[Tutorial]Xbox 360 pad for galaxy tab 2 7.0 - Galaxy Tab 2 General

Hello!
If you like to play games on gtab you know that touchscreen isn't very comfortable. The best way to play is of course pad but our gtab don't recognize them (even with usb/bt joypad studio). Hopefully ketut.kumajaya share with us way to get xbox 360 wireless pad working for free. I've got permissions to share this tutorial.
It's tested on blackhawk's NEXT kernel with cm10.1 but it should work with other kernels/roms too (not tested).
1. What we need?
- USB otg cable (I've got cheap, chinese otg cable and it works great )
- wireless xbox 360 pad with usb reciver for pc (this won't work if you plug cable to wireless pad, I've tested that)
- root
- any root explorer
- package from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43869309&postcount=544 (don't forget to thank him )
2. What we need to do?
- unzip package
- grab ff-memless.ko, joydev.ko, xpad.ko and put it to /data/local/tmp/ with root explorer or adb
- open terminal and type:
su
insmod /data/local/tmp/ff-memless.ko
insmod /data/local/tmp/xpad.ko
insmod /data/local/tmp/joydev.ko
Click to collapse
- type lsmod in terminal to check modules are installed properly
- plug otg cable to reciver
- plug reciver with otg cable to tab (led should turn on)
- turn on and sync pad with reciver
- enjoy
3. Bugs?
- big x led on pad is still flashing (not like it work with pc or xbox)
5. Notes:
- after every reboot you need to instal modules again but you can add insmod commads to: /system/etc/init.d/02modules
- you can control interface with it left stick - secect, x,y - press, back - menu, start - home, a,b - back
6. Thanks:
- big thanks to ketut.kumajaya for all his work
- big thanks for all people who work on modules

This actually works for me! Thanks

[DEV-INFO] USB is a host controller on GTab

After much thinking (ok not really - just an idea) about the usb port on the GTablet, I decided to test out whether or not it's a USB host controller as I hadn't seen anything in any documentation saying either way.
Thanks to TheJesus (Winnah9000 on irc) and cryofix on irc channel #tegratab for testing and reporting back their results.
I am posting what is confirmed as working so far:
(cryofix)
ROM version: Vegan 5.1
Kernel version: pershoot 2.6.32.28
Hub type: 5-in-1 reader and 5-port hub
Peripherals: keyboard & mouse (mouse doesn't work on Vegan 5.1), SoundBlaster USB sound (didn't get it to work, but did show up as connected in logcat)
(Winnah9000)
ROM version: CM7
Kernel version: pershoot 2.6.32.28
Hub type: 4-port hub
Peripherals: keyboard and mouse
***Note: Winnah9000 stated that he was using Quake 3 for Android on the GTablet and controlling using the keyboard and mouse connected to the 4-port hub:
Winnah9000: Omg, Quake 3 is hilarious on this. Only issue is that since keyboard and mouse are on the same hub they are having issues trying to communicate at the same time so the mouse is very jittery, but it's fine for a fast-paced game like Quake 3
Winnah9000: Quake 3 runs so fluid
Winnah9000: http://code.google.com/p/kwaak3/ Quake 3 on Android
Winnah9000: 35-60FPS on max settings

Thought I'd go ahead and add my details in (I'm Winnah9000 in IRC)
Keyboard - WITGlobal.com's G Tab case w/ built-in keyboard.
Mouse - Crappy Dell laser mouse
Experience - Not as good as a computer because the mouse input is jittery when using the keyboard in conjunction as they are clashing when communicating. Amazing seeing how this is a tablet without full OpenGL optimization. There's no kind of lag at all, constant high 30s to 60s with one other bot (haven't tried more).
Other notes - I had used an Asus ROG laser mouse with like 3000dpi but that was way too sensitive to use. Gonna try using my G15 keyboard and a bluetooth mouse over the next couple days when I get bored to see if I notice any kind of difference. Also, the keyboard I am using doesn't particularly like multiple simultaneous keystrokes so running diagonally is hit and miss :/
If anyone has any questions or wants me to test something, feel free to ask here or in IRC

He said everything mounted except for the DVD drive but he didn't try it. So, we can definitely do external storage, but we need more internal!
I've been sidetracked getting everything converted over to Debian 6.0 on my desktop machine and netbook so the DVD has been in use. If it doesn't mount it'd just be an issue of ISO/UDF filesystem drivers and those can be compiled and loaded as modules.
so?
does this mean there may be a way to use my android phone as a keyboard/trackpad?
something similar to gmote working as keyboard/trackpad for my pc. i'm using tnt lite though.
Apple aluminum USB keyboards still do not seem to work. A dell mouse plugged into the Apple keyboard does, so apparently the Hub in these keyboards work.
Due to it's size and built-in hub, the mini apple keyboard (without numeric pad) makes a perfect companion to the G-Tablet. Too bad it does not work.

