What would happen if I clashed the bone stock rooted ROM with gplay onto my nook with cyanboot. Would it get wiped?

Maybe you have some typos, but I'm not sure I am understanding. By clashing do you mean flashing? And by cyanoboot do you mean clockworkmod recovery?

If she wants to update and since the tablet is already rooted why not throw a recovery on it (if its not) and flash a custom ICS rom and give the better then stock performance?
But, what is your problem? When you do a OTA update, ull just loose ur root. Also, as said above, u should try a custom ROM, coz some of them are really much better than stock(like FLEXREAPER).
If you put Cyanogenmod there is a setting to disable root for apps and/or adb
Check this thread, might be an easy way for you.

So download Iconia root, install and run if you're on pre 3.2... Gives you the option to unroot...

This is about 3 builds back from ICS. Install the stock rom in CWM recovery and will put you back to complete stock. Then do the updates.

I'm wanting to install a uot .zip and mod my battery icon but i can't figure out how to install the .zip. On the home screen of safestrap recovery there is an install button but it appears inactive.
I'm rooted but with locked bootloader.

Make a new ROM slot. Go to boot options, slot 1, follow the walkthrough, then install the zip

Then do i delete the original rom slot?

Apologies if I didnt find it after searching but:
I was looking to get stock recovery back onto the S4. I know I can Odin back to stock but being that my phone is already set up it would be nice to just flash stock back and be happy
Thanks!

I'd you're wanting to remain rooted, then you will need a custom recovery.

Every rot method I've seen requires installing a custom recovery. Either twrp or cwm.

So, you want a recovery that has no abilities? No backups. .. no restores. ... reinstall motochopper then.

It's possible to extract the stock recovery from the Odin image and flash it independently. Check it out in this post. Be warned that it's only for AT&T S4's and it's possible to brick your device pretty badly if you flash the recovery to the wrong place.

yes, you will have to use the odin, and then root again. unless you're running a custom rom, then you will have to full wipe your device.
I flashed twrp on my Verizon LGG2. I was just wondering, since I have to have the standard recovery to get OTA updates(hopefully next one is Kit Kat), does anyone know where I can find it for my phone?
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk 2
You will get kitkat much faster from the developers than you will an ota

Not sure, but I was wondering about this also. I think I'm just going to go back to stock when we get 4.4.

load the factory image using the LG tool. this will put you back to original stock, of course it will wipe your phone.
just an FYI, taking an OTA could possibly remove the ability to root your phone in the future. SO make sure that is really what you want.
I also have a similar question involving CWM. At the moment I have TWRP as my recovery (used flashify to install it), however I would prefer to use CWM. If I flash CWM via flashify, will it replace TWRP?

Sup guys, currently running running OctOs. Looking to head back to stock. Can any one be kind enough to provide me the correct tar file (link) so I can make that happen. Think I downloaded the wrong on.
