how to enter recovery mode in order to do it.
For me I would just use the shift & arrow keys to select the line I wanted.
The arrow keys in my keyboard didn’t work without the shift key.
Also the keyboard didn’t work until I pressed the pinhole reset button

someone got how to enter factory reset ??
I have (almost) exactly the same problem like steck31: I get into ecovery mode, but there I cannot do anything, except make the first line green. on my device, it's not by two fingers anywhere, but by one finger in the upper right corner.
Any solution?
For people struggling getting into recovery mode at all:
Connect a PC and the HU into same network (WiFi on the hu), then install adb (many instructions for that on the net), and type:
adb connect 192.xxx.xx.xx (IP of HU)
adb reboot recovery
Ok, I have a solution for what I wanted to do in the recovery mode: Erase the device.
This can be done like described here:
while releasing the reset button, keep tapping with FIVE fingers on the screen, then the device gets into "erasing".