PS3 Controller BT Now Working on TN7!!!

That's right, I currently have a PS3 controller working via internal BT on my rooted TN7 running 4.3 JB.
It all started with me looking for any new info on if/when we will get Lollipop and I found a Tegra Note Google+ page ( https://plus.google.com/communities/107930429626808861984 ) . Then I saw this post https://plus.google.com/+LeidivalSilvaSales/posts/TnDVpXqUCau and in the comments on this post a guy claiming that it was working on his TN7 https://plus.google.com/113859637427636372771/posts/22eAWCYqN1W
I hadn't tried to pair the controller in awhile and there were some updates to the Sixaxis app since then so I reinstalled installed Sixaxis Compatibility Checker. At first it didn't seem to work but here is the key, assuming the BT address in the controller had already been changed to match your device the controller has to be off or charging and you unplug it AFTER you hit the start button on the app. If the lights are blinking before you hit start it won't pair. After doing this the app paired the controller and registered all button/joystick inputs! I immediately bought the full Sixaxis app and with a little configuration was using the controller with ePSXe. Vibration doesn't seem to work but all the buttons/joysticks do. I haven't tried the tilt function yet. I'm so happy, I don't own a ps3 and bought the controller specifically to use with the TN7 and its been collecting dust for over 6 months because it didn't work.
If anybody doesn't believe me I can post a video.
I do not understand
I do not understand your tutorial, I am sorry.
What do I have to do?
I have
- rooted TN7
- installed Sixaxis Controller App
- DS3-Controller, with changed BT-Adress to fit my TN7
- USB-OTG-Cable
What is the exact order to make it work via bluetooth?
By connecting my DS3-Controller via USB-OTG all lights are blinking (there is no way to prevent this).
Thank you in advance!
--
Update1:
Oh, nevermind my post I found out myself..
1. Change the DS3-Controller Master-Adress to fit TN7 (by using MotionInJoyDriver and Configuration with BetterDS3_1.5.3)
2. Have the SixAxis-App running
3. Connect the DS3-Controller via USB-OTG to the TN7
4. Press Pair in the App, and set that checkmark to always set that adress for your usb-device
5. Press Start in the SixAxis-App (wait a few seconds, until everything is loaded)
5.1. Now the lights on the controller are blinking (or they were blinking before)
6. Press some buttons on your controller, by still having it connected via USB-OTG, to look, if it is working.
7. Hide SixAxis-App and bring it to front again
8. Hide SixAxis-App and unplug for Controller from that USB-OTG-Cable
9. Bring SixAxis-App to front and try to push some buttons on your controler (it is now working wireless).
Now you have successfully configured your DS3 with your TN7.
To make it always work via bluetooth finally do the following:
1. Make sure your gamepad is turned off
2. Open SixAxis-App and hit Start
2.1. Wait until everything (that driver stuff) is successfully loaded
3. Press Home on your DS3-Controller (now your Controller is connected to your TN7)
4. Celebrate that day and have fun playing games
Perhaps a few steps mentioned here are not necessary, but that is the way I made it work with my TN7.
It's also still working after a (soft) restart of my TN7.
Yayness!
I'm not exactly sure what the revelation here is... I've been using my PS3 controller with my TN7 for ages with the Sixaxis app. Glad it works for you too!

With the wired Xbox 360 controller attached the mouse does not show on screen, or aparently actually move the cursor, but clicks still work, I have not yet located a menu button or Back button (when typing, backspace simply backspaces, so good chance that is not it). I'll play with it some more later.

the white LED on the front of the AFTV2 lights up when you press the buttons, except the R/L triggers, d pad, and sticks, I'll install an EMU to test the buttons in the setup. Also, the big X in the middle acts like the home button, and double pressing it does get picked up by Firestarter. Depressing the sticks acts like the green button
I've noticed somethings, having the mouse and the joystick connected at the same time causes the mouse circle to not show. some apps will only select exterior options, not internal frames if they have like a permanent border that shows around the edges (like plex). I've also noticed the keyboard doesn't always type in the text boxes after I select them.. will play around a bit and see if it is my configuration.
I'm using apple's Magic Mouse 1 and a Galaxy Tab7 keyboard case on 5.0.3.1. Both connect via bluetooth w/o problems and are useable. I didn't look into keymapping so far, so not all chars are set right when you type. Both work also on the fire tv1.

