[Q][LG L7 Dual][P715] Speed Up, Boost Internet And Download Speed - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I feel my lg p715 internet speed is slow,it just about 40-50 kbytes/sec, when i use an app like network booster (downloaded in gplay) its speed up my internet speed to 100-300 kbytes/sec (the normal speed). i have tried to use another device like samsung grand duos, xperia x10, and sam gt p7300, and the speed is 100-300 kbps without tweaks.
i also have used any tweak from another section in xda but it seems useless, like modified build.prop,etc.
so,my question is : Is there anyway to make my internet speed faster in my p715 without use the app called "network booster"? because this app just speed up my conn. temporary, everytime i should run it when my conn feel slow.
thanks for answer or any solutions.

HSDPA/GPRS Internet Very Slow

Hi folks, I absolutely love my X1, and am still learning how to use it.
This is the first contract I have had, which has an internet package included, so for the first time, I am experiencing internet on my phone.
I am confused however, as I am sure I read somewhere that the X1 was capable of connection speeds of 7mb/s, whereas I am getting a performance more akin to 56kb/s dialup. Webpages often take 10-20 seconds to load.
I realise that the speed is probably dictated by the network (Vodafone UK in my case), but this is ridiculously slow. Is this normal, or can I tweak my settings in anyway to get something closer to a broadband experience on my phone?
Thanks
Gopes
are you using the pc or the xperia to load the websites? 10-20 sec are quite normal for a full webpage like cnet.de on the xperia. and the theorethical connection speed is 7.2 mbit/s not 7Mb/s!
Heh,
you'll never load a page on 2 seconds, if that's what you ask
"Loading speed" is not equal to "Download speed"
Yes HSDPA can go up to 7,200 kbps or even 14,400 kbps "download speeds"
But many factors have influence on "loading speed": your settings and software (browser, cache, processor speed, plugins...), phone (EDGE, 3g, HSDPA...) AND your provider/carrier's bandwith
If you want to test your REAL "download speed" there are some "download speed meter" web pages around
7,200 kbps is very thoerical. Your operator has the full cake and will never reveeal the real size of the cake (1000 kbps ??)
If every user in your area starts phone-browsing at the same time then your operator's cake will be sliced, thus giving a piece of the cake to everyone
Thanks for the responses. Seems like my phone's internet access speed is normal then
Oh well, I have a 1mbit connection on my pc - but my phone is no way near as quick to open pages as my pc. Maybe the next generation of phones will have a better internet capability.
Thanks

Exactly.
However, try also OperaMini, which with a fast connection is really quick.
As for OperaMobile 9.5, remember that your device with 528mHz processor and 120MB of free RAM has to load a page
which is normally operated by the computer which is few times stronger.
I've got a 1.8mbit site 300 metres up the road from me and surfing the web on HSDPA is super fast
Just waiting for Vodafone to upgrade it to a 7.2 (which most likely won't happen for many years).
urrghhh i know about vodafone speeds. Its nothing short of terrible on the X1 and not just cos of voda, its cos the radio is rubbish. I cant upgrade to diamond radio (device locked...) and so I can't ever get more than 2 bars on "H".
Can someone tell me if 3-4 bars with 3G icon is better/worse than 1-2 bars with the H icon?? I'm suspecting the former is faster.
In which case, can I set the phone to connect via 3G all the time and then ignore H connections??

EDGE < 3G < HSDPA (HSDPA is also called "3.5G" by someines)
EDGE MAX: 128 kbps
UMTS 3G MAX: 512 kbps
HSDPA MAX: 14,400 kbps
I managed to download a .net3.5 cab file (2.5mb) in under 5 seconds on my X1 over UK Vodafone HSDPA today

tethering: is this possible?

