I have used verygreens sd boot v1.3 for cm7 on nook color but no matter what version of cm7 I run it will not let me boot into recovery to flash gapps. I've tried any and all button combos, reboot into recovery from power menu, and boot into recovery from clockwork mod. I have searched all over for this issue but have not found anything about not being able to get into recovery at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

verygreen SD has no CWM recovery. You do not flash gapps that way. Look at the explanation in my tips thread in my signature.
Hi all,
Previously i had "Dual boot cm7/cm9" on sdcard and when booting into recovery i was able to find my way around about flashing zips and everything.
Now i wiped SD card and installed, first generic-sdcard-v1.3-ICS-large.img , then CM9 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526115.
Now i have 1) eMMC recovery 3.2.0.1 which has "normal" menu, and if i choose Apply zip from SD card, i cannot find CM9.zip which i downloaded from Goo Manager.
And i also have 2) SD recovery, which is just bunch lines of code with penguin in left corner and after lines of code it just shuts down.
How can i have "normal" recovery menu on SD recovery too?
Thank anyone for help!

If i understood correctly from your tips , there is NO CWM Recovery for SD installs,
so how do we do a backup or restore ROM then?

You read my tips correctly. But keep reading my tips further. There is a section there about installing an alternate CWM recovery for verygreen SD installs that can do backups and restores.
You should read all of Section B.

Thanks, will do.
So I tried to update my wife's nook color from cm7 to the latest cm10. I had messed up the partition layout before but she would never let me try to fix it, so I was trying to re partition it to the 1/5 set up. It will not read the SD card, either within the ROM or in recovery. I was able to get the repartition files to what the ROM thinks is the SD card but it won't flash. I tried to reboot into recovery to flash the reformat zip and it is now stuck in cyanoboot. It will not boot into recovery, ROM (CM7), or a boot able SD I made.
What are my options?
Force a factory reset and start over? I've never had luck with the 8 failed to boot method.
Thanks foe the help

You need to use my bootable CWM card found in my tips thread linked in my signature. It has been modified to boot in these circumstances. Then go to my partition repair thread and run those zips. It will take you back to 1/5.

I gotta say, you guys here in the NC forums are the best. Thanks form the quick reply
**edit**
So I got it up and running, just one little issue. It gets stuck at the bootloader screen and it wont boot into recovery. I can get it yo boot into the sd recovery and flash/backup whatever I want, and then reboot system. But it won't reboot recovery from cm10 or cyano boot menu

Do you mean to boot to internal recovery? There is none there after you did the partition repair. It wiped everything. And if you put a CM rom back on it, that does not put any recovery on it, just the rom. Go to my tips thread linked in my signature and there are several recoveries there to put on emmc. I recommend the 5.5.0.4 version for emmc.

From the sd card recovery, I've flashed the latest twrp. It won't go there from the bootloader or reboot into the rom

"or reboot into the rom". What does that mean? You cannot get the new flashed rom to boot? Or did you mean you could not get it to boot to internal recovery from the power menu in CM10? If the latter, try installing a different recovery to internal to see if the twrp install corrupted somehow.

Hello,
I used to have a NC successfully running CM7 until it crashed a few weeks ago.
After the crash, in my enthusiasm to fix it, I MUCKED IT UP royally. It tried to boot showing the CWM logo for a moment, then went to black screen.
I tried following the forums to fix the issue, but I only made it worse. Long story short, I may have deleted all my partitions, including partition 3; but, with Leapinlar's help (thanks so much to you for your patience) I was able to flash partitions 1,4,5,6,7,8. Then partition2 with a specially written zip file (again, thanks Leapinlar). At this point, my NC boots directly to CWM 5.5.0.4 on the emmc.
I am ready to try and rebuild, but I am on information overload. I want to know:
1. Which set of files (boot, cwm, cm10 and gapps) works together for a relatively seamless install?
2. Can these files be loaded on a blank NC. Meaning, do I need to get it back up to factory settings before I can modify it again?
3. Should I donate it to one of you to use as a tester and just buy a Google 10 or ASUS Infinity?
I plan on deleting all files except the latest ones I got from Leapinlar's post. I am not asking to reinvent the wheel at this post, just that I be directed to where the best option rests.
Thanks for you help,
Gilligan's sister - Ms. Y
OK, I recommend the 04/21 version of CM10 which you can get here. And for gapps, you need the 20121011 version here. And for emmc CWM, I recommend the 5.5.0.4 version you can get here. Just flash all of these with the 5.5.0.4 you currently have on emmc. Do all three before you reboot. No need to do any wiping or anything else. Hopefully our partition repairs did everything right and it boots to the new CM10.
As far as getting another device, I would wait until you see how you like this repaired one. If it does not work or you are not happy with it, then consider another device. As far as another device, I like the new Nook HD+, but I don't know how it compares with the others you mentioned.

CM10 -> GApps -> 5.5.0.4

Did you try holding the n button during the first time the cyanoboot logo showed? That should bring up the boot menu. Then select emmc recovery and see if CWM comes up. If it does try doing a "wipe data/factory reset". The reboot and see what you get. If it still hangs, boot back to CWM and reflash CM10 and boot again.

Try redownloading the CM10 zip and reflashing. Maybe even the 4/14 version.

There still may be something wrong with your emmc partitions. Why don't you try an NC SD install per my thread linked in my signature.

I just bought a used Nook that came loaded with Cyanogenmod. I want to install a clean and newer version of CM, but it turns out that this Nook doesn't seem to have Recovery setup on it... I can boot to a bootable SD and install the new, clean version, but I want a built in recovery. I can't see to figure out how to get recovery directly on the device though... Can someone help me fix this?
Go to my NC Tips thread linked in my signature and look for the CWM recovery for emmc zip and flash that with your bootable CWM SD. I recommend the 5.5.0.4 version.
