I've done a bit of googling but didn't find anything.
Is there a way to convert hundreds of MP3 ringtones so they auto-repeat in Android? Currently, they play once and stop. There are ways to convert them individually, one by one. But I need a way to batch edit this process.

A Workaround
Hi all,
I also tried to find a fix for this, but with no success.
So I went the other way around and made a .vbs script (to be run on the PC) to change the modified date of files in a descending order.
The script takes the current folder and modifies all found files sorted by filename (regardless of extension).
It asks if you want to process subfolders also.
You can extract the D.vbs to the folder you want processed and run it from there.
Please be carefull not to run the script from a root drive folder, as it will crash when it encounters a system folder ("System Volume Information" for example).
Also, as it takes the current date, and goes backwards, the theoretical maximum of files is around 733500 files.
I do not have that many files, so if anyone tries it with more than that, please let me know if it works
It can take some time if run on a flash card, so please be patient and wait for the Finished dialog.
If the modified date of files is not important to you (creation date, accessed date and all EXIF attributes are NOT changed), and you don't mind if the date goes backward for tens or maybe even hundreds of years, you can give it a try.
Have fun

DISCLAIMER
This script is AS-IS, ALWAYS make a backup of all the files you are gonna modify, I didn't lose any files, but it doesn't mean it can't happen to you.
works!
Thanks for idea and your work!
It helped me a lot, I went the same way as you, but found no such command for batch file to change the datetime. Ha!
Perfect! That worked for me too

Kinda old to post isnt it?
Nice script.
It changes the date of files in a descending order. Is it possible to modify the script so the dates changes in a ascending order?
Moved over to general...
So I got some fun startup sounds, and some nice gifs I wanna try for the opening splashes, but researching the matter on these forums, I can only find a registry edit to disable the tmobile splash and sound.
I tried redirecting the registry entry to a new wav file in \windows... Nothing.
Looking further, it looks like it will only play a _specific_ file. I tried changing the name of the file (so I could replace it with my cool sounds), but I think it's a ROM file...
I'm guessing this means I can't customize the startup animations / sounds without flashing the ROM*... Can anyone verify this --is there maybe another registry entry where I can change things?
*I know, ROM flashing = better, cooler, faster --I'm just waiting to get my new phone before I go flashing the ROM on this one.

i was wondering is it possible to do so because ihavent been able to find away to do it noir have i found anything on google that talks about it been trying get help with this all night someone plzzzzzz HELP! i dont want to go back to winmo just because i cant have text msg ringtones....
What I did to change mine was,
1 convert the file to .wma format
2 rename the file to Alert-05 (or 01 ,02 etc) (it needs to be Alert-## otherwise it won't be found it settings)
3 copy it to the windows directory using touchXplorer
4 select it using settings ...
there must be a better way but it worked for me, hope it works for you.
As neilarmes said.
Think that this is the only way to get custom alert tones and does work for custom ringtones as well. You have to bear in mind that when you rename the .wma file and move it using touchXplorer, it will overwrite an existing WP7 alert tone as you I don't think you can add extra tones.
Using the above method you can however add mp3 files to your ringtones folder to have custom ringtones. Would just advise not to have too much music synced to your device as the file names in the Zune folder don't immediately lead you to the file you're after.

Note about ringtones...all ended up doing is copying my custom ring tones (in mp3 format) using Zune as if they were music transfers. After syncing, go into the My Documents\Zune folder, I believe, and using TouchXplorer copy your ringtones to the My Documents\My Ringtones folder. After some lag in time, your customer ringtones will appear in your selection list. No conversion to WMA needed for ringtones.
As for the SMS sounds, I was about to try converting my mp3 notification files into WMA then renaming it Alert-11 through whatever, the copying it to the \Windows directory. Alert-01 thru 10 are already present. Going to see if naming the file other than Alert-xx.wma will work as well.
How do make the tones useable on the text messages and other notifications. Thanks

I jsut tried "Alert-VM" and "Alert-TXT" but no dice. Also tried Alert-11 and Alert-12 to no avail. Time to rename the default guys and overwrite w/ the new ones!
Hello!
Every time I'm copying Video files or sometimes music files and what not, I'll get a warning that the file might not play correctly on my device. How can I disable those warnings?
Thanks in advance

I wanted to share with you an extremely basic and simple console application I created that has been pretty handy for myself. Its simple, it will combine mp3 files (audio) into one single file. This can be useful when creating a playlist, so instead of dealing with several files, each with only one song, you can put all your favorite songs into a single file which will play non-stop just as a playlist would.
INSTRUCTIONS
Not hard at all...
1. Unpack the zip file
2. Place all your mp3 files into the folder that you want to combine
3. Run MP3Join.exe and that's it!
4. There are no options or interface, it will simply execute in seconds and then spit the new file into the same folder with a name "joined.mp3"
5. None of the original files will be deleted, replaced, or altered at all so no worries about any risk to those.
That's it, I hope you enjoy. Sometimes simple is useful so don't let that keep you from trying it
