Well honestly speaking.....according to the screen shot.....your battery life is pretty good....i mean its run over 18hrs with 50%....thats really good
Anyway if you want more battery life...try these out
1. All your radios ( Wifi, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth, etc) are huge battery killers....use them only if you need to....i know mobile data and wifi are always needed.....so i suggest you use wifi over mobile data....the usual battery consumption is higher on 3G and 4G rather than wifi.
2. All the smart settings (smart pause, stay, scroll, and rotate) cause battery drainage too....so if you want to consume every last drop...i suggest to keep only the necessary ones on.
3. Same can be said about air gestures and air view.....the related sensors are always on....they are constantly monitoring whether you are going to use the motions....so keep only the essentials on.
4. Dont keep all your apps opened.....long press the home key and swipe away all the unnecessary opened apps....because this can prolong battery life as well.
5. There are little things like haptic feedback....keyboard vibrations and sounds....lock screen and dial pad sounds as well as others i may not have mentioned....these individually don't amount to a huge battery drain...but when all of these little elements are combined....they could waste a considerable amount of battery.
6. Even screen brightness tends to drain the battery...i suggest auto brightness or ...you need to keep sliding the brightness bar to reduce the excessive back-light. Also auto rotation is another one of those tiny battery killers.
7. Auto syncing data all the time leads to a huge battery drain....so i suggest you switch it off when not in use....you could save a bit more juice.
8. Use power saving mode to get even better battery life....it reduces the CPU level and slightly dims the screen.....and of course offs haptic feedback....these can be useful....especially if the CPU is running at a lower level...its battery consumption is less.
9.Dont drain your battery to 0%....i suggest you to to start charging at about 15-20%.....over discharging the battery can be harmful to your battery life...also dont over charge the battery for too long. The thing is...with these new Li-ion batteries....they installed a circuit that prevents the battery from over charging...but we should also not do it just cause we can right? If its charged to a 100% take it off the charger.
10. Well if you are still not happy with your battery life....check the XDA forums...they have really good tutorials regarding this.....also i suggest using 3rd party applications such as juice defender to aid you to get better battery life.....
Well as i did mention earlier.....you already have have pretty decent battery life....but one must try to get the maximum right? So yeah....hope this helped you...hope it gave you some idea as to what you are dealing with....good luck

With the same usage your battery life will last for about 36-37 hours. That's 1 day and 14 more hours. Sound pretty good to me.

Your battery life seems just fine to me. And if you do the calculation 1.5h = 10% it means that your battery would last more than 10h with that usage, so getting about 4h of screen time (thats average for me) is definitely possible

While you may not have done anything major....and you may have followed my steps....but it could also be the apps you use.....they maybe working in the background hogging your battery life....honestly it all comes down to the way each person uses his phone.....plus anyway your battery life seems to be pretty good anyway.....

no more than 2 days for me

I think your battery life is great! Mine is about 20-26 hours with 3-4 Hours screen time with heavy use. I am on Arrow Rom with Stock kernel. I think is very good too.

Screen utilization 33%
Time on 4 hours and 15 mins
Battery 10%
Total phone time 21 hours 37 mins
Is it normal??

Galaxy Note 2 LTE N7105 - Battery Life

Started this thread because I have scoured the web and am yet to see any real battery tests of this device! And I think that people - me included - will jump at getting this if they just knew a bit more about battery life specifically on screen time and what you have on - eg BT, sync, GPS. The 4G S3 was pretty poor for battery so it would be good to know what effect it has on the N7105 considering that the N7100 has phenomenal battery life.
Ok so the people on other threads that keep saying they have had this device for weeks please post your battery stats because I want an excuse to get this beast!
Great!

It it excelent, I have been using the N7105 on Vodafone Portugal with lte connectivity, but on thing you will have to watch out for is SYNC and automatic uploads while the phone is on standy during night! Instead of the screen being the top battery consumer, I get Android OS on the top, but i have changed it already

I killed the battery in 4.5 hours once. I shot photos and 1080p vidoes the entire time with the screen at full brightness. Battery charges in an external charger in 2.5 hours, and charges in 8.5 hours on a USB cable on my computer. The longest I've gone is a day and a half, and that's with me turning my phone on and off every 5 minutes to check on something. I'm sure it can do longer if I gave it a chance. I just can't put the phone down.
I'm using a CDMA/LTE model (a Korean model) in Korea that consumes a bit less battery than the HSDPA/LTE models.

