US Cellular gs4 development? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is any development planned for the usc s4? Like basic root and recovery and stuff. I am wondering because they have LTE where I live and offer unlimited data in their LTE markets.

HSPA+ on GT-N7000. T-Mobile refarming?

It may be a miracle. I was using the International Samsung Galaxy Note and was only receiving edge on T-Mobile. I learned why this was and hoped it would change. About three nights ago exactly I was trying to use my data which was edge which did not work at all. I was not sure why. Then the following night I was at a dinner party in Cougar Mountain Drive which is in the Bellevue area. All of a sudden I turned on my data and guess what I saw. A big H+ staring me back in the face. I was so overjoyed I could not even begin to explain. But alas, I could not longer see the H+ when I returned home in the Seattle Area. Is T-Mobile finally refarming? We can all hope can't we? What do you guys think?
Probably Tmo rolling out 4G in select areas.
You can always apply the Tmo radio to get 4G

that's only with the at&t version. I believe OP was referring to T-mobile expanding their network bands to the ones used by at&t

That's awesome advice....not. Are you trying to get him to brick his phone?
This is an N7000.
T-Mobile has been working on standing up the 1900 frequency, which is the same band AT&T uses, and the band included in all international phones. They have been using AWS which is the 1700 band. This is why all new-ish T-mobile phones are pentaband. You must have been in an area that they already converted over. It is supposed to be complete sometime in 2013.
I have a similar story. While visiting in Concord, CA. Downtown where the Old Spaghetti Factory is: I was able to get HSPA+ on my Infuse i997. Looking forward to the refarm taking place all over the usual spots.

Yes. That's my dream is to ruin other devices. Its already been successfully done with the AT&T Note. Do some research.

:| You didn't bother reading the rest of the thread did you? It can only be done on the ATT note because ATT was preparing for their merge wit T-mobile. "Do some research."
Its the same reason that the Skyfire can be flashed to t-mobile.
Post it on airportal.de because it is the only way to track it besides HowardForums.

It's okay to be ignorant but no need for remarks like that. International note and at&t are different.

I now understand its not those models. It was my fault for not realizing. People on this forum are so quick to pounce on someone's mistake. His comment wasn't necessary and neither was mine. Simple.

I understand that T-mobile has re-farmed 1900 MHz for 3G service in the Boston, MA area.
Is this service available to T-Mobile pre-paid PAYG customers? On the $3/day plan?
Is there any requirement for a GBA SIM? Or any newer SIM?
Are there any specialized APN settings?
Any specialized phone settings? "Force" WCDMA 1900 MHz only from the Service Menu?
I have an international un-locked Samsung Galaxy S II (I9100), and a 7 year old T-Mobile pre-paid SIM.
I have been able to use GSM data (2G: GPRS/EDGE) as recently as July, 2012.
My visits are brief so I use the $2/day plan but would like to be able to use 3G.
current reports,
no specific deals with TMO regarding network sharing,
i'd doubt AT&T will lend the networks without a fair price

Buying SG4 in VN

I'm in Vietnam for vacation, the GS4 has been released here already. Was wondering if I buy GS4 here can I later flash different modem like att or tmobile US to use on their network?
My main concerns is LTE on att and tmobile.

Most likely LTE will not work so if thats your main concern just get it in the U.S unless you dont mind being on 3g maybe H+

[Q] Considering to swap an I9500 for a T-mo S4

Hi,
I like my I9500 but I'm really interested in the T-mobile's LTE speeds in my area. So far I can get an HSPA+ (SF market) as most of the market is re-farmed with the 1900Mhz band but I'm not traveling as much as I've used to and I was thinking to switch to the T-mo's S4 for the LTE.
My question is related to ROM upgrades. Does anyone know (or can confirm) that the I9505 builds works on the T-mo's phones as well? In other words, will the SGH-M919 take the I9505 builds? or are there less, more limited builds that needs to be specific to the SGH-M919 phones?
In the past I had my SGS3 from T-mo and I remember that the international versions got all the goodies (such as multi-screen / split-screen) but T-mo never got those upgrades. I don't want to be in the same situation again...
Thanks in advance for your feedbacks
Gil.
Yes they do work, I'm on a I337 using a 9505 Rom

[Q] Does the jfltespr work on tmobile network?

I'm thinking of switching to tmobile, does anyone know if our device will fully work on their network?
Also, does anyone know of any sprint phones I can purchase today that will work fully on their network, even any iphones possible.
There's whole thread on how to unlock the Gs4 for T-Mobile so yes. And search more.

No not fully, you will not get LTE. Sell your Sprint phone on EBay or Craig's list and buy a Tmobile phone for full functionality.

Can I get a Verizon S5 and use it on AT&T?

Can I get a Verizon S5 and put in my AT&T Sim to use it on AT&T?
I think so but you won't have LTE

No you can't. Even with an unlocked sim, it's only for international carriers. Not domestic

Is that only for the S5? Cause other Verizon phones do work on at&t, just no LTE.

While that used to be the case on Verizon's 3G only devices, it's not true with most of Verizon's LTE devices, including the S5. As per their agreement with FCC in order to get some of their LTE spectrum, their devices have to be SIM unlocked, which includes not having any bands locked out at the hardware level (like they used to do on 3G phones that had GSM capabilities to prevent them from being used on domestic GSM carriers). With LTE, since Verizon uses completely different bands than AT&T, it's not a matter of things being locked, but simply of the hardware not being there (which doesn't impact the agreement with the FCC). Verizon phones having the hardware for all of AT&T's LTE bands is rare.
Thanks for the update guys

That sucks. I was hoping for the dev edition to work on AT&T. Hopefully, a Google Play Edition will rear it's head soon.