some of you know may know me, and i am letting you guys know now, i am deffinitely not a noob when it comes to this stuff.
anyways, im staying at a hotel in vegas, and i decided to tether my laptop instead of paying for wifi. its working really nice, but my tethering app says im geting 20+ mbs of download speed, and 2+mb of upload speed
im running JACS hero 1.8b4, overclocker at 527mb, and have a swap file at 128mb with 60 swappiness
now is it possible between the overclock and swap, that my tethering really is running that high? or is the app messed up.
Nope... don't think its possible to get that high speeds because as far as I know, 3G doesn't even support those speeds (in reality anyways). Overclocking and Swap should not affect internet speeds at all as they are two very different things (an old P3 500mhz can still have 20Mbits/2Mbits connection despite being very slow). The speed of your internet is determined by your provider not they phone. Don't know how you got those speeds, but make sure you're not accidentally paying for them, otherwise, enjoy your lightning speeds!
just go download a file from a web browser and see the download speed.
I'm so tired off hearing about numbers from stupid apps or even http based speedtests.
If your using the wifi tether for root user app the two numbers on the bottom are not your current speed but the amount of data you have downloaded and uploaded during your session. Otherwise make sure your wifi is not hooking onto something.

3G download speed limit?

I recently got a huawei X5 and I use it to get internet in my pc, via tethering.
However, I notice that in the X5, I can only get 1Mbps download speed, while using a broadband usb modem, in the same place, at the same time and with the same sim card, I can get 2-3Mbps everytime.
It's also very strange that even on X5 I can get close to 3Mbps on upload speed, which should be lower than download.
I notice that in the speed test it starts high, close to 3-4Mbps, but then it lowers and stays almost constant at 1Mpbs. The upload speed is much more erratic, the graph has big ups and downs, as it would be expected.
If I test wifi speed, I get the full 10Mpbs of my home connection, so it's not a cpu issue.
Is there anything I can do to improve this?
maybe huawei set a limit because of the battery consuming?
Sent from my Huawei u8800 using XDA App
that doesn't make much sense, why would they put a limit only on the download speed? the upload also spends a lot of energy.
My guess is that there is something elso wrong in here, but I don't know what.
Anyone else with a X5 can confirm that this doesn't happen? And if possible tell me what stock rom, custom rom and kernel has so that I can try the same configuration?
4,5Mbits download
1,5Mbits upload
both speeds are constant (good coverage)
did a little more digging and it appears there are 2 valid apn settings for my provider.
one used by smartphones, speed limited to hellp keep costs down, and another unlimited.
Changed and I have full speed now.

Data speed on Tethering

Hi
Before i got my i9505 i used my i9000, i travel alot and when the hotells doesn't provide wifi i use wireless tether. This always worked good and i was looking forward to get my hands on a 4G phone for faster speeds... problem now is that i cant say the speed is better... not even better then the i9000 for some reason.
It starts of good with fair speeds depending on coverage.. then it goes down fast, after just 2-3 minutes of downloading a big file the speed goes down to about 50kb/s for some reason and stays there untill i restart tether.
Could someone help me confirm this by downloading a big file ('bout 500mb or so?) and see if you can reproduce it.
currently i'm on ME2 with Omega 3.0
Swedish Three as provider and when i used speedtest.net while the download speed was 50kb/s i still had 5mb/s on the phone
unfortunately i did not test this while i was on stock rom would have been great if i did so it would be easier to determin where the problem was.
I also noticed the speed went higher (not full speed though) if i never let the screen go to sleep. i dont use any power savers of any kind.

[Q] Horrible download speed

Hello, eversince I flashed my Galaxy Y back to stock after some bootloop problems my phones download speed have been horrible, I downloaded the same file on my laptop and my phone which are both on same WIFI, the phone downloads at like 10-50/kbps and the laptop downloads at steady 1/mbps. Did speedtest on both devices too and they do get the same results, 10mb down 1mb up.

OK so
A.the download speed of a smart phone is always slower then the laptops download speed because the laptop wifi is way stronger then the phone wifi unless you have a top end smart phone like a note2
B.if and only if you downloading at the same time don't do it
C.you can try and install some wifi tweaks 3g tweaks you name it no need to flash a rom just a script
don't forget to press thx :good::good::good:
Question
use 3g turbochager to optmize http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36794328#post36794328 .

The wifi is slower and weaker on smart phones, you have 2 solutions, installing some net tweaks (search for them) or using 3g (more faster)