I am using the LTE Note 2 and I have not tried draining my battery from leaving the screen on. In idle mode, I lose about 2% battery per hour.
The first 2 nights when I received my phone, the battery would drain really quickly. I leave it fully charged before I sleep and when I wake up some 7 hours later, it was totally flat and can't turn on.
After I rooted my phone and removed the telco apps which they preloaded into the phone and did some power optimizations, it seemed to fix the problem. I'm not sure if those were the cause of the problem or if the new battery just needs some time to recalibrate itself or if the phone just needs some time to "settle" down, but I'm glad the battery last significantly longer nowadays. Today I spent about 10 hours at work and used my phone moderately with 4g on all the time and managed to lose 13% power only.
I have both note2 lte and iphone 5
I am amazed by the battery life of note2
I did the test with iphone 5, 90 mins video streaming, 60 mins web browing and whatsapp, 30mins viewing offline comic. 3 hours it cooked.
For the same task I did on note 2 lte.
After 3 hours , it still has 60% juice :good:
I used my note 2 Lte from 100 % to 10% and I just get 4.50hours of screen . Soft Use with 3g OFF and wireless on just when needed . a lot of Sms and 3 or 4 short calls.
Is it normal ? I am afraid of having a faulty device.

You got 35hrs from a charge including nearly 5hrs of screen time.
Pretty good.
Lasted mi 6 hours exploring the phone and downloading stuffs with screen set to auto mode. Trying out the battery saving mode currently
5hrs awake constant use time with 350 mb wifi download and still has 60% battery left. ..
Did the 8 hrs initial full charge. .
Those who have bad battery stats probably did not charge the phone for initial 8 to 10 hrs . It Makes battery calibrated early... Don't worry. . It needs some more charge cycles for you guys

I would say these things happen, atleast to me also. Best bet is to look at longer time intervals and average the battery usage. Install Better Battery Stats and it can help give you a general idea of what is causing battery drain.
I've had the phone go 10 hours in overnight and not budge from 100% and show a similar drop to what you''ve had on light use after.

I had this exact problem and RMA'd. It may be an issue of power cycling the battery so many times but I didn't want to take the chance. My new phone has a strong battery that lasts 5 hours on average.

So do you want to replace it ? To be honest, the battery is the only issue i found about this phone . I mean for a phone that has 2100mAh battery and 28nm CPU, the battery performance is only a little bit better than my i9000, that's disappointing...

Its probably because you turned on wifi at that point, while you were browsing the phone is also checking for updates in the background
I've definitely had this problem.
I was getting really good battery life. I've had GSam battery monitor installed since opening and my average is showing at 21h 18m. Yet in the past 2 or 3 days the battery life has fallen off a cliff. I've had about 7.5hrs use so far today, with well under an hour of screen on time, and yet am at 30%.
The big change is battery drain in inactive states. I used to be able to leave it unplugged overnight and the GSam graph would basically be flat. I might lose 1 or 2 per cent. The other night I lost 40%.
The main differences in the GSam app usage section is that the Kernal (Android OS) is now sky high (13.2% for today). I'd hardly registered that as anywhere near a top used before. Chrome seems to be eating up background battery too now, whereas it never used to.
The only change in usage is that I bought a Maxell Qi charging pad, and have used it once or twice. I have to admit, I'm a little concerned. For now, I'm currently on stock everything.
I have same problem whit my Nexus 4.
I charged it today from 15% to Full and then unplugged it and gone to caffe bar whit my friend for a 3 hours and then went home.
That means my Nexus 4 was full time on sleep mode, but when i checked battery % its was on 97% thats pretty much for standby isnt it??
Mediaserver was on top whit 85% and Sleep mode was second whit 10%.
But i think i found solution for this battery drainage.
1.If you have battery drain issue turn off you Nexus 4.
2.Let it be off for an 1 or 2 hours.
3.Turn it on.
4.There should be no Mediaserver battery drain.
NOTE:If you turn you device off again for 1 or 2 hours problem will come back.
For now problem is somehow solved for me whit this Turning off for several hours.
Please report if there is success!!
Actually dropping tot 97% in 3 hours of standby does not sound like a problem. Also depends a lot on the signal quality during standby.
Dropping from 100% to 98-97% goes very quick on my phone. That's a matter of calibration of the battery meter. After that little drop it works like I expect it would.
Remember that the percentage is just an interpretation of battery voltage expressed in percentages. It's an estimation instead of an exact figure.
My nexus was dying after 3-4hrs of standby....with no use and data/WiFi off.
Also seemed like the phone took forever to charge. It got to a point that I turned it off to ensure I would be able to make 1 or 2 short calls during the day
It also stayed burning hot.
RMAd it and new phone has No issues.
Easily gets through day and night with very heavy use. I still haven't updated to 4.2.1.