USB GPS (Car PC)

Hi everybody,
I want to use the Nvidia Shield TV as a car pc. At the moment I use a Tronsmart Vega S89 for the same purpose which I have connected to a Globalsat BU-353-S4 USB GPS. The GPS is working just like an internal receiver on any smartphone.
I used a tutorial on minixforum to get it to work.
These are the steps i used:
add in the build.prop "ro.kernel.android.gps=ttyUSB0" and "ro.kernel.android.gps.speed=4800"
make a directory "/system/lib/modules" and copy "pl2303.ko" in the directory
copy "gps.default.so" in "/system/lib/hw"
copy "install-recovery.sh" and "init.gps.sh" to "/system/etc"
set permission 755
reboot
When I try to do the same thing on my new Nvidia Shield TV nothing happens. I read somewhere that one has to compile the PL2303.ko to suit the device, but I have no idea on how to do it.
It runs on full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV 1.2 and I was hoping to use it as a substitute for the S89.
I hope someone can help me get this to work.
Thank you in advance.
I think its so much power for a car... you can get cheapest boxes for that, or just a tab, just think about it.

Well, I have a built-in monitor in combination with a video input in my Volvo. I use the S89 mainly to navigate with Navigon, to get speed camera warnings and to listen to music via Spotify.
I like the power of the Nvidia Shield TV and its potential to be a perfect car pc for me. Another advantage is that it has Marshmallow and that it is booting pretty fast. That's why I want this to work. But without GPS it is pretty much useless as a car pc.

GNSS Commander (available in PlayStore ) supports PL2303 based USB GPS devices as a mock location provider.
I am using it with a Columbus V-800 on a Teclast X98 Plus II (running Android 5.1 ) that I have embedded into my car's dash.
I have tried many other mock location providers but most of them do not support anything beyond 9600 baud. That speed is insufficient for any GPS that is updating at more than 1 time per second.
I need to run at 38400 baud so that my GPS can update at 5 times/second.
I only found one mock location provider that supports 38400 baud (PL2303 GPS Mock Location Provider) but it crashes every few seconds. Many other user reviews for that app report crashes also.
GNSS Commander works perfectly with my hardware and without crashing.

Adapter to plug a USB Device on Firestick rooted

I want connect a USB-Stick on a rooted Firerv Stick but when i search in Ebay or Amazon, i'm unsure witch Adapter give Power to Stick and i have Access to my USB Stick
What do you use?
Gesendet von meinem LG-H850
Pretty much any micro USB OTG cable that also has a separate female micro USB to use for power will work. Here is my article about it, with info about the cable I used: http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-conn...-to-a-rooted-fire-tv-stick-with-an-otg-cable/
yes i know that but i have ordered a Adapter but this wont work. Stick will not start with that (with and without plugged USB Device) this is why i ask
Gesendet von meinem LG-H850
I'm also using the one posted on AFTVnews.
I plug one of the micro ends into the stick, the other micro end into the power supply. The regular USB plug goes to my powered hub.
I've also added a script that autoruns to run the commandn to turn on USB support. (All of this requires root, btw.)
Currently running a TrendNet TU2-ET100 USB-Ethernet adapter. Makes Kodi FF and such so much more responsive.
Before using the hub, I had gotten a warning that the power to the Stick may not be enough to complete an update. What ... a ... shame.

Is there any chance you can share that script for us?
And how you have it autorun?
I just got my otg today and will be using usb mouse/keyboard.
Will be handy to have the commands auto run to get it working.
Thanks.
I created a script called usbon --
#!/system/bin/sh
echo 1 > /sys/devices/platform/bcmpmu_otg_xceiv/host
I made /system r/w and pushed it (via adbFire) to
/system/su.d
I did two chmods inside the above directory (from an ADB shell as SU):
chmod 700 usbon
chmod 700 .
I'm not at all sure if that second is needed.
I got this from a thread here I can't seem to find. People in that thread apparently were having problems with permissions, etc., but it works for me.
long time ago i have now a working adapter and with the usbon script from @ftgftg was start with RombToolbox working fine. I wondered NTFS formated external HD works too xD
But it will only usable with ES-Explorer and not with the most important App for our Stick... Kodi.
On my HD i have Videos and Music saved and i want use it watch and hear it with Kodi
also i want access via a remote tool such as Samba server so i can copy files from PC (or Phone) directly to the HD
My Fritzbox is to unstable to use it as NAS and have often connection issue so i think this is not good...
send and wrote with stickyfingers from my unholy and horny LG H850
