If you have the bootloader unlocked then you can reflash the WHOLE device (will wipe EVERYTHING) using the Nexus Stock Image flasher created by Google Developers.

Choose Android 4.2.2 or 4.3, of course you need the drivers, unlocked bootloader and you need to be in the bootloader for Fastboot to work so the device can be reflashed.

I'm currently running JB 4.2.1 with radio .33 in order to keep LTE. I noticed I'm running the 4.2.2 boot loader (MAKOZ10o) and I wanted to downgrade.
I can't seem to find a file to downgrade the boot loader. Can anyone provide a link?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Download the 4.2.1 system image (probably have to get it from oldblue's thread as Google removed it) and flash the bootloader file from that. Just bear in mind it'll break things like autofocus in CM 10.1 (for example) if you do downgrade...or was that just the radio? Can't remember...
Do you have a link to his thread?

It's in the sticky thread...

Is there no flashable CWM zip for the MAKOZ0I boot loader as opposed to the entire ROM?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
No as this is a system partition. You will need to download the entire factory image, extract the bootloader file and flash it in fastboot. There is no other way

Hey guys! I have a question!
I updated my Nexus 4 to Android 4.3, completely stock.
So can I install CWM which I already I used on 4.2.2 by installing it the same way? Or have things changed now?
I hope you guys will be enthousiast to respond while the madness on Tomorrowland is going on, thanks in advance & greetz from Belgium!

Hi You can install the same recovery you already used exactly the same way.
Sent from my Nexus⁴ using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I flashed Google factory image of Google too. I flashed twrp just like i did on 4.2.2. So AFAIK you can flash recovery just the way you used too and the same img too.

Ok guys, it's clear. Thanks for the answer and enjoy your summer and Tomorrowland weekend!

Hello! I have TWRP installed on my device without root or custom rom/kernel. Is there a way I can just flash the stock recovery to get future OTA updates? I prefer using a method that doesnt require admin rights on my pc, because I am not using my own pc for the moment.
You can get the factory image, extract ALL the zips and when you find the recovery image do "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img".

That's the problem. Efrant says you have to use 7zip and not any other thing to extract the image, but I cant install it because I dont have admin rights on this pc.
You can use Flashify from Play Store to flash recovery images without PC.

I downloaded the factory image myself, but you can give it to me as well so I know I did it correctly. Why actually do you have to use 7zip?
Edit: nope I cant extract it myself

Yeah, it totally worked. Also locked bootloader using BootUnlocker app.
Got some piece of mind and I also hope this will ease up my ORD a bit
I may easily restore my backed up custom recovery using flashify if I ever need to update ROM or whatever...

Thanks! It's the one for 4.3 right?
And if I want to install a custom rom, and make a twrp backup. Can I then go back to restore the backup and then just flash this recovery in fastboot to get the OTA?

Yes, yes and yes.
You can use Flashify to make a backup, restore and flash.
Remember you can only flash 3 times a day unless you pay for the full version.

No I mean making a backup in twrp, install a custom rom. New version of android comes out: (let's say 5.0 because updating CM for example from 4.3. to 4.3.1 isnt that hard I think), just restore the backup and flash this recovery in fastboot. (without flashify)
Then I will get the OTA?

Ok thanks (I ran out of thanks for today)
I think I am going to stay with this TWRP for a while (actually I want CM official nightlies back) and will try this method when KLP comes out. I think I will have my pc back then and will be able to pull the recovery of the image then and I will post if it worked or not!
thank you for your effort mate!

I decided to flash the stock recovery anyway. So now I am fully stock and will get future OTA updates? I actually like the stock rom, but will maybe fllash CM10.2 if nemesis comes with some cool stuff.

Sorry i meant no command .
Also i cant do any backup or to use diff rom then the vandor cause when i got into recovery i got the only option is to sideload with ADB other are wipes options please help im stack
ok i did 4.4 upload again then root+custom recovery the "no command is gone"
I think what you can do is to flash the 4.4 factory images via fastboot mode then update to 4.4.1 by OTA or sideload through recovery.

Hey fellas!
I am actually a N5 owner and using it without rooting it for past 6 months and pretty happy with that. Before N5 i had Galaxy S3 on which i tried a lot of things and learned about rooting,flashing..etc.
Now i have my friends N4 which always stuck at bootloop after update(that's what my friend told me) i tried clearing cache, factory reset from the stock recovery but all in vain.I have no drivers installed in my lappy just for info.
So, what info i have?
in recovery it is showing build no - KRT16S
Bootloader ver - MAK0Z30d
Baseband ver - M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.97
Secure Boot - enabled
Lock State - locked
What can i do?
U tell me!
Flash factory image, latest one
Update your recovery and try flashing again.
Maybe unlock the bootloader and flash the factory image with a toolkit

Flash the factor image with a tool kit? Why would you need that. Just flash it in fastboot.

To make all easier, not everyone knows how to flash images via fastboot. Both ways takes you to the same place.
