in the the process of debloating
can we have a list of what each apk does exactly so that we can customize our debloating ... data about unnecessary apps are contradictory sometimes and/or incomplete
I haven't deleted them from the phone, but simply disabled some of their SamsungLINK, SamsungON, Story board apps from starting/running.

Settings> more> application manager> All
Then just go through and disable them. Once disabled they appear at the very bottom of the list

You need to be rooted and then use System Tuner app (available in Google Play) to turn them off.

Sorry I just saw your post. The second post in my first link explains it:
Install System Tuner, free from market (lots of annoying ads, no big deal).
Click the red System Android, click Android System, Details, then uncheck all 7 CarrierIQ related processes.

It still runs in the background, intermittently popping up asking to activate, only way is to delete the apk.

so that it will never bother you again do this.
Apps>ALL>Sprint Connections Optimizer> Force Stop and uncheck Show Notifications.
It will never bother you again.
Other than that im not sure. I guess you have your reasons to not even show in the options list.

Thing is even if I stop notifications it still runs, and can restart even if stopped.
So nobody has found a way to disable or Remove My Magazine? I have disabled the start button option but I really want to disable completely mostly because I'm irritated that Samsung is forcing the APP on us.

If you're rooted you can remove/freeze it with the donate version of Titanium.

Root then titanium.
Be forewarned! If you disable the magazine crap, it breaks other apps functionality which make them force close on loading! Might be critical in order for the Note 3 to function properly!

The only thing it breaks is the ability to open the stock email app from the notification area.

It's the wifes phone so I don't want to root it. If it was mine it would have rooted from day 1.
Just getting the word out to everyone. This works without root and makes it super easy for you to remove any Bloatware you would like and fully control it.

I've already run it but thanks for sharing it in here:good:
didn't you already post it junior ?
Fine job making a Windows program. Unfortunately I do not know most of those apps so I will not select them. Is it too much to ask someone for a list of apk name versus function name?

The apk name is listed along with the packagename in the list. If you are unsure what things are safe to block/disable. There are plenty of people on the forum that would be willing to help you.
I did not see the package name so I will have run it again and read more carefully or try to change the size of that field.

The apk is on the left and the package name is on the right. Are you saying you would like to see the App Drawer Name ??
That would be really helpful. Thanks.
This says without root then the other page this links to says root required which is it

Yeah, it sounds like you blocked a little too many, Lol. You can simply go and save your blocked list and then Unblock all and start going one by one until you figure out which ones you do need.
Please bring all feedback and questions over to the forum dedicated for this.

Here's one thing to think about also, by accident I blocked the Google stock email , not the Gmail. I went back to unblock and I had to re-enter all my emails back again. So what I'm saying after a block and then an un-block it wipes the app. Did you expect that to happen or should I expect that to happen for most apps be turned back on?
Thanks

That's odd, it doesn't wipe any data. Nor have I had an issue like that. Let me look into it.
