Hey guys have just installed taboonay's Rom on my Acer and so far it is not too bad. I am using AOKP on my Galaxy Nexus which is awesome, is there anything similar for the Acer. Also does anyone use Franco's Kernel at all? If not, what is a good one?

With ICS, there is only 1 OC/UV kernel, and that is by EZTerry. With kernels, each is specific to the device&OS, so you really can't swap kernels around. You can find EZTerry's ICS kernel easily in the Dev forum.
AOKP? At one time there were a couple folks tried doing a Kang but they were using a non-GPL kernel, so they were not allowed to post here.

I'm using the tab 2 10.1 wifi only model. Is there a jb tw rom that can flash ktoonez kernal?
Any rom recommendations as well?
thanks in advance
Do your research, because this kernel you mention is only for SGS3 , this would have to be built for a tablet os.
Kernels are very device specific. You can't flash any kernel. If it's not in the Tab 2 development section you can't use it on your tab.

I have installed a cm7 ROM in my galaxy y. My friend told me to install the cm9 one. What is the difference between the two??
& is Cm9 ROM stable for galaxy y?? (someone scared me by saying that it is unstable & not good for y)

No. CM9 isn't stable for now because lacking of drivers.

cm7 is based on gingerbread (2.3)
cm9 is based on ics (4.0)
cm10 is based on jb (4.1)
as luqman98 said cm9 is not stable for our y
aokp is one of my favorite roms I only used it when I had my galaxy s3..i have the s4 now. im rooted and I have tried almost every build (4.3 and 4.2) available and my phone always randomly reboots but with Cyanogenmod or Slim or PACman everything is perfect....any ideas on what could be causing this? I am sticking with CM because it gets more updates and its more stable but would really love to have AOKP back

Have you tried a different kernel other than the default one?

No I have never flashed a kernel myself always have used the one the rom comes with? I'm not too familiar with kernels and don't really even know what exactly they do and which one would work for my model
Are they still going the CAF route? Or is that ending since it mainly had to do with freezes (if I recall) in 4.3?
It's going to affect my decision to go back to 10.1. I really want to have touch2wake on my kernel and these fixes to make faux and franco kernels function are starting to cause issues on 10.2.
AFAIK, these developers will not be supporting CAF =/

freezes on 4.3 was due to bug in aosp jss code, witch have been fixed in 4.3.1. so update to lastest cm.
and in 4.4 they will continue.
Yeah, I'm running the stable release of 10.2 with ziddley's franco kernel and it's causing issues here and there now. I was hoping they were going to revert back to AOSP. I guess I'll revert back to 10.1 to maintain my desired functionality for now.

Yeah, unless there's some way to get touch2wake working on 10.2; I heard you have gamma settings now with the caf kernel included so I figure I can maintain my color scheme.

try with other kernels.
On CM11 and Cm10.2 try these: 1) Modified franco and faux to work on Cm : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487246
2) AK has CM exclusive kernel : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2473454

You can always follow a tutorial to build your own cm from source code and enable module support. In that way you won't be using custom kernels, everything will be cm 100%.
I am using touchcontrol in that way, and I'm quite happy with the results.

CM11 is great with hells-core. Touch control works, and battery/performance is amazing.
