Hey guys.
Yesterday I mounted a Sony XAV 601bt on my car. How name says,it has bluetooth: I connected my phone and tried to cal trough vivavoice and it runs perfectly. During call I can swtich to phone, but how about if I wanna directly answer by phone??
Maybe I can receive a call like "hey love!" When I'm with friends/parents/colleagues/etc. And I'd like to cover my privacy.
In my friend car, with iphone and stock fiat autoradio, he can answer by phone answering by phone xD (I mean slinding on phone display, instead press on car display): why doesn't it work on S4? It depends by phone or?

Anyone managed to get music from the desire hd working over an Audi bluetooth car kit? I've tried BT Mono but that doesn't work, I think its something to do with A2DP and audi not supporting that???
Wondering if anyone has any information or has got it working.
Thanks
Kevin

Ftw, I have an S5 and dhd I've got the 2g b&o mmi from 08 Australian delivered s5, however I haven't been able to get sound to play apart from usual phone calls either. I have the Ross-tech cable to enter cars computer and accessed fault logs but can't see anything relating to any audio faults. Sorry. Will look into it more but would help to know your setup

I think it has something to do with Audi because I have no issues running music through bluetooth in my car. When you connect your bluetooth to the car audio, does it says headset and music connected?

No, when I turn Bluetooth on the logo at the top changes slightly just to let me know its connected and I can access phone book etc. But the radio.still plays, the second a phone call comes through the radio drops and the phone rings. When Finished with call the radio starts again. If I play music nothing happens don't hear any sound and it doesn't stop the radio.
I read that Audi doesn't support music playback without an update and adapter although they don't seem to sell them.
Btw my setup is just the Audi a4 sline 2010 default, Bluetooth built in and built in radio etc.

Ok.. Usually when I connect to bluetooth, first it will say connect to phone and then connect to media.. there's one thing that I forgot to tell is that I have to go to Bluetooth in the Main menu than I am able to hear the songs from the phone. Without going to my Bluetooth Selection from the Menu I am not able to hear any songs.. Hope this helps..

But what version of mmi and where in the world are you? Different countries get different default options installed! Also depends on what modules are enabled inside the computer. Some of these settings can be changed by accessing a hidden menu from your console others might need to be changed using the Ross-tech cable I mentioned earlier. If you need more help on version info etc do a search on the A5oc forums.

Which rom is your dev? BT is broken in some rom. you can flash the right rom.
I'm in the UK, the rom I use is cm7.0.2 so the latest one. I'd be interested in finding a Bluetooth menu or hidden menu on the computer??
Ill have a look later for the version info as I don't know.

Fair enough, the hidden menu depends on version of mmi either the 2g or 3g but you press both car and setup together for 5 seconds. WARNING do not enter the bootloader menu. And there are heaps of how-to's available online. Many things are customizable. Lighting behaviour through to enabling of tv on the go if you have that option. Auto folding mirrors, different dash menu options, how many wipes the wipes do etc, list is not quite endless but almost, needless to say I've done most and can provide links etc if you are interested. Pm me.

Oh... If I am not mistaken Cyanogen do have issues with Music over Bluetooth. I have the same issue.. Have you tried with other Roms?
Yes I have, it doesn't even try to be honest... only time the connection from phone to car is made is when a call comes in.
hi
i would like to use my asus transformer as a hand free bluetooth handset
i paired my tablet with my phone, but it always said 'paired, but not connected'
i can use a app to do file transfer between my phone and the TR so i know that the two can work together
i just want to receive my phone call on my transformer..
someone can help me ?
thanks
this has been a common quesiton. from what we've seen, there is an app called syncsms to get your messages. As for taking calls, you probably would need to use google voice and forward your calls to the google voice number...
thanks....
Im getting ready to buy a new car. In my current car I have a kenwood single din slide out DVD/NAV unit. Frankly im sick of it.
In the new car (Mazda RX-8) im planning on doing a tablet on the dash. I already have all the technical stuff for that part of the install sussed out.
A cannabalized dock for the power and the audio, after market double din dash kit, Custom built (already sorted) swivel mount in the top din, head unit in the lower din for the audio pass through with an adapter for the steering wheel controls.
What Im stuck on, after much searching, is the software. What im looking for specifically is software to let me link my phone over BT so the when I get a call the tablet displays the info and can be used as a handsfree jobby. would be nice if it could also pass data as well but im not greedy.
It may be easier to use a BT adapter for the head unit itself if such software doesn't exist or isnt possible, and then just use the wifi tether for the data on the tablet for nav and such.
Any help or ideas would be SUPER appreciated.

The caller ID works very good but you can not answer the call from your tablet. If you want full phone service in your tablet ( answer and place calls) u can use groove ip assuming that u can give data connection to your tablet from your phone and u have a google number after that u just need forwarding your primary number at your google number and u are ready... sounds difficult but believe me, its very easy... I use this every single day and do not take more of 30 sec
Man I lucked out with sprint, google voice and groove IP, is all I need since my my phone is integrated.

I havent actually started any install as of yet. Still waiting on the car.
Funny story. I went to test drive the RX-8 today. It went LESS than stellar.
The car broke down three times in traffic. I got it back to the lot and the salesman still tried to sell it to me. I said get it working and Ill test drive it again...and MAYBE I might think about it. best salesman quote: "Its an automatic, it cant stall.
When I do get the new car next couple weeks/month I will keep you guys updated on the install. Im pretty sure im going to go with the headunit BT.
Can't wait to see it, I like the idea I might opt for kindle fire to mine in my car depending on how stable those devs get it.

you know, I never really considered replacing my radio with a tablet, though I thought of several different ways to mount it separately. I wasn't satisfied with any of my ideas so I'll be checking to see how this one goes. Good luck and take lots of notes and pics.
what is a good way to mount this in a car??
post pics when you get it finished I'd love to see how it came out.

Hello folks, first thank you for helping me with this one or if not, thanks for reading anyway.
I was wondering if there was a way to use my Nexus 7, in conjunction with my ancient sliderphones Bluetooth, to use the the tablet as a handset? I.E. keep my ancient obsolete sliderphone in my pants and dial and answer phonecalls on my tablet perhaps with an added bluetooth mic?
I tried searching to no avail but perhaps I wasn't using the correct search terms.
Thanks.
try tablet talk dunno if it will work with your old phone tho
Thank you for the reply. The feature notes states an Android phone which I do not have. Oh well, thanks though.
you can always try you have 15 minutes to get your money back after buying an app from the market place
Dont know but you can make phone calls for free on the Nexus 7 with talkatone
TalkaTone
Just upgraded from the Nexus Slow 4G. Loving the new phone. First question/problem I have is the Bluetooth connection to my car (Chevy Sonic). I paired it with the MyLink system in the car just like I did with my Nexus. If I activate the MyLink and say "Voice" it is supposed to connect to the phone where you can say something like "Call so and so". The problem is when I activate the MyLink it opens up S Voice on the phone and then disconnects from the phone. A little research showed me I can disable S Voice, fine with me as I am used to using Google Now, and it loads the default app that allows you to tell it to dial. Although this works it sounds clunky compared to the Nexus. The Nexus would simply say "Speak now" and allow you to say a command. With the S 4 I gat something saying "Please say the number you want to dial" or something like that. Is there an app that would work better than this??
The other question I have is no biggie. I noticed when I plug in the phone it makes a sound. Is there anyway to change that one sound?
Thanks.
