Coming from a Nexus 4 I'm really missing this feature. Does anyone know if it's possible to enable it?
Thanks

after reading here and here, it seems like there isnt more of an answer other than this "settings -> locale and text -> samsung keypad -> check the predictive text (XT9) -> and go to their setting (XT9 advance setting) -> check the spell correction "

Try Google Keyboard in the play store, it is the official keyboard on AOSP and contains Google's text prediction. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.inputmethod.latin

Spell check

If I don't swype then how to check spelling. Especially when using keyboard, which was a selling point got this phone. The cut and paste app is silly. Thanks

Has anyone found a way to add spell check? I would really like it if the spell check could just alert you when there is a misspelled word and not need any additional steps (like copy and paste).
Thanks!
Scott
You can install HTC IME mod and enable built in qwerty correction

Text to speech

Is there anyway I can select text like with the cursor and have an option for my phone to read what I highlighted? There's an option for it on iOS and I was wondering if you could on android somehow but couldn't figure it out if you can.

Nope. I'm pretty sure this feature only works with Google Books.

Handwriting input doesn't work in texting?

I can handwrite (with that bluish ink) in a text conversation, but it just sits there. Doesn't convert like it does in S-Notes.
Any ideas?
I have the same problem, sometimes the samsung keyboard crashes lol
If you go to the play store and search "Samsung note 3 keyboard", update that and it should work!

New Google Apps from Nexus 5 Dump

Droid Life is posting the new google apps that came from a nexus 5 which is, as you know, running android 4.4 . I can confirm the new google launcher works after installing google search and google play. Im pretty sure most others should work fine on the X. Post if working or if not!:good:

So I have installed all of the leaked apps. The only one that did not work is the clock. I've cleared the data on the app but it didn't make a difference. In in the Verizon Moto X. Only other problem is email app is missing the exchange option for me.
Anyone else try these? Any workaround for the clock?
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 4
You need to be rooted and uninstall the clock app and reinstall the leaked apk from what I've read. Android police had a write up on it.

I'm rooted, followed the directions, still couldn't get it to work. No biggie...the clock isn't all that different.
Wish we had the dialer!
Can you install the new launcher without being rooted? Or is that required for all of these leaked apps? Looked like it just said side load them...
I had trouble sending mms with the new hangouts. I'm stock non rooted newest ota

I installed everything without root. An article I saw said to install the playstore, then search, then the launcher.

Yes, you can install new launcher without being rooted. No, you can not install that new clock without root.
Basically you can install everything but clock

wierd does the new email not do exchange?
dont install the new google now if you like your voice activation i get crashes all the time now
Thanks Derek ross for the solution
Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, I choose English – UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search. Repeat the first three steps. Change back to English – US.
also update your language pack in the settings as well.
Is the new dialer included in any of these yet?

Thanks for that tip. It took a couple of tries but TC is working fine with the new search.
Search isn't working on sprint moto x. I keep getting "unfortunately Google search has stopped working"

look at my previous post jeb it tells you how to fix...
I have tried the language fix for search. It will work for about 3-5 searches then start to FC again.

Enable developer mode !

Hi I just found out you can enable developer's mode by going to settings -> general -> about device then tap on the build number until a message pops up.
What I am looking for now is how to hide the developer's mode, any ideas ?
