The only S4 I can find on Craigslist is a Tmobile version.. Seems like it doesn't have a problem with LTE after a few easy steps..
My question is, Am I able to flash AT&T Roms on the T-Mobile phone?
yes you can, but only custom roms, becouse its download mode is secure, so you have to do it through CWM RECOVERY, and you have to open the custom rom with winrar and see if theres a modem.bin file, if there is, remove it, thats all, then just flash
Thank you!

Also stock based roms?
t-mobile model on at&t ... is it easy?
I plan on purchasing a t-mobile S4 outright and having them SIM unlock. How difficult is it (for a relative noob) to put an AT&T ROM on it? Also, if it's SIM unlocked, will I be able to pop in an AT&T SIM card and go? It'll hook right into AT&T's LTE?
im not sure about AT&T's LTE, but it should be pretty easy, there is a tmobile modem you can flash (older version) so you can unlock, and just use the rom i have in the guide, pretty straight forward...

Just wanted to know if there is any benefit in getting the S4 I9505 when it comes to flashing roms?
It's unlocked so I know that's one good thing but is there any difference from just getting the regular ATT version? Thanks...

Absolutely. The bootloader is unlocked therefore you can flash any kernel (I9505), any roms, modems, firmwares without any worries. However I dont think the I9505 supports at&t's LTE but I may be wrong so dont quote me on that.

Yes you can. BUT ( and this is very important), you need to flash Ktoonez kernel ( from the ATT forum) right before rebooting ( when youre done flashing omega its going to prompt you to reboot, make sure you uncheck reboot to go back to TWRP or CWM and then flash the kernel. We have to do this because the ATT S4 has a locked bootloader and uses a bypass called Loki. We need a Loki'd kernel in order to have roms from the I9505 to work properly on our phones.

Thanks for all the info. So I only need a loki'd kernel for 9505 roms. What about when flashing the I337 roms? The stock kernel dont have to be loki'd considering I already bypassed it when I rooted with Casual loki+motochopper?

Every rom that you flash must be flashed with loki-doki afterwards unless the rom itself is already Loki'd. You'll in each rom thread whether it is loki'd or not. If it is then you're fine just flashing the rom, if it isn't then you must flash loki-doki. Here it is
http://tau.shadowchild.nl/files/loki-doki.zip
Make sure you read the installation for each and every rom and don't hesitate to ask in the thread itself if you're confused

There is a separate thread of Knox(so called bootloader) read it. Do you have custom recovery or stock? which method did you used for rooting? pls specify for further guidance.

Hello, I've installed tons of custom roms on quite a few different devices before, but this is the first one I've owned with a bootloader that can't be unlocked and I'm still kind of confused as to how all of these workarounds function and what ROMs they're compatible with. I've unlocked the phone and am using it on T-Mobile. It's currently on the MLD KitKat leaked version.
This is possibly wrong, but my understanding is that you are currently unable to install custom ROMs like CM and Omni on this device. So would it be possible to at least flash the stock T-Mobile ROM instead of AT&T? Right now, I have no access to hotspot, which is included in my plan, and I'd also like to use WiFi calling if possible. Has this been done before and is it possible on my firmware?
Thanks in advance for any help; it's greatly appreciated.

You can not flash their stock firmware. You can, however, use Safestrap to flash a ROM from their section, which as long as it is based from the stock firmware will have those features.
I have flashed HYPERDRIVE ROM with T-Mobile compatibility pack and works fine ! Even WiFi calling works!

Also, if you havent done so, you might want to enable AWS for further compatibility. You will need to use the stock AT&T TW ROM in order to do so.

Since you're using Safestrap, you can't flash a kernel anyways due to the locked bootloader. You should be able to go ahead and flash that.
Hello XDA, I am new to Android "modding". I've been a long time Apple user and stopped since the iPhone 4S launched. Ever since then I've only had Android phones and loved them however I never had the time to actually "mod" the phones. I used to always Jailbreak my iPhones/Unlock, etc. However, now I want to start theming my Note 3. Specifically I want to apply the Samsung Galaxy S5 theme which are posted in the theme section of the Note 3. The problem is that when I download the .apk and install it, nothing happens. I assume my phone has to be rooted or something? Anyways, if you guys can walk me through this I'd really appreciate it!

Yes KitKat is rootable on SM-N9005. Please keep in mind, it will trigger your knox 0x1. All useful thread would be at note 3 general thread. I only know an easy way for me to get deodexed firmware because i cant find any deodexed stock note 3 prerooted firmware. Use custom roms as custom roms offer deodexed firmware and rooted. So you have to use any custom rom of your choice located at note 3 android development thread.
First, before you do this, you might want to root your devices go to this thread >>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Second, after you rooted your devices dont worry for the warning at your bootloader.

Fourth, Download Custom Roms. Make sure to read their changelog and instruction on how to flash >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development

Sixth, Configure your rom
Seventh, Install the theme.

Q&A for US Cellular Galaxy S5 [SM-G900R4]
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for US Cellular Galaxy S5 [SM-G900R4]. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

Yes, I just updated to stock LP 5.0 via odin and then rooted and flashed custom recovery. I used the CF-auto-root (for G900R4) method on odin and flashed Philz 6.26.2 for custom recovery. Make sure under settings/security you have the "Reactivation Lock" box-unchecked.

It is safe and will root your phone with out issue. Of course you could always just go with the standard "flash recovery in Odin and flash Supersu in recovery". Simple.

Download the latest firmware for our devise. It is a tar.md5 file. Open Odin. Connect your phone. Place the .tar.md5 file in the PDA section. Click start. Done.
Assuming you have Odin and drivers installed correctly.

Are the us cellular links for 5.0 android correct?
Samsung doesn't have an unlocker but seemed to have the rest
Im a newb but from what i noticed upon writing all my phone info down, and correct me if im wrong but it looks to be that if you know your boot loader snd region of world the phone is from you can figure out that Your PdA is exactly the same az your bootloader and
The CSC is identical to pda EXCEPT for the 3 letters after G900R4 _ _ _
Those are your Country of origin or region
I lost my root. Tried using Mobile Odin and checked the everroot. But apparently it did not work. My problem is I want to go back to 4.4.2 stock firmware and I do not have a pc or mac at the moment. Can I use the stock 5.0 recovery to flash back to 4.4.2?
Mine may not be 100% on the authentic side. I just learned that the person who gave it to me got it from a rep at a t-mobile store because an anon customer had left it at the store stating that it had been reported stolen.. and it needs to be unlocked from Us Cellular

Hello,
Id like to give a big thank you to all the developers/contributors that put together the rooting instructions in the developer section
A few days ago i successfully rooted my smg900r4!
it was very simple, and quick process using the instructions in the developer thread.
Using cf auto, super su, and odin. And Kies as backup
I will notate i had a little hiccup in the process.
It was a file type conflict regarding the samsung usb driver download zip being set to open in windows 8 and the desktop i used that was running windows 10.
Once i realized what the issue was a coulple setting adjustmemts later and i was done!
And as stated its rock solid stable
I am on stock rom etc.
I have installed the following apps and granted root access to them
- Apps2Sd (this is a very excellent multi function application !
- Busybox on rails
- App Manager iii (i had this installed prior to rooting the device.)
- Wifi Connection Manager
Couple questions;
Since ive installed the multi function Apps2SD application, is it redundant to keep app manager iii installed?
Are the hidden menus and settings only accessible by using the shortcut app found in playstore?