I'm confused. What's your issue? If I had 16 hours use with only an 8% drop in battery I would be ecstatic. I'd have about 75% use during that time ... on a good day. On a bad day, it would have died after 12 hours.

[Q] 2 hours screen on time normal?

Recently bought a Nexus 4 and I knew the battery life wasn't great, but I didn't think it was this bad.
I'm running the latest version of paranoid android and is getting about 2 hours of on screen time (With 3g on, sync off, auto-brightness) normal? Or would it be worth contacting Google or buying a new battery or something.
The thing which confuses me is that some people report having good battery life while some report having bad battery life, is there a fundamental difference in their hardware? Or are they just different usage level users?

1. battery life mostly depends on your own setup and usage. we all set up our phones differenyly and use it differently.
2. try a different rom and/or kernel.
i get anywhere from 3.5-5.5 hours screen on time, depending how im using my device.

maybe its your setup? the more apps syncing in the background, the less battery. the brighter your screen, the less battery, live wallpapers equal less battery, low quality of your phone/data connection equals less battery, more rom "features" that are active equal less battery life, the worse your phone deep sleeps equal less battery, etc..
I get about 3.5 hours on a rooted nexus 4 with stock JB and no custom kernel.
I get between 3 and 4 hours screen on time with AOKP and Faux123 kernel. That's a mix of WiFi and mobile data, usually with an hour or so of audio streaming.
Your signal strength has a huge effect on battery life, too.
Sent from an N4 blessed with AOKP and sanctified by Faux123!
Try matrix kernel 9.5 change the governor to Wheatley and bam amazing battery life 3+ of sot

Totally stock I get 4 hours OST.
2 hours? That sux man!
Brightness is probably the biggest issue I would think. I managed to get an easy 3.5 hours screen on time on the lowest brightness but struggled to get more than 2.5 on full brightness yesterday (although I was also listening to music a fair amount it must be said).
Sent from my Nexus 4
I use to have around 3 hours of SOT, if not more. I usually use my phone on Wi-fi, have a good GSM signal by my house.
Like 2-3 hours of wi-fi, lots of texting, few games, and auto-brightness always on.
SaberMod, with Franco Kernel .156 (nightly). Also, I have Touch Control installed which takes about 1-2% of the total battery over two days, not that bad
One thing that makes a major difference is turning Location Access off whenever you don't need it
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
But.. These guys that say they do 5 -7 hours of sot are not using their device.. I'm willing to bet android system idle in I. Their battery consumption list.. Or they have almost everything turned off.. Which then why own a smartphone?
Depending on how your using your device anything between 2-3 hours of sot is perfectly normal. I average just under 3 in a 12 hour battery span.. But over 24+ hours I see less than 2 hours of sot.. But I'm not a lite user..

You can not increase sot and not use the device. Get it? Any time the screen is on, the device is in use and the screen just being on is one of the biggest battery users. Try setting your screen to where it won't turn off in the settings menu and then just set it down somewhere. You will find out how quickly the battery drains vs with the screen off. I get 4-5 hrs sot on cellular and 5-6 on wifi. I have background data, syncing, wifi, and gps on all the time. The things I do keep off are Google Now and Google Currents. I also have screen brightness set to roughly 30-35%. I also typically have a good cell signal, in a major metro area. When in a bad location, my sot does drop to around 3hrs.

I thought you said this, " These guys that say they do 5 -7 hours of sot are not using their device.." When I get 5-7 hours of screen time, it is because I used my device for 5-7 hours and this is typically in a 8-12 total battery period. If I don't use my device much, I can also go 20 hrs.

