Works for linux too, but you have to change the scripts. Essentially, you are flashing boot.img and recovery.img, but skipping system.img.
Then you use the stock recovery to load the stock firmware and blammo- back to stock. You can use the 8445 firmware version if you want to go back to stock 3.1.
Hey guys I just bought my Iconia today and rooted it and flashed the Picasso ROM. I realized I don't want a custom ROM what I want it a stock ROM, root it, and flash a custom kernel. Any help on getting back to stock from where I'm at now? This is my first tablet and I'm confused as ****. My Nexus S is so easy! I'm in Chicago, IL USA so what do I need to do to return to stock?
Hint...
try searching the DEV section....

If you've already flashed to VP, then you have CWM installed, and if you followed the instructions for flashing, you naturally would have made a backup of your stock ROM. So, boot into CWM with your stock backup that you made on your SD card, and restore it.
find 4.10.24
extract the update.zip
put on your external sd card
power down and restart volume- and power until cwm text appears
flash with cwm the update.zip
that should do it
Hi,
I have an acer iconia a500 root+cwm running flexreaper...
I need to unroot it and revert it back to stock...
I used acer recovery installer to flash acer recovery
I used gingerbreak to unroot
Flexreaper is what loads now...
How do I flash back stock?
I know the theory of adding an update.zip file to the root of the microsd but which update.zip file do I get?
Is there a way to get to the stock ics by default?
Please let me know...

Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878 flash one of these roms and you are full stock. Pick the ICS rom if you want ( decrypt it with decrypted if needed , see the same post) put the update zip on your tablet flash it with cwm.
Your root will be gone , recovery will be stock and you will have stock ICS bootloader.
Why you want that is beyond me, but you can also flash full stock full root if you want a full stock rom but still have the liberty to do what you want.
I will RMA my phone since I found hardware defect. In the meantime, I've flashed a custom rom and I am trying to go back to stock completely.
First of all, is it possible to go back to the stock without any traces?
If so, how?
Is it enough just to flash the stock rom through toolkit and re-lock the bootloader?
Or this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
I'd assume the Toolkit is just scripting the same process.
