I just made the big switch from the iphone to galaxy s4... one complaint i have is with my work enterprise email. The iPhone was able to do conversation threading so it would only show the email message once. if i wanted to see any the replies i would select that message and then it would breakdown all other emails to select... the galaxy only puts emails in conversation order but all as separate line items. So when there are a ton of replies this gets very annoying and fills up the inbox. Does anyone know of any apps that are worth downloading that would have the conversation threading feature similar to the iphone?

I've got a 6925, and i'm quite annoyed by the e-mail notifications always nagging me. I have 2 e-mail accounts setup (Gmail, and my POP3 work account). I want it to check for new messages as frequently as possible, but I only want it to display a notification if it DOWNLOADED a new message. Currently it displays that I have New messages all the time unless i physically go into my inbox and actually open the e-mail message all the way.
Why is this so annoying? Well a lot of the times I get messages that I just don't open based on the "header" of the message. Yet unless I actually go in and mark it as read, or open it up, when it goes to check for new messages on the server it still thinks it's a NEW message and thus prompts me with a display saying I have new messages. Is there anyway I can have those notifications fire ONLY when it's DOWNLOADED a new message and not keep pestering me saying I have 63 some e-mails that are new and I haven't opened?
Thanks
Hi, I just switched to using e-mails instead of sms with some friends and I noticed that I see every recieved e-mail in the persons e-mail tab but my own mails are not shown there, just the ones I recieved.
My question is now, does anybody have an idea how to enable something like the conversation mode we have when sending sms? It's just that I have adapted to the conversation mode that much that I'm now actually missing it in my e-mail tab The only way to access my sent e-mails is to open my inbox and open my "sent items" folder manually.
Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, I've noticed a weird issue with Go SMS and threaded group messaging. I was wondering if you guys had this issue and if there is a fix for it? I like Go SMS but my issue is when i get a threaded group message ill get two messages. One will be from the actual contact that sent it. After a few seconds it will disappear then follow up get included into the thread that its supposed to. After it gets included to its proper place it still has that same contacts old texts messages pushed to the top of the conversation list. So it acts like i got a new text (or a recent text) from that person. I click on the conversation is from a long time ago.
Same here! Bump!
Same here, I ended up switching to textra because of this.
You would think find much help here do to GO sms having their threads closed due to security concerns they refuse to clear up

I noticed the default Email application (with the yellow icon) has been updated. I now see icons representing the name of the contact, similar interface to Gmail, etc. One thing I thought I remember reading about was message threading. This doesn't seem to be working though. Each email I with the same subject (just replies) is continuing to be put in a separate thread/email item. Is there an option I am missing that will enable threading? Sure, it's not a huge disappointment, but I figured with this many years under its belt, the default Email app would allow threading of messages. My dad doesn't like text messaging so we regularly email throughout the day resulting in 12+ emails. Right now, they are still showing up as 10+ email even though they could be shown similar to Gmail in 1 thread.
Thanks.
I'd like to know how to stop conversations in gmail!
I can't help with that, but I have another question someone might know the answer to: how to hide the "Show X more folders" that is ALWAYS at the top of the email inbox view?
I recently switched from a Motorola android phone on Verizon to an S5 on AT&T
I spent many hours with AT&T and Samsung phone support over the weekend trying to get to the bottom of a problem I am having -
When the phone receives a text via email. Instead of appearing in the text logs as the FROM email address, it uses some id that is associated with a server somehow. The first text via email I received is showing the caller as 1210100001 and it increments from there. After having received many more texts via email I am now up to 1210100031. When I receive messages from AT&T, I see IDs of different lengths but I don't care about those.
When you receive a text via email the first thing you see in the message is "FRM: [email protected] but in the log it shows up as 12101000xx
On my Motorola/Verizon/Android the FROM email address appears in the log as the sender and more importantly emails from the same address are all grouped together. As a matter of fact I backed up the SMS from that phone and imported it into the S5. I can go back in my history and see the texts grouped by sender so that you can scroll through and see all your conversations on one screen. On the S5 I can only see one text at a time. No grouping of any kind.
AT&T says the problem is with Samsung. Samsung says that's how it works period and I should go back to Motorola (shocking).
I downloaded a third party SMS app but find the same thing in the log. Shouldn't all android phones work the same in regards to this?
Is there a way I can get it to work the way it did on Motorola? I am rooted now. Will a custom ROM correct the problem?
OK I guess this is a difference between AT&T sms gateway and Verizon SMS gateway.
My big problem is not being able to see all the email texts in one scrollable screen in chronological order.
Anybody know how I could view all message logs from sender 12010100xxx in one long scrollable view in chronological order?