Depending on how your using your device anything between 2-3 hours of sot is perfectly normal. I average just under 3 in a 12 hour battery span.. But over 24+ hours I see less than 2 hours of sot.. But I'm not a lite user..

the harder that you use your device, the more screen on time that you will see. if you use up your battery within 7-10 hours, chances are that you will see more screen on time than someone who uses up their battery in 20+ hours. heres one of my random days usages, i dont disable crap just to disable it. instead, ive learned to take care of my apps so they dont misbehave, and have my system highly optimized. this is my average battery life. i have gotten 5.5+ hours many times, but will post this one because its my average.

funny, i was willing ro bet that youd say that no matter what. unfortunately you are wrong. try mx player, see how much itll drain if you just open it and not watch a movie. it wont drain, onl y if you watch a movie. plus, im a photographer, and spent lots of time editing photos. of course there are all those apps that are below 4% that arent shown in the screenshot, like the browser. and of course, running antutu doesnt count either, right? or do i have to use my phone exactly like you do for it to count? sorry, i dont have the facebook app installed

My G2 is getting Crap battery life!

Hi Guys,
My LG G2 D802 is getting totally unacceptable battery life. I've tried everything but I just don't know what's killing the battery. I've actually got 4 hours screen time max (which is average for the G2) but I was expecting much more. Today, I've barely got 2 hours 45 mins screen time and 22% left... This is just mostly from reading facebook, xda, news apps etc. I've even turned sync to a minimum and am using easy battery saver so when my screen if of, data is off and syncs once every 30 mins for 15s. I have no idea why Android OS and especially Android System( in screenshots below, its used almost 50% of the battery).
What to do? I've attached screenshots of my battery usage and better battery stats.
Thanks
Sean

honestly thats about what I get.....stop comparing your stats to other. most of the time the people that have huge screen on time is because they stay in wifi areas all day, turn down brightness to 0 and turn off syncing completely.

I have sync on absolute min... I've disabled it almost... I was expecting much more from the G2... Even my old Xperia Z1 got 3 hours screen time.. I was at least expecting 5... Anyways, I've always got a strong signal (mostly 3G+4G) and use wifi for 1-2 hours a day so I really cannot understand that.
Also, I'm quite sure that the Android System and OS shouldn't be using so much battery... Something is definetly wrong there...

Not so. I get 5-6hrs screen on and usually go about 16-18hrs between charges. On the heavily modded stock rom. I have Facebook/Twitter & 2 email accounts and only control syncing with battery guru. I'm never on WiFi because my ISP stinks. I live in a great 4g area and have unlimited data so that's what I use.

Have you tried uninstalling/disabling any bloatware or apps you don't use?
Did you make sure your location services are turned off?

I haven't disabled or uninstalled bloatware but I don't use it... Still I shouldn't be getting this much battery usage from android system... Can someone put up a picture of their daily usage especially the % ?
Thanks

If you haven't already, I recommend you download the Gsam Battery Monitor app (available in playstore).
Take screen shots of every menu in that app after you've used your phone from 100% down to 10% and post in this comparative analysis thread.
For your reference, I get anywhere between 4hrs to a maximum of 6hrs of screen-on time depending on usage.
get cpu spy and check what frequency your cpu is at most of the time when not sleeping.
try a couple of battery depletion then charge till full cycles. If no improvement factory reset and try from there.
turn off gps/bleutooth/carrier iq if its enabled btw.

I remove almost every bloated lg app from stock rom. But with 1 hour screen time with max 30% brightness screen is not the bigger drainer. It is android system with 37% usage. Processor worked 5 minutes, waking was 4 minutes. Yet how this could be bigger drainer than one hour screen time.

How often have you ran it down to 10%?
Are you using the OEM charger?
If you have like a 1000mah or 550mah charger, I'd try doing a slow charge overnight (it'll take 4hrs on a 550mah charger) to see if your battery life is improved.

I've been draining down to below 10% each time I've used it (5-6 times)... When I root later, shall I use one of those battery calibration apps? Trickle charge is out of the question for me as I don't have time at night to charge it and I use the OEM charger always... Let me root, try greenify some stuff and see if it helps...

