Even tried factory reset still my equalizer is broken, proof? tried installing poweramp force closes due to missing files, google play music upon playing any song a notif pops up and says MusicFx stopped working, a stock live wallpaper spectrum(forgot) which is base on equalizer also does force close,
I suspect this all happened when i misinstalled beats for htc when i was suppose to transfer it to my htc,(got a little chatty and carried away)
i tried posting this problem in the help thread due to lack of explanation(my fault), it got ignored(well not really they maybe didn't just understand me.
Currently on franco #146, stock rom
tried this one,

its a boost , its like hitting two birds in one stone.
got rid of the problem and made my n4 louder
if this post could help anyone i'll feel better

Hello. I hope you can help me because this problem is giving me A LOT of headaches V.V
first of all, im spanish so dont expect a great english.
Let's go;
The main problem is; i hear some distortion on some music tracks. Its a short distortion, like a "pop" that you hear when you're plugging a jack on the computer.
Its not problem of the music file, as it happens randomly and i cant repeat it, and it doesnt happen on the computer. It's not problem of the headphones, as it happens in the onboard loudspeaker, and with other speakers (i have no other headphones to try with). It's not problem of the music player, it happens with the stock one, and doubletwist ( i haven't tried more)
It's something releated to the firmware i think, as I downgraded back to JM1 and distortions dissapeared (at least i didn't hear any). Now i'm trying with JPP as it's the latest official update with Kies, and it still happens, but less than with JPY.
I'm REALLY frustrated, i've wasted hours trying to analyze and isolate the problem but I dont know why it's happenning and how to solve it :/
ive had the phone lock up if it changes clock speed on the later roms - totally at random - but sometimes ive noticed a click or pop as well
in another thread somewhere someone else mentioned that their music player was crashing when their phone changed clock speed.
If youve tried everything else - try locking the clock speed so it doesnt change? (setcpu ?)
Ok, thank you, i've tried locking CPU speed at 400mhz with setCPU and it works. Now that we've located the problem, what can we do?
I'd have to open setCPU every time i want to listen to music?
:/
I've noticed that if you change the equaliser settings from the default it has that click noise when playing the music. Problem us that the default settings are crap, but if you want to change it you get that annoyance in that background
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Google music that came with my tab running 3.1 out of the box isnt recognizing any of my music and closes its self seconds after i open it. I updated the app to 3.0.1 but still no dice. I googled it and i saw some one else that had the same issues but his problems were also not rsolved in his forum. Is there a alternative app that i can use so i can listn to y music?
Try poweramp
Mine had similar issues. It was recognizing all of my music but kept saying "error playing track" and would just randomly close the app after a few seconds. After I upgraded, it now will play the songs but still randomly closes. Trying updating again. Hopefully they resolve this issue quickly. I tried Poweramp but you have to pay for it.
Power amp! I'm using it now. I have never had a better quality sounding mp3 player.the controls for bass and trebble are amazing. You can pre amp it even harder if you have head phones that require more juice then stock tablet allows. This just made me go from hating the tablet to being inlove
I know why
I had the same issue, then i tried loading my music using kies and noticed that it put the music in sdcard/sounds and not the music folder. So after loading music using other methods into the sounds folder the music app plays it.
sounds stupid, but that's how it is

I just tried Poweramp...it's [email protected]#$% awesome. Definitely worth the price. Plus, gotta get these devs motivated to make more useful apps, right?!

Hey fellas,
So, it appears that the problem is related to the device thinking that headphones are plugged in. I would assume it is some kind of hardware fault.
However, there is an easy way to work around it (took me days of despair to find it) - install the app "soundabout" from the app store (cant post a link because I do not have 10 posts yet) . Under the media audio setting you can route all media sound through the speakers, thereby bypassing the problem. You do not need the pro version, but if this program just saved you from buying a new device...
app does not require anything other than a one time install and setup, so no annoying icons or thelike. only problem i encountered is that switching to different accounts on the device somehow mutes the sound, and it requires a restart to get it back to working. If anyone encounters the same limitation, let me know (or better, find a fix for it )
Cheers,
pilfer
Since it took me forever to find this app myself, some tag words for google: no media sound on speakers, only notification sounds, alarm sounds only, no sound from videos, no sound from music
At random times when i play music there isnt any sound coming out the the headphones. After pausing and playing, changing tracks or scrolling the track it suddenly starts working again. This happens at random times and gets pretty annoying. I have tried different Equilizers but no luck. Right now im using the Noozxoide Eizo rewire pro on xnote 20. Anything i can do to fix this? has anyone else experienced this?
Yep, mine does that occasionally. Haven't been able to pin down the cause as of yet.

Stock, N7, Winamp, Poweramp, Shuttle. All have the issue.
Full firmware reflash & data+cache wipe did nothing to resolve it.
It's not any specific song that has the issue.
Files on the SD or Internal make no difference.
Neither doe the EQ settings, headset vs speaker.
Adapt sound is disabled completely in applications.
It's not overly common (+-Once every 3 days of 12 hours listening), but it does happen.
Also at times it won't play the next song after the last one ended until I hit the power button to turn on the screen. Then it starts.
I suspect it has something to do with the notorious Mediascanner process. It's so bugged it probably gets stuck halfway through.
Yea i've tried mulitple 3rd party music players as well as the stock player. Im starting to think it might be equalizers.. I uninstalled the equilizer i was using which has worked fine for me on the stock music player, however, 3rd party music players still have the problem.
Hello!
My girlfriends 900T has this issue, while my 900P does not, we are running the same exact rom. So very odd problem indeed.
I have tried the following with no resolution:
http://help.pandora.com/customer/portal/articles/24288-trouble-streaming-pandora-on-android
I have not found many others with this issue, only could dig up 2 threads on the internet and both were unresolved. I've tried clearing cache/data uninstalling/reinstalling, trying different/older apk's, full no ad's apk's vs latest play store version.....high quality audio checked etc.
When i switch back to the home panel, the equalizer bars in the upper right hand corner are moving, as if sound is playing, but no sound comes out. Yet when the advertisements come on, PERFECT sound. Its SO annoying. Plugging in headphones do not help vs speaker, both have no sound.
Thanks for any suggestions.
did you ever get this fixed?
I'm having the same issue
