Help with auto rotate and volume keys w/ CM10.1 - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thanks in advance for any help on this.
I have 3 nook colors. Two run CM10.1 just fine. The third one has two issues that plague it when CM10.1 is installed. First issue is that auto rotate doesn't work. I've set auto rotate in all three locations within settings (launcher, display, and accessibility) and have tried auto rotate apps but auto rotate just won't work. The tablet is stuck in landscape unless I use an app to force portrait mode (but then have to manually force landscape when I want it to change it back). Auto rotate will just not function properly. It works fine btw in CM7.2. The second issue is that the volume keys will not work. No problem with this on the other two NC's just this one. Similar to the auto rotate issue, volume keys work fine in CM7.2. If I'm stuck w/ CM7.2 that's not that big of a deal. but was just hoping someone out there could help me troubleshoot it. It seems odd that two of the three NC's work without issue. Could the cause of the problems potentially be a hardware version issue? The troubled tablet is the oldest one.
Well again thanks for any help in advance. If you don't have a fix and haven't encountered the same/similar issue, any thoughts as to what the underlying issue could be that is causing the auto rotate and volume key problems would be greatly appreciated.

force landscape view

I just got a hold of a mytouch 3g with a defective accelerometer (due to water damage) and wont adjust orientation according to the way im holding the phone. its stuck in portrait view all the time and was wondering if there's a means to:
A. Toggle between landscape and portrait mode (with an app)
B. Emulate the accelerometer to report the necessary values to keep the phone in landscape mode, so i can simply toggle rotate to switch between the modes
C. Re-calibrate the accelerometer in such a manner to keep the phone in landscape mode and toggle rotate setting when needed.
Iv done some searching in regards to the matter. I have not come across any (usefull) apps that will manually rotate modes, nor have i found any workarounds. I have CM 6.1 rc1 installed on the phone. Id be grateful for any help. Thanks.
EDIT:
the phone is out of warranty, and iv trouble shot the accelerometer fully (cleared settings via recovery bla bla)
Hi
i have the same problem - have you found anything to solve it.
Thanks

[Q] Nexus 10 accelerometer problem

Hi,
I've got a problem with the accelerometer of my nexus 10, when I'm in automatic rotation mode the devise doesn't rotate automatiquely when I rotate it. And when an application force the portrait mode I have to desactivate the automatic rotation mode to go back in landscape mode.
Thanks in advance
Cyril
I believe GPS Status & Toolbox can re-calibrate the accelerometer (along with Compass, and get AGPS data), might be worth looking into
Fixed my screen orientation problem.
I spent a good four hours or so trying to figure out why my screen orientation wasn't working properly even after a reboot and boot into safe mode. I could only get one portrait with buttons on bottom and had to rotate an extra 30 degrees or less than 1 degree to cause it to flip between landscape orientations. Loaded up Google Skymaps and the Horizon was off by about 30 degrees in landscape, but fine in portrait. First went and downloaded Android Sensor Box and found the X-axis would run up to +15.5 and only -3.7. Anyways the calibration reset in GPS Status & Tool Box 4.0.1 fixed it immediately.
Awesome call on that program espionage724 would have never found it if I didn't find this thread and your post.
Edit it came back although a combination of running the program and hitting the lock button seemed to fix it. This time the axis offset was reversed though. Probably an operating system bug and only seemed to come back after I attached an OTG USB cable so =/ ?
Same problem here
I have the same problem with a new Nexus 10. The rotation did not work in any application at any time. With the Sensor Toolbox, I see that the sensor is working to some extend. Recalibrating with the GPS Status did not change anything.
Is this a hardware defect, so that I should send mine back to Google?
If you happen to get the orientation working, I'd be happy if you share it with me.

Screen rotation malfunction on KitKat 4.4.2

Hi all,
after the upgrade to KitKat 4.4.2 I'm having some problem such as application root permission loss (AdAware) and, the most boring, screen rotation malfunction.
Some weeks ago, it started blocking the screen in portrait and the accelerometer stop working. It was possible to rotate to landscape the screen only with specific screen rotation apps or via games that set the rotation by their self. Any reboot didn't solve the issue but "magically" every malfunction disappeared after some days of sickness ! LOL
Some days ago the problem back on my Nexus but with some variations. I turn on the tablet and the screen keep in portrait and after some minutes it turn to landscape automatically. No way to restore it to portrait except with a reboot, any other third part application can only turn the screen to reverse portrait or landscape or reverse landscape!
Any ideas about this pain in the back?
Thanx

[Q] gyroscope problem?

Rencently, the auto rotation stops working sometimes. I found this when viewing photos from Gallery app( stock) when switching between vertical and landscape photos. I turned on Screen rotation already. But it won't rotate. I thought it's hardware problem but a reboot solved the problem.
It's really annoying when I play racing games and use gyroscope as control. The car just keep spinning! Again, a reboot solved the problem. But it will come back always. I still can't decide whether it's a software or hardware problem? Os is stock 4.4.2 xxUenb1.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy note 3 LTE SM-N9005 Accelerometer/Gyroscope/Screen rotation

I noticed the auto screen rotation does not work well at all. If I turn the auto rotate on, the screen is stuck in the landscape orientation and never returns to portrait. This is very annoying and I have turn off auto rotate, but then this is again annoying when watching videos and playing games. Then I tried to search for some topics online. It seems that there are some others reporting the similar issue for other devices running Android 4.4.2(but not galaxy note 3). I do not know my problem is prevalent, it is a hardware or software (firmware) issue. Also, the accelerometer works for first hour or so after rebooting, but then freezes. Please help urgently.
