How to install Custom Roms/Kernel in my LG L5 E612? - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The steps involved seemed to be the following if I'm not wrong:
Root Phone - Done
Unlock Bootloader - Failed
Flash Baseband
Install CWM
Install Custom Rom
Unlock Bootloader Failure
I have followed this tutorial: lg-phones.org/unlock-bootloader-on-lg-optimus-l5-e610e612e615.html and followed the exact procedures written for the E612. I ended up having a very frustrating problem - my phone kept on rebooting a minute after boot. This led to hours of searching for solutions. Luckily, I found a solution: hackmyandroid .com/clockworkmod-cwm-touch-recovery-for-lg-optimus-l5/4073#comment-2764
PS: Remove spaces in the URL. I'm unfortunately not allowed to post outgoing links.
Here are some information that might be needed:
Software Version: LG-E612-V10H-DEC-24-2012
Build Number: IML74K
Kernel Version: 3.0.8-perf
Baseband Version:
MSM7225A-1-AA
Android Version: 4.0.3
I would very much appreciate help. Thanks.

Problems After Downgrade

I flashed a GB full sbf mistakenly while testing out an early build of CM9 on my green lens defy, I then followed the downgrade method listed here I forgot to wipe the cache before flashing the downgrade rom mentioned in the first step and after flashing the downgrade rom was left with no functioning google apps. I tried using the terminal emulator to install clockworkmod but am unable to enable read write because I can't type numbers. The phone rooted fine and I have tried wiping in the stock recovery several times and have also reflashed the downgrade rom several times to no avail. I was able to successfuly flash one of the 2.34 chinese roms and boot and root it fine but after flashing the downgrade rom experianced the same issue.

I am perfectly alright with a working 2.2 or anything with green lens camera support but I have been unsuccessful thus far, any help is greatly appreciated

[Q] baseband question(s)

Hey guys,
would-be first time rooter here. Couple of questions. Sorry if they answered somewhere, could not find where. Basebands and kernels are not covered for dummies in any guide.
1. My phone is X8, E15i, baseband M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006, kernel 2.6.29, build version 2.0.1.A.0.47, 2.1-update1. PC companion does not want to update it any further and since in every rooting guide is stated i need the last version, i am not sure what to do. Here is stated that the last version is 2.0.2.A.0.24. But nowhere it's said if I would have to have in installed already or the flashing process does it for me. So do I just download Baseband 006 - kernel 2.0.2.A.0.24 and use it with flashtool?
2. Is 015 better / newer version than 006? Lots of custom stuff requires 015. Lots of threads refer to 015 as to the latest baseband and from what I've read if I flash 015 over a 006 device I will brick it or infinite loop it. Does this mean I am stuck forever with the 006 and cannot use GingerDX for example?
General explanation of basebands / kernel stuff will be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks in advance.
don
You need xxx015 baseband to run custom ROMS correctly. Download the latest firmware, unpack it to firmwares folder inside Flashtool installation folder (default C:/flashtool). Flash it and you should get newest baseband. This will erase all your data so, make a backup of important stuff. Then use toolbox to root your phone and obtain recoveries. Then pick your favorite ROM, unlock bootloader (if you don't worry about warranty, but read guides in general and android development section to avoid hard brick) flash required kernel and have fun If you have problem with bootloops perform a full-wipe in recovery.
To enter xRecovery tap back button repeatedly on Sony Ericsson's logo.
To enter ClockworkMod tap the screen. On custom kernels tap back button.

Root Defy+ Android 2.3.6

So yeah, I tried rooting my Defy+ but it failed in every try I did:
First I tried the tutorial on the CM Forum (for installing CM7) but it didn't work.
Second I tried SuperOneKlick and similar tools but all failed.
Third I searched in Google very much but only found ways with Flashing the ROM.
My problem now is:
1. I don't want to flash another ROM
2. I wan't to root my Phone for apps e.g. AdBlocker
My Versions and Numbers:
System Version: 45.0.2310.MB526.Retail.en.DE
Baseband Version: EPU93_U_00.60.03
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-ge281 b6e [email protected] #1
Build Number: 4.5.1-134_DFP-231
(dunno what you need or not)
So is there any way that I may have overseen to root my Defy+? (Without flashing a different ROM?)
just here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956&highlight=root+231
Edit: Only way is to flash them 2 roms as you have chosen the 231 version which is the latest one with no downgrades so you have to only use that version or higher (when it comes out)
Try this stock rooted rom.Just flash it via rsd lite!
I send the download link because i cant post link directly!
maybe to add im not that advanced^^ have no idea what you are talking about
can i also directly flash CM7 via rsdlite?
ok i tried to flash those thingys but rsd lite was unable to open these things saying me invalid filetype
what are you trying to flash? if you are using the link I sent you use the CEE versions (second one) As the CN one you have to flash 3 files instead or the 2 on the CEE one.
I have flashed that may times and it always works you might have to extract the .SBF file out of the zip folder. The RSD lite I have will do it for you but not sure if the older versions do.