I don't like leaving stuff on the charger and going to bed... I usually forget to turn it off
it should help recondition. just keep it on charger half hour after it says its charged.
At this point I would recommend doing a factory reset on a full stock rom. On earlier phones debloating could have caused a lot of errors and thus weird stuff happening we want to eliminate that. So going back to full stock might be last way of eliminating all else. After that I think hardware issue.
on full stock seek ways to disable that iq cartier, disable locations and switch off gps etc. Perhaps via recents, go to task manager then menu bitton and services. Disable all you dont use and check battery life.
this is all I know.
btw, this is first phone I didnt need to debloat to get amazing life

But isnĀ“t debloating something to improve battery life little bit? Because all LG system stock apps drain quite a lot from battery.
amazing battery life for me
Iv been having amazing battery life. Yesterday from 7am-11pm the phone only got down to 47%. Of course with everything shut off untill im on wifi at home and when im not using data i shut it off. The one thing i know that uses wayyyy to much battery is google now. I turn it off and clear the data and cache. I even have my brightness at 50%. Right now the phones has been on for 5 1/2hrs unplugged and its at 90%. used pandora, watched a video on adult swim app and some light browsing.

Terrible battery life. Compare battery stats!!

I am only getting around 5-6 hrs of screen on time with moderate usage. Android system and android os are probably the main problem that is causing this battery drain. Can you guys show me how ur battery life is and if u are having the same problems.
Also does ur battery stats show mobile data turned on even when it is off??
That's not bad, it is average for a phone with such power. The Note 3 was the same way. That is why they made and sold the Zero lemon battery and case for it. Which was three batteries combined.
Mines been up 13 hours and is down to 57% with the screen being 37% of the load becuase I keep brightness on max at a times. I also have bluetooth on all the time for my car as well as SPARK looking for a connection all the time.
Yeah 5 to 6 hours of screen on time is pretty good. I would say if you want anything more you need to get an extended battery.
Let your WiFi sleep when screen is off.

If your wifi sleeps when the screen is off, it will use 3/4G to collect data. I wonder if that is better or worse?
I believe the wifi scanning will drain the battery more. If you are truely concerned, you can download deep sleep battery saver and it will turn everything off.
I consider that Pretty good battery life coming from the n5.

I used the 50% off coupon code Samsung sent me for buying the phone to order the spare battery and charger from their store... After code it was only $20! Now I'm not worried about battery life lol. Just arrived yesterday
And THIS thread is the reason I'm looking forward to my upgrade date Nov 1st. My Nexus 5 tapped out after 6 hours with only 2 hours of screen on time.

I've had 8 hrs of screen on time with moderate use on my note 3. Even the s5 that I've used gotten better screen on time than the note 4
Tried installing better battery stats, required install as system app and wasn't working.
Now it won't uninstall, reboots phone!
Can someone help?

I'm actually very happy with my battery life. I had a rooted GS3 before the Note 4 and I bought the ZeroLemon extended battery for the S3. I had decent battery life on that but I use my phone so much, with the screen on, that I wanted to stay off the charger for more than 4-5 hours at a time.
I was concerned about the battery life with the Note 4 before I got it because I've never had a Galaxy Note before. I have to say that I absolutely love the phone and the battery life I've been getting! I'm not rooted, at least not yet. I'm getting 6.5 to just over 8 hours of screen on with moderate to heavy usage. I am on WiFi almost all the time. I hardly make or receive phone calls but I do text and use WhatsApp a lot. No Bluetooth, no NFC, haptic feedback turned off for everything, brightness turned down very low. Mobile data turned off when I'm home since I'm on WiFi. I use the s-pen quite a bit. I use Tasker to change some settings when I go out, come home, etc. I play games (Restaurant Story, Stand O' Food, and some others daily), watch YouTube, Facebook, XDA app, lots of reading articles using Chrome Beta, lots of apps that I'm sure don't tax the phone too much. I use the black background for every app that has it as an option. Now if I've been playing GTA: San Andreas then the battery crashes fast. LOL But that's expected.
Anyway, I'm just trying to give an idea of what I do on my phone. I consider my usage to be pretty heavy but everyone has their own opinion of what heavy or moderate usage means.
Edit: amazingly I just hit 9 hours of screen on. I'm down to 2%. Now that I hit 9 hours I can plug my charger in. LOL Saw it getting close so I waited.

Wow that is awesome. I have never seen a device get that much screen on time without being rooted. Is it a software problem for me then that is causing a battery drain ?
