hey all
i finally got my GREAT black S4 which i rly like but i have 1 poit to ask about
can i leave it charging while iam sleeping or this might damage the battery(as it will keep charging after 100%)?
thanks in advance
You certainly can. However it's not recommended. But the s4 battery can be replaced. So no worries!

I somewhat recently got an AT&T Galaxy S4 and it was working great, until I went to charge it. It seems that most of the time, when I plug my phone in to charge at night, it stops charging after about 10 minutes. I am already asleep by this time so when I wake up, I'll have like 40% battery left.
I have tried different chargers, cables, sockets, just not a new battery.
Any tips to try before buying a new battery to test? Also, what's a good slim battery for a general user?

Personally I think you should call it in to get it replaced. See my thread here:

I was hoping I wouldn't have to switch it. Oh well, as long as it works. Thanks!

Yeah... well i mean it may not be the same issue I had but it's better safe than sorry, you know? The warranty is still valid, so might as well take advantage of it.
But in your case, at least it's charging and you're maintaining some sort of usable phone. Mine was dead for 2 whole days.
I would go ahead and call today because they ship Next Business Day. Meaning you'd get it tomorrow (if it's not too late). I had to wait 2 days because of the 4th of July.
Hi,
Recently I purchased galaxy s4. Initially I charged my phone with galaxy grands's charger for a couple of days ( As the charger look alike I thought both chargers are same ) . My battery used to drain very fast. However when I discover that s4's charger is high powered..I switched to it. There is a slight improvement in battery backup but I am not receiving the actual backup. What should I do ? Should I calibrate my battery. If so, what is the procedure?
Thanks
Some battery data would help. Numbers, please.

Hi all,
I have a Samsung s4 GT i9505 and when i leave it for charge the charger gets very very hot and im not sure on what to do. I only bought the phone yesterday ( 22/07/14) so it was only my first night with it. I decided to switch off the phone and leave it on charge, but that made no difference. I installed all the OTA updates yesterday as well.
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks

I have the same problem with my s4. I guess it is normal for a samsung devices, because I heard from other people having this problem on a s3 or s2
Same here, as long as it doesnt shut down its np, the charger for s4 provides 2A which makes it warm while charging

It is not a problem. The battery gets warmer because samsung charger gives more "juice" than most other chargers. The battery needs more power to charge because the phone uses it more, so the battery heats up more. Also, it charges faster...
The higher the charger current (2A), the faster the charge rate, but also, more heat!
Guys my charger isnt a 2A charger, I got a 1A travel adaptor.
Input 100-240V 50-60Hz 0.15A
Output 5.0V 1.0A
But it runs incredibly hot when i leave it for a charge.
So I just got a Edge + (Gold 32GB btw hehe xd) and I don't know If I should use the samsung wireless charger.
I'm afraid that it will addict my battery since sometimes I will take it off the charger and put it back on, is that bad for the battery?

I flip flop between rapid charge and wireless, the wireless charger I use at night the fast charger I use when I need a quick fix.... Honestly with this phone it lasts me all my work day and then some giving me 16+ hours with just one charge and that's with 5-7 hours on screen time so and if I feel it's getting short on life within a year I'll make up some excuse for AT&T to give me another one on warranty.

I haven't got a Edge+ yet, but I think it won't be harmful to the battery if you charge your phone before the battery is reduced to 10% and you can take off the charger and put it back on any time you want.
But for sure, if you want your battery kept in perfect condition, you can have your phone powered off while charging up to 100%.

If you have flashed Lollipop recently give it few cycles.
Get a 2A charger for quick charging

Try Snapdragon Batteryguru for Calibration
Freeze apps which you don't use.
Weather Daemon was the culprit in my case when i flashed Lollipop.
Sounds like you have a faulty battery.