[Q] VS980 24a to 28a

CyanogenMod version: 11-20141113-SNAPSHOT-M12-vs980
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband Version: VS98024A-M8974A-AAAANAZM-2.0.20046
Kernel version: 3.4.0-perf-gb1753b0
Build number: cm_vs980-userbug 4.4.4 KTU84Q55046df04c
I have been reading the development forum in and out for the last week and maybe I am getting a bit overwhelmed. I have not touched the OS on the phone since installing CM 11 5 months ago. I am getting a G4 and going to give my wife this G2, but the Camera on this CM11 build is......crap...so....
My question is this, how do I go about "removing fastboot" so I can get into download mode and return the device to stock?
I would be using this to return to stock (KDZ/TOT) then update the bootstack to 26A then 28A http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...s980-resources-bootstacks-unofficial-t3050777
then simply follow this to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515978 ... so I can then install XDABBEB's VS982.5 v1.2.0?
I used this method to install the drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53313255&postcount=5400 and I can change COM and it recognizes just fine....
I read through this post to "remove fastboot" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 but from what I can tell, everyone is simply either stuck in download mode or wondering where their device (vs980) LAF file is and how they get it....
I have adb/fastboot tool sets for the cmd prompt ready on my windows box, but can I use the LAF that is included in the 24A flashable boostack zip here http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...s980-resources-bootstacks-unofficial-t3050777
I apologize if this topic has probably been covered 500 times, but I suppose I am confused/lost once I realized my phone would not go into download mode........help?

How do I root / update my Huawei Ascend G7-L01?

Hello there! I have been trying to find a working root / update for my model for quite a while now but I cannot
find anything that would work with my model... The numbers are always different from those that uploaders say
it works on. Can you help me root my phone and find a working update since there was no official update for my
country (Slovenia) for Lollipop. It can be a custom ROM too, I don' care as long as it will run faster than current version
which is preinstalled with a lot of crap and runs slow.
Here are the details: (let me know if you need anything else)
Model number: G7-L01
Android version: 4.4.4
EMUI version: 3.0
Baseband version: 11060009
Build number: G7-L01V100R001C00B263
Custom version: CUSTC432D001
Thank you for your time!
You can try with Kingo Root, I used it and my G7-L01 now are rooted.
Good luck

kingroot.apk
Hello Dave, I have done this a week ago. I summarize the steps you must take.
Prepare your phone to interact with the upgrade tools: you must enable developer mode in the phone and enable usb debugging. it’s easy, do a search in google to find the specific actions (I can’t post url’s there yet)
Dowload and install in your pc the tools for doing the job: you need two tools for doing the work, adb and fastboot, both come with android studio so you can download it to have the tools. If you are using Linux probably you can also install them from your package manager without having to install the full android studio.
Download your ROM and recovery: the recovery is some kind of rescue OS from where to boot the system and apply later the ROM, I have used as recovery the Recovery TWRP that is referred in a post called ‘[ROM][5.1.1][Unofficially | CM12.1 For Huawei Ascend G760] [2016-01-16]’. As ROM I have used the more recent in those referred in the ‘[ROM][6.0.1][Unofficially | CM13.0 For Huawei Ascend G760] [2016-04-01]’ post.
Download gapps: probably you can’t live without google apps (play store, etc) so download the suitable version from opengapps dot org.
Save your data: you are about to lose your data so make a copy of all data that is not saved automatically in the cloud.
Apply recovery: the fun starts, open a shell with root (or admin in Windows, I suppose), connect the phone to the pc with an usb cable, give permissions in the phone to the pc when it asks about it. Reboot the phone in boot mode with ‘adb reboot bootloader’, apply the recovery image with ‘fastboot flash recovery twrp-xxxxxxxx.img’, reboot in recovery mode mode with ‘adb reboot recovery’
Apply rom and gapps: transfer the rom and gapps to the phone with ‘adb push cm-13.0-xxxx.zip /sdcard/’ and ‘adb push open_gapps-arm-6.0-xxxxx.zip /sdcard/’, in the phone do a wipe->factory reset, and after that do an install from the main menu. Install first the cm-13.0 ROM and later the open_gapps. Those will take some time, when finish reboot the phone from the main screen
Boot and configure: if all has gone ok the phone will boot, configure apps and later you have some time configuring it and restoring the data
Seems easy, but what is easy is doing something wrong or forgetting something and ending with a bricked phone. So if your life depends on that phone or you are not sure to have the skills to troubleshoot things when going wrong better stay were you are now
Good luck
