I bought one of these tablets awhile ago and when i got it i also bought a usb to micro usb cable to plug in a controller etc
My question is, i have a pair of usb headphones that i was hoping would also work but they do not seem too, Is there anyway to do this?
Pardon my ingorance if this was a stupid question.

I recently purchased the Asus Transformer but thinking I would really like to have the USB options on the Acer. Before I take the Transformer back and purchase the Acer, I have a couple questions I hope someone can help me out on. I asked these at Best Buy but of course it took 4 different people to ask others and then they "expert" wasnt sure about his answer and said "it should."
1. Can you charge the unit through the USB connector instead of the connector on the bottom of the unit. This way when I travel, I can use my phone charger instead of packing mulitple chargers. If so, will it charge when connected to a computer through the USB?
2. Can I plug a camera (Samsung or Canon DSLR) in to the USB port and be able to display the pictures on the Acer? This is not a big show stopper since I could use a USB adapter to plug the memory card in.
Thanks.
No to charging. Not yet to camera connectivity

Hello everyone.
I am currently modding Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for car instalation and everything seems to be great except I have problems with two things:
1) As the tab will be also my main music player I would need an USB host from time to time (check: http://www.expansys.si/samsung-usb-adapter-for-galaxy-tab-series-no-30-pin-to-sd-slot-229630/ ). It would be hard to switch that adapter with power supply just for the time I need to stick USB in it so I am asking if anyone knows if it is possible to have both active at the same time: power supply and USB host? Or if anyone has some other interesting idea how to transfer data to tablet asap from time to time? Please note that it will be really hard to reach it when installed.
2) Since the tab has back camera (which is useless to me in cars interior) i was thinking if there is any possible way to get that camera out of the tab with some extender or something? I've been looking at the interior of a tablet and the camera doesnt look to be attach in any other way than just a flat cable. Any ideas?
Thank you guys for your help in advance!

It sound like this will be a permanent installation.
Instead of €22 for an adapter, I'd rather use a breakout and hardwire:
http://www.kineteka.com/galaxy-tab-connector.aspx
This will also allow you to wire the earphone output also.
Yes, with many devices you can charge and do host mode at the same time.
It's mostly a question of convincing your device to play nicely with a non-standard operation.
You can just bring out the USB leads or hardwire in a hub for more options, like a keyboard.
I'd use a DC converter circuit board hardwired instead of a cigarette lighter adaptor.
Something like this, maybe: http://www.lightobject.com/LM2576-High-Input-7V40V-Switching-5V-Power-Module-Regulator-P549.aspx
I think somewhere in the Tab 10.1 forums, someone figured out the proper wiring for a powered USB host adapter. 90% certain that would also work on Tab 2 7.0
Hi,
i have ordered a Slimport adapter 2 days ago to connect my Nexus 4 to my tv.
Now i was wondering if it is possible to connect the adapter to a dockingstation with a micro usb slot.
Im not sure if this is working because of a different cable standard?
I couldn`t found any informations about that. Can somebody share some information if this could work?
Thanks a lot and sorry for the bad english
Sry i was not able to post links to the products because of spam protection.
Thanks

Hi,
So it appears that made I may have made a mistake when I ordered my MK809, I thought to myself that as I already have a Anker mini bluetooth keyboard and mouse I could simply plug the dongle into the device.
It seems that I was wrong, very wrong or am I?
Hi all,
I've just ordered this gorgeous phone and am waiting for it to be delivered. In the meantime I've been wondering given that it's capable of HDMI output and serve as USB host whether it is possible of it doing both at the same time, if say I hooked up the HDMI output along with other usb devices, like a USB drive and a keyboard via a usb HUB. I would be practically creating a bespoke docking station of sorts..
I know it's pushing the technology a little... and there are other alternatives to USB devices (NAS drives, wireless mouse/keyboards...), but my question is more about what the device is capable of.
Thanks.
Update:
So far I've successfully managed to plug in an old USB hub via a cheap micro-usb to USB adapter bought off e-bay. From there I hooked up a USB keyboard, Mouse, pen drive and also USB speakers.
I'm amazed it actually managed to power all of these devices without any problems (imagine battery drain is massive given that the usb hub is unpowered).
I would like to know if anyone has tried hooking up HDMI output while the USB is hosting other devices. Has anyone tried this already? I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find a definitive answer to my question.
As a side note, does anyone know of a docking station for the G2, similar to what you get with laptops?
Did you figure out the answer to this?

No, I have not yet tried this out. I had bought an HDMI cable/device thing but never got it to work on my TV.. apparently it had something to do with the technology that the phone uses for HDMI not being compatible with older Samsung TVs.
Would be great if anyone else has tried this out could post here, whatever the outcome
