I need help to root KFHD7inch - 7" Kindle Fire HD General

I have a kindle fire hd 7inch. I want to use a gamepad. I downloaded gamepad ime, but it wont work. I found a program called oneclickroot, but never tried it. I just want to know if the usb will still work to charge my kindle fire hd. Is there any easier way to root it?

[Q] Gamepads and Controllers

Does anyone know if there is any type of compatability with controllers of any sort or any gamepads with the mini-usb port on the Kindle Fire? I know this is mainly meant for syncing with a pc, but wondering if this is at all possible or not. Am aware that bluetooth is not available at this time, hoping for an update to bluetooth in the future without actually disassembling the Fire, but oh well. I'm wanting to use some type of keyboard or controller/gamepad so that I can play Onlive, and also perhaps for a few emulators that I have also.

I would be suprised if it had the usb drivers necessary to do this.
What do you mean by BT. Have they confirmed that BT is in the fire?
The Kindle Fire does have bluetooth capability in it, so far as I am aware. But, the original KF kernel does not support it, and Amazon hasn't made any announcements as to the support of it in the future. And you mentioned something about the drivers, is there a way to push a usb driver update through the Fire through ADB, as mine is rooted still? I read through another thread earlier about disassemblying and reverse engineering the bluetooth capabilities, I'm just simply trying to figure out if possible to use the mini usb cable to hook up to a simple gamepad. Though the usb driver does throw a wrench in the process.

Kindle Fire keyboard

So I was wondering will a usb keyboard work with the kindle fire using an adapter or whatever?

I asked this question directly to Amazon customer support (as of 1/5) and they said the Fire doesn't support any external keyboards.
Not sure if this holds true for rooted KF's though...
The KF does not have the ability to host USB devices including keyboards, GPS, mass storage even rooted.
Some are looking into it, but I think it is doubtful it will happen.
The technology is called USB On The Go or OTG. See the thread below. The board supports it, it is just a matter have someone enabling in the kernel and making it work properly.

MK808 to KFHD File transfer

I'm trying to transfer a vid file to my kindle from my MK808 android mini PC. Sounds quite simple I know but unfortunately the tried and tested apps that let you WiFi share are on one marketplace but not the other. When I physically connected the kindle to the MK808 via USB the kindle tells me its connected to USB and ready but the MK808 does not see the kindle, at least not in its explorer program. I've searched the net for some time and cannot find any help other than use WiFi sharing with the same app on both devices.
Any suggestions or help getting me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
As a note, the only hardware I have in my possession at this time is a kindle fire HD, MK808, HTC Sensation and a Xbox, if anyone has any suggestions I will don my cap to you for the remainder of time!

There are several cloud services around that may help, for example, dropbox, ubuntu one, google drive, etc. They may be a temporary workaround. If the mk 808 has Bluetooth I'd also agree with Raymond.
I managed to stream the file via ftp. Won't download or upload I'm thinking its a network issue tbh thanks though
Oh the 808 doesn't have bluetooth

Still found no solid solution to this, its really beginning to nark me lol! I've took to transferring the vids to my SDcard and Bluetooth it to the kindle from my Sensation which is agonizingly slow and cant even be left over night as files like to fail for no effing reason!

If your MK808 running JB 4.1.1 stock rom, it is rooted.
so install superSU,busybox and AirDorid from play store. then you are set.
run AirDorid in MK808, kindle open browser connect to MK 808 (i test with my Galaxy S2 I9100).
you should able to download/upload files to/from MK 808.
hope this will help.
I lived with bluetooth tbh mate but now my next venture for the kindle is XBMC

The Fire Stick 1 is toooooo slow to play games via Moonlight anyway. I strongly advise against it.
Yes, you can root the stick if you have a firmware lower than 5.2.6.1.
Okay so is IT possible to Connect ps4 Controller with fire TV Stick 2 with(Out) root?

[Q] What to do w/ a 6th Gen Kindle Fire HD 8?

I have an old 6th Gen Kindle Fire HD 8. It's a finicky device - it works fine, but the charging port only works with one particular non-Amazon USB cable. I have no idea why, but I think the port has had issue from the start.
It's kinda on the bottom of my electronics pile, so it really has no use at the moment. Anyway, it's just sitting around and I don't know what to do with it. Can it be rooted to run bare AOSP?

I have one of these. Rooted with mtk-su/SuperSu back in the day, early 2019. Customized enough to be almost stock.
It's a fine device - runs kids' games just fine. No difference with Hd8 2017 really, solid battery life.
It all depends on your needs really. The only downside is that apps start dropping lollipop support, so while it's an OK cpu, some things are just no longer compatible.

There is no root or ROMs for your device.
You must have to use a transferrable micro USB cable to use ADB debugging.
Things to do your Fire tablet as
-> Digital Clock
-> Android app debugger (If your PC doesn't have a virtualization technology to run Android virtual device in Android Studio)
-> Android Auto head unit
-> Smart display
-> MIDI controller (If you don't have a money to buy a MIDI controller. Use your old Fire tablet as a MIDI keyboard in digital audio workstation or stand-alone virtual instruments)
